Danganronpa: Another Iteration (or a talent-shift AU for DRA)
Haruhiko Kobashikawa, Ultimate Surgeon
The protagonist, and 1/3 of the three "brain cells".
Comes from a family of field medics.
Ending up garnering lots of attention from the media for performing flawless surgeries at the age of five.
Would much draw attention away from the whole "medical prodigy" thing, but would lay down his life to save people (savior complex protag, my beloved).
Is a bit too into the anatomy parts of medical textbooks.
Mikako Kurokawa, Ultimate Pilot
Was groomed from a young age to be an unstoppable war machine.
Was told from a young age that "actions speak louder than words", resulting in her not talking much.
Doesn't really open up to anybody, not even her servant/adoptive brother.
People are often unnerved by the pale six-foot-one girl with noticeable muscles underneath her uniform, and rightfully so.
Yuki Maeda, Ultimate Exorcist
Has powers straight out of an isekai/shounen manga, and the underdog protagonist energy to match.
In spite of his title, Yuki actually specializes more in being a spiritual medium and summoning/communicating with the spirits themselves.
Is headmates with Utsuro, a far colder spirit in charge of the actual exorcisms, who finds just about any other activity "boring".
Has an awful and traumatic past that lead to both his attachment towards the dead and his alter.
Rei Mekaru, Ultimate Lucky Student
Primary trial saboteur.
Okay, I have two different prompts for a Lucky Student Rei.
First prompt, essentially Teruko Tawaki (right down to the backstory), but she doesn't need to get backstabbed for her to turn her back on others.
Second prompt: the Nagito-esque Rei I outlined here.
Either way, a total menace.
Teruya Otori, Ultimate Professor
One of Haruhiko's supports and 1/3 of the "brain cells".
Highly-intelligent and would drop tons of obscure trivia in a conversation, to the point that you would leave knowing a whole lot of stuff.
Father was the principal/dean of a K-12 school, and decided to hire his genius son to teach people.
He especially loves teaching grade-schoolers, but that kind of leaks into his interactions with his classmates (they all have at least one gold star/lollipop).
Akane Taira, Ultimate Merchant
Classic rags-to-riches backstory, with her going from a door-to-door saleswoman to a street vendor to the founder of a popular market chain.
Perfect customer service voice that she only ever lets go of when angry.
Seems docile and polite, but would punch a Karen.
Basically Akane, but even more girlboss.
Yamato Kisaragi, Ultimate Butler
Has a FuyuPeko-esque relationship with Mikako (minus the romance).
The Kisaragis have been working under the Kurokawas for generations to come.
Instead of Love Live! references, he makes Black Butler and Hayate the Combat Butler references in his dialogue.
Always seems to appear out of nowhere and know exactly what you want/need. Even Mikako is unnerved by this.
Kiyoka Maki, Ultimate Inventor
Specializes in creating weapons (primarily artillery).
Has the potential to make a nuclear bomb, but would rather spend all day doing typical teen girl stuff.
Greatly prefers fixing up old technology, rather than inventing new products.
Gets really dirty by the end of inventing stuff (blame her hyper-focus), and hates it.
Kinji Uehara, Ultimate Sniper
Was adopted by an Italian mercenary group, resulting in him becoming an assassin from a young age.
Is still highly-religious, believing that the lifestyle he has lived has condemned him to a life in hell.
Has a protective attitude towards children, has struck up a friendship with Teruya because of it.
Keeps a distance from the rest of his classmates, not wanting anyone to know the truth behind what he does.
Ayame Hatano, Ultimate Priestess
Can confidently lead sermons, but can barely handle herself in normal conversations.
Regularly goes on tangents regarding her religion, which can veer into some unnerving territory.
Is commonly seen as an upright maternal figure, which always throws people for a loop when they see how she really is.
Due to her talent, she is nowhere near the workaholic she is in canon, and she often encourages her classmates to take little breaks.
Tsurugi Kinjo, Ultimate Sprinter
Still has his strong sense of justice, but it isn't filtered through the black-and-white insanity of the police force. More like a shonen protagonist.
Would gladly sacrifice his life, if it means his peers would survive and/or be avenged. Who knows where that mentality would lead, when in a killing game?
Juu was a former Olympian, who Tsurugi looks up to and seeks to surpass.
Carries the burden of a promise made between him and his posthumous best friend.
Satsuki Iranami, Ultimate Police Officer
Haruhiko's other support, and 1/3 of the "brain cells".
Was born to a prestigious legal family, but was unable to live up to their standards, with Keisuke being the only one willing to give her a chance.
Is more of a Peralta-type cop, rather than a Santiago-type.
Probably owns a prop flag gun that says "GOTCHA!" or "BANG!".
Mitsuhiro "Mitchie" Higa, Ultimate Clown
Fandom's treatment of Mitch be like. /hj
Would have a more sanitized personality, for the sake of the kids.
Imagine Mitchie taking clowning as serious as canon!Mitch takes soccer.
Hates mimes and any other circus performances with a burning passion. Would start the clown uprising.
Kizuna Tomori, Ultimate Soccer Player
Would have a lot of issues with having a "gross" or "boyish" talent, thanks to Minako.
Would compensate for this with her hyper-girly personality.
Is highly competitive, and would do whatever it takes to win and get ahead in life.
Very Arei Nageishi-core.
Kakeru Yamaguchi, Ultimate Cheerleader
In contrast to the American-style cheerleader Kizuna is, Kakeru would be an oendan-leader.
Midori would be more athletic in this universe (although she still has her illness), and Kakeru cheers her at every event, like the good big brother that he is.
Big body = big lungs = loud shouts. Has a very hoarse and raspy voice outside of sporting events, because of it.
Is quiet to save up his voice for his cheers, and loves tea and cough drops.
Kanata Inori, Ultimate Lawyer
Her parents were murdered, when she was a baby, and she was taken in by the lawyer that prosecuted against and exposed the true murderer.
Her naturally polite and optimistic personality has made her the mascot of sorts for the Ando law firm.
Prime example of "A lawyer doesn't cry, until it's all over".
Could be considered an honorary member of the "brain cells", but she isn't a part of the polycule.

