Okay the thing is I did want to answer this immediately but it absolutely crippled me with doubt 😂 so I'm just gonna do it quick like ripping off a bandaid so that I can't overthink it anymore. Also not going to rank them because I'll spiral, so you're just getting 5 great ones:

The first interrogation room scene in 2x08 (but also all Carlos and Gabriel scenes this episode). The constant shifts in Carlos as he puts things together and realizes why Gabriel's there, the heartbreak of him thinking he was doing what his father always wanted, only to disappoint him again... at the time, this was the strongest scene LS had it its arsenal (WE STAN AND MISS TONYA KONG FOREVER AND ALWAYS) and it remains one of the best ones. It's so compelling and amazing to get to see the Carlos and Gabriel dynamic on display for the first time. This episode was a game-changer and I'll never shut up about it.

It's probably cheating to say all of his work in 4x18, so if I had to pick a scene from that I would say his talk with Owen where they toast Gabriel. My only problem with it is that it's so short, but Rafa packs every fucking thing he can in there, beat for beat, and it's beautiful. His delivery on "and forget about it?" but also all the lines leading up to that. The man is fucking hollow and crushed and lost and MY GOD RAFAEL. He's so skilled at what he does, knows exactly what he's doing every time. It's sublime.

Fine, another 4x18. Carlos's vows. I'm not gonna explain that one, the man is fucking beautiful and his heart is beautiful and he puts in on display publicly for what was probably the first time in his adult life, and it's stunning.

I love the scene in 3x13 where Carlos meets Cooper. Rafa is such a brilliant comedic actor, he uses every tool at his disposal, he understands his craft so well, how to use his body and face and voice to delivery great work, he's such a standout. I adore him. I could watch that scene for hours. Also, he is really fucking distracting in those clothes.

I'm gonna pick the fire in 2x12. And I'm gonna pick it because honestly the intensity of that scene, the life-or-death stakes, the absolute devastation and destruction of it, they are fully delivered by Rafa's performance. Like, Carlos's fear is what drives the scene, and Rafa's work sells it. And I'm also going to pick it because he's shirtless and so fucking hot. I'm gay, it's true. Have fully never recovered from it. And I'm also going to cheat and say the scene continues into him crying and TK holding him. So, like, obviously a top 5.

I'm sorry I have to include it I know I already picked 5 and I refuse to cut any of them but the 3x04 scene deserves to be in here and I'm mostly talking about the montage scene where TK wakes up and Carlos is forced out of the room and then his mom is there but then he fucking gasps the breath of a dying man who has been saved LIKE HE BASICALLY SAYS NO WORDS BUT MY FUCKING GOD, THE PERFORMANCE so I'm listing it and you can't fucking stop me Lola YOU CAN'T

anyway I just really love an actor who has honed their skills and studied their craft and dedicated themselves to approaching each scene in a fresh and honest way and I'm just really fucking happy to get to watch Rafa do it so thanks for letting me rave about him Lola you're a real one ❤️

Hollywood’s golden boy, years of good press and praise heaped onto him for his talent, his charisma, his massive heart, all thrown away after a failed engagement and drug-fueled bender broke headlines. Or, Carlos is a celebrity personal trainer, and lapsed actor TK Strand is his new client.

TK reaches for one of his hands and presses two fingers to the base of his wrist. “Your pulse is racing, baby. What’s going on?” “It’s-” He cuts himself off, searching for the words but coming up dry. How is he supposed to tell TK he just dreamt about his own death? How is he supposed to break his heart like that? Or, the nightmares haven't let up and Carlos is at his limit.

It doesn’t feel fair. It doesn’t feel fair that he has to go through all this just because some guy decided to play a stupid prank. Because he cared about his job, cared about finding that woman and baby that were being abused. He doesn’t think it’s fair that everything hurts this much when he just wanted to do the right thing. He just wanted to help that woman, to make sure she and her child were safe. Only she and her child never existed, and he fell right into their trap. He’s so mad he’s seeing red. And he knows he shouldn’t be. He knows the anger is useless. He knows it won’t do anything for him. He knows he just needs to get past this, just put it behind him, but he can’t. He can’t move on. He doesn’t know how. He doesn’t know how to not feel this. or, a missing scene from 3x11

He keeps playing the phone call over in his head. Paul handing him the phone, his dad listing off Kendra’s symptoms, the panic that shocked his whole body when Owen said he was starting rescue breaths. He should’ve expected it. He knows his dad well enough to know that if there’s something he can do to save someone, he will. No matter what. Even if it could mean losing his own life in the process. TK shudders, squeezing his eyes shut. He doesn’t want to think about that. He really, really doesn’t want to think about that. or, the aftermath of a second failed game night.

So, once again- I have ZERO basis for any of my 911 LS speculation other than those stills and some bts content and an intense desire for a Carlos Begins, but I have ideas after seeing the girl who plays Iris posting about being back on set. Like, it fully opened the door to new possibilities to me. 

I think the “surprise”/”trip” that Rafa is talking about that Carlos receives/does is related to Michelle/Iris. I do not put it past Tim to kill one of them off because that seems to be the fuel for their “begins” episodes. BUT, I do think one of them goes missing again/and or is dead now. I wasn’t a big fan of their friendship- mainly because it didn’t service Carlos as a character, but they are a part of his backstory, so here we are. Not my fav way to get to a Carlos begins, but there is history there, even if it was like the worst part of season 1 LOL

Also, if they kill off Michelle, it brings drama to Tommy and Nancy too bc they were friends with her too. 

That being stated, I don’t like them killing people off for shock factor, especially women- but it’s also Tim soooo. 

I think Carlos finds out in the premiere, which is why we have that pic of an upset Carlos at the station and I’m 75% he brushes it off and is like “IM FINE,” just like he was in 3X11 bc that’s Carlos bby please let yourself feel things. And thats why we have concerned looking TK at the loft. Then my theory goes on to where Carlos ends up digging into the death/missing, bringing more detective vibes to him- which culminates to a Carlos begins ep, complete with backstory and everything- which I think fits with Benito talking about how he can’t wait for the episode that Ronen was teasing.

Also, them filming at the cliff area gave me vibes of season 1- which I know is probably just a regular call but could also be related. 

And/or whump!Carlos because they seems to happen in begin episodes too and if I’m right about something happening to either Michelle or Iris, then he’d be in danger looking into it. and will let our boys have a wedding that the only hitch is them getting hitched

Anyways, like I said, I don’t really even go here much on tumblr, but I love this show and I love Carlos and I love theorizing, so thank you for letting me word vomit and theorize here :)
