Why revivals? What is the significance of the timing when a show, that has either long closed its doors or appeared on stage in smaller venues, gets a significant reboot on Broadway?  The recent revivals of Children of a Lesser God and Once on This Island on Broadway shed light on how the revival of two acclaimed shows can impact new audiences and reflect on the current climate of our country, even though they were written for another time.

So its #lovetheatreday and can i just say

Its more than a job. If you’ve ever run a show, whether acting, producing, designing, techinical work, you get it.

Its like a committed relationship. It starts at first love, finding happiness and joy in the work and excitement for the future to come. And then, the rough patch: tech week. It will bend you and break you down until you reach what feels like the sleep deprived point of no return. But you stick with it, the end result is so satisfying no matter how good or bad the show goes, because the artists around you and the bonds you’ve made along the way are so rewarding.

Fuck the people that say its just a job. It’s the experience of a lifetime.

LOVE THEATRE DAY Through the tantrums, CONSTANT tears, repetitive anxious breakdowns and the feeling of failure... This is what it's all about, eh? ;) I constantly struggle a lot with my university course but putting on performances about things you care so hugely for is all that matters in the end. Happy #worldtheatreday / #LoveTheatreDay everybody! I’m dedicating today to my favourite show which closes later this week. I could not have imagined the effect Company has had on me when I walked into the Gielgud for the first preview in September. This show has brought me so much joy, comfort, peace and I am really sad to see it go. But I couldn’t have imagined the bonuses that came with seeing the show in the friends I have made as well as having the ability to (and continue to) champion some of the finest talent we have in the west end. Huge thank you to the cast, crew and Marianne bloomin Elliott for your hard hard work, enthusiasm and for your time!