Utsuro's Sister Info
Now that I've finally finished the sprites for that fan-sister that I gave to Utsuro, now I'm going to add her personal information:
Name: Sachiko (幸子).
Age: 9 (Child), 25 (Adult).
Gender: Female.
(Possible) Ultimate Title: Ultimate Lucky Student.
Birthdate: August 15 (Leo).
Height: 137 cm (Child), 181 cm (Adult).
Weight: 35 kg (Child), 74 kg (Adult).
Chest Size: 65 cm (Child), 84 cm (Adult).
Blood Type: O.
Likes: Stars, sweets, comics.
Dislikes: Her brother (Only as a child), her parents, coffee.
Having been conceived just to be a replacement for a brother she will never know, Sachiko spent her entire early childhood treated as nothing more than a lucky charm by her parents, who only had her to get back the power that turned them into the greedy monsters that drove their son away, trapping her in a constant cycle of being berated and punished by them for not being able to fulfill their greedy desires with her inherited power, and be exactly like her brother, an abuse that culminated with her being abandoned in a orphanage at 5 y.o. once her parents realized that her existence didn't gave them her brother's power back, and showing her how little they cared for her as a person.
Even if the orphanage she was abandoned into was one of the few good ones in Japan, the abuse she had suffered since the day she was born left her as a skittish kid with both a pathological need to be accepted and needed, and a big grudge towards her older brother, which made it hard for her to make friends with the other orphans in the place, who either avoided her or picked on her, something that only exacerbated her issues even when the orphanage caretakers tried to do something about it.
After the Tragedy started some months before her 9th birthday, and the orphanage she was left in was attacked by a group of Despairs, she and the other orphans were taken by the Future Foundation, where she became one of the few survivors of the attacks caused by the Ultimate Despair's mole in the Foundation, sending her under the care of a low-ranking member after she healed from her injuries, finally giving her a good parental figure and a chance to start healing from her mental injuries.
As an adult, she's much calmer and mentally healthier, which has given her the maturity to realized that her brother, unlike what her parents always told her about him, was as much of a victim of their parents' abuse as she, which has motivated her to search for any information about him, so she can at least have the closure of knowing who he truly was.
Trivia:
Her listed ages are the years she was going to turn the year the Tragedy started (Child) and her age 16-17 years after the beginning of the Tragedy (Adult).
She was born around a year after Utsuro left to the streets.
She has some scars in her abdomen from being attacked by the Future Foundation mole.
She has some more physical similarities to Utsuro as a child than as an adult, thanks to her parents' efforts to turn her into a copy of her brother in their ill-fated plan to get the Divine Luck back.
She has some level of Divine Luck, but isn't very strong.
Thanks to the Divine Luck of her parents being somewhat involved in her birth, during the Tragedy, she became slightly more accident-prone thanks to the loss of Divine Luck, culminating in the attack by the Future Foundation's mole that she barely survived.

i wish i could say the same, my brain hates when things are too far from canon when i write them, so i'll have to change his story a little :')) also im hoping we'll get at least a little more utsuro content but i'm doubting... imayormaynotbeasimp -Star
Daw that sucks, but it is what it is ig, but if were lucky (unlucky) like maybe...just maybe...One of us is right xd
We have been getting a few more dra art stuffs than before at least linuj art wise so it is possible, the alter ego utsuro was in that white void after all there could be a story that takes place there maybe.
Also valid, I simp for nikei so i do not judge vgyjse

20) TUPPERWΛVE - To you baby, with love
As the years go by, sometimes I still crave that classic-style (or as Tech Honors once described SEAWRLDハートブレーク, “trash-ass”) vaporwave sound. It’s the usual fare of slowed down antiquated R&B with filter sweeps and side-chained kicks, but TUPPERWΛVE’s sample choices and looped snippets stay inspired throughout, building emotionally impactful arrangements and proving the artist has what 90% of contemporary vaporwave is missing: a sense of taste and purpose. NUWRLD vibes.

19) The Caretaker - Everywhere At The End Of Time - Stage 4 & 5
Leyland Kirby released stages 4 and 5 of his six part, multi-year epic simulating a mind falling into dementia. It’s said the last memories someone suffering from dementia retains are the melodies heard in their youth, and on this year’s installments we find melodies from the first stages lost in a haze of static and noise. While not as easy to listen to as the first three stages, these 8 tracks lose the poetic titles of the previous installments and present an absolutely horrifying interpretation of the confusion that comes with a mind breaking down.

18) Kate NV - для FOR
I won’t lie, I went into the new Kate NV hoping for at least a few heart-melting rib-cage exploding pop masterpieces like what she showed us on Binasu (my favorite album of 2016). However, the absence of conventional songwriting on для FOR ends up being its defining characteristic. The album delivers a set of impressionistic synth sculptures that slowly develop an album that blossoms into blissful organic structures with brushstrokes of vocals before skipping off into a brightly lit horizon.

17) 忘れた頃に手紙をよこさないで - Tamao Ninomiya
There is an air of surreality drifting through the new crop of Tokyo underground post-pop. Tamao Ninomiya’s “lo-fi bedroom pop” is always performed in PJs and has a playful gloominess with a thousand-yard-stare kind of shyness that exudes a special kind of emotional resonance. Everything is gentle, subtly “off” - it’s an inventive and delicate pop sketchbook.

16) Kero Kero Bonito - Time 'n' Place
The same way Pokémon Yellow was a video game based on an anime that was based on a video game, Kero Kero Bonito is a British group that has arrived at a sound closer to early 2000′s jrock than the British rock that crop of Japanese musicians were imitating. While the final 1/3rd of the album drags, there’s no denying the pop perfection of “Time Today,” the Blue-Album-Weezer thunder of “Only Acting,” the Parklife-era Blur artschool bounce of “If I’d Known,” the whimsical bubblegum of “Make Believe,” or the saccharin yet heartfelt “Dear Future Self,” a pop meditation complete with "Mr. Blue Sky” charm and melodramatic chamber orchestra arrangements.

15) we could die here - we could die here
While “brooding ambient” is a genre I have drifted away from these past years, ‘we could die here’ reminded me of why I was once drawn to it. It’s all about creating atmospheres, and while so much of genre these days seems to be producing the same, boring, smoke-filled neon/black room, ‘we could die here’s lush sound succeeds in building a sprawling, haunting world with enough depth that it’s worth returning to.

14) poemme - Moments in Golden Light
Similar in scope to ‘we could die here,’ Moments in Golden Light is as advertised - warm and soft. Blissful pillows of ambience constructed in the old style, poemme pulses and drones with the silkiness of Hakobune and the breadth of Steve Roach, featuring a track that even unabashedly layers in bird samples.

13) Machine Girl - The Ugly Art
The Ugly Art is special, as it’s the first Machine Girl album that begins to capture the raw energy and power of their live shows by showcasing live drums. The insane breaks are intact and the blistering Dreamcast punk is more hardcore. It’s dense, unrelenting in its shredding, and culminates in the epic “A Decent Man,” a 10 minute violent rave masterpiece with more content than all 3 Matrix movies combined.

12) Oneohtrix Point Never - Age Of
Age Of is a complex concept album more convoluted than a Roger Waters solo project. The music itself makes the trip one worth taking, through 13 immaculately produced tracks painting a post-apocalyptic machine world. It has an ability to turn pop tricks on tracks like “Black Snow” and “Same,” while the sound remains distant from any of comfortable paradigm. Bits of static, broken samples, and walls of noise develop into larger-than-life ballads that seem eerily familiar despite being so alien. The arrangements are complex and the production is deep, it’s a cyber-western soundtrack that always commands full attention.

11) Seth Graham - Gasp
Gasp has a charm and complexity that sets it apart from a lot of experimental composition. The tape cut samples of “Whisper - Slap” sound impossibly worked on, while the ASMR freakouts of “Binary Tapioca” and the restrained playfulness of “Flower Cheese” make the process sound like an artist working effortlessly. Deeply emotive and loudly expressive, Gasp has a sound that digs in its hooks and burrows deep.

10) Equip - Synthetic Core 88
The long awaited followup to the seminal faux-ost I Dreamed Of A Palace In The Sky, Synthetic Core 88 delivers on the promise of Equip’s earlier work and brings it to a new realm of legitimacy. This is a 32-bit RPG I wish I could play - with all the themes of interwoven technology and magic revealing themselves in the clever score. The conflict between the cold steel and floral lushness emerges in the sound somewhere between Uematsu and a “Tales of” game. This album could only be made by someone who truly understands how music supports the worldbuilding an RPG needs to be a successful narrative platform.

9) Utsuro Spark - Static Electricity
Utsuro Spark is a miracle. One of the highlights from the impressive output of the Japanese label, Local Visions, this mini-album is a collection of beautifully crafted metropolitan electro pop. Sharp instrumentals including studio-perfect guitar and on-point synth work lay a foundation for blissfully creamy vocals - pop music that is full of desperate longing and unpretentious charm. The katakana titles recall the old Japanese pop it draws inspiration from, but in many ways the soul of this music at the very least meets the bar set by the old masters.

8) Tsudio Studio - Port Island
I was lucky to play a show in Kobe with Tsudio Studio, whose brilliant songwriting and iconic vocal delivery completely won over my heart and soul. The jazzy coolness and gorgeous chord structure for tracks like “Azur” and “Snowfall Seaside” are absolutely intoxicating, while the hooky R&B in “Mikage” and the Phantasy Star Online space-shredding of the opener “Tor” make Port Island a mini-album where every single track is a stand out.

7) Dinosaur On Fire - Populous Romantique
After a 6 year gap, dds cohort Tech Honors unleashed the second Dinosaur On Fire album in a maelstrom of prog rock and laser beams. It’s an ultra hi-fi production that bounces from stoner prog to krautrock to synthwave to operatic video game symphonies to Ray Lynch arp fountains and back again effortlessly. Populous Romantique showcases the expansive reach of Tech’s abilities both as a visionary artist and producer.

6) Monari Wakita - Ahead!
While so much jpop has become aggressively intense and fast-tempo, Ahead! provides a soulful contrast. Monari Wakita is an ex-idol and alumni of Especia, a group known for capitalizing on 80′s/90′s nostalgia. Ahead! mostly pulls from the 90′s, with new jack swing aping and hyper-produced city pop so technically perfect that the instrumentals would sound at home on the soundtrack of a 90′s Sonic Team video game. It’s that FM bass, synthetic swing, and plastic instrumentation against Monari’s powerful and soulful voice that gives Ahead! its irresistible charm and made it one of the most addictive albums of the year.

5) Ventla - Plugged-Matic/Sublingual Odyssey
After years of silence, Ventla returned in 2018 with 10 (!) new albums on his quest to release 100. Ventla’s music continues to be eclectic vignettes of scratchy pop music, utilizing a seemingly endless variety of instruments and synths. Of the 10, the “classic Ventla” sound of Plugged-Matic and the playful exoticism explored on Sublingual Odyssey were my favorites - but with an artist whose entire catalog of 477 songs is easily played on loop for days on end, picking only 2 albums is almost an act of futility.

4) emamouse - Pigeon’s Point
emamouse’s genius visual art and surreal identity are accented by her equally forward thinking music. The iconic opener “01_PP2″ is a brilliant statement of purpose; a homicidal vocaloid squeaking words you can’t quite understand but frighten you nonetheless over a synth organ jamming out hypnotic post-pop you can’t help but dance to. This is music written by a true artist with a powerful vision of reality and instrumental chops informed by video game music deep cuts. “08_Pigeon’s Swipe” is another great showcase of emamouse’s ability to skew Dragon Quest baroque synths and contort them into the brilliant, unsettling world of her boundless imagination.

3) TWICE - What Is Love?
Kpop can be a divisive genre, but its meteoric rise in the US is no fluke. The Korean pop machine has mastered the art of the pop song, and nowhere is it more evident than in TWICE’s “What Is Love?” Perfect structure, heart-tugging hook, surprising turns, and a chorus that sounds like 1000 girls yelling the lyrics from the bottom of the grand canyon, “What Is Love?” is technically perfect and sweetly endearing. It’s truly the most perfect pop song I’ve ever heard.

2) Mid-Air Thief - Crumbling
Crumbling is an album so in tune with my personal taste it’s hard to believe it exists. With a foundation of Lamp-esque dreamy pop labyrinths, Mid-Air Thief weaves complex arrangements peppered with ELO synths, chiptune fireworks, lo-fi indie folk revery, underwater voices and Elliott Smith whispers, even some Merriweather Post Pavilion electro-hippy clouds. It’s all the right flavors and textures coming together in a perfectly balanced, romantic masterpiece.

1) Lamp - Her Watch / 彼女の時計
I discovered Lamp through a vaporwave album back in 2014 that sampled them heavily, and while those short samples of cooing vocals and breezy guitar looped with their heads underwater certainly worked in a satisfying way on that album, discovering the source material was a revelation. Lamp is the result of an algorithm to determine music that would be most appealing to me, and they hit new ridiculous heights of personal appeal on Her Watch. Their signature labyrinthine hurricane of Beatle-esque chord changes under soft voices and bossa nova rhythms is re-fitted into a nostalgic frame, sometimes approaching an almost city pop revivalist sound. The tenderness of “Slow-Motion,” the romance of “A Train Window,” the pop genius of “1998,” the borage of melancholic brightness that rolls from the opening chords of “At The Night Party,” all of it falls into place on the most sublime 36 minutes I have heard in a long time. It was the soundtrack to my life this year and my favorite album of 2018!

Gintama Chapter 696 Review
youtube
The final chapter is almost here. After this chapter, there’s only two more to go. What does this chapter cover? Is it Yorozuya’s reunion? Joui Three versus Tendoshu? It’s neither of them, though there were a little build to them. Instead, it covered the greatest hero of the universe: Madao! If you believe the countdown is a lie, I wouldn’t blame you at all. For now, let’s throw the countdown away and enjoy this chapter as it is, because it was pretty humorous all in all.
While the chapter largely focuses on Madao and his “newly discovered power,” there were other moments that builds up the anticipation of the climax. The final stage is set with Tendoshu landed on Earth as their cult battle against Edo. Despite Kuyou crashing on top of the Altana Terminal, they can still execute their plan as usual. What’s worse is that they can also deploy smaller ships to send reinforcements. Essentially, it becomes a new warfare. It might end up as the shortest war ever if there’s only two chapters left.
What Tendoshu wants is to spread immortality across the universe. On the surface, that sounds fantastic; clearly, they’re the true heroes. In context, it is madness, even if one wants to live forever. We already saw what happened with Utsuro, so you can expect everyone to experience the same outburst. Plus the population growth will be maddening.
Sakamoto continues to be the star of attraction with his words of wisdom. I’m seriously glad Sorachi didn’t leave him behind just because he’s not part of Shouyo’s disciples. He still can offer something for his friends and that is inspiring speeches. The one troubling feeling they faced is choosing the path and instead of leaving them to decide alone, he assures them that their friends will be behind them all the way. Whether they choose to kill or save Shouyo, they will be there to see it through, because this is their fight. His words benefits greatly to the theme of not just the arc, but the series itself.
When there’s a war going on, you can expect Shinseigumi to be fighting. It’s funny that Kondo does have a valid reason to not understand what they’re doing since he’s been with the gorillas for so long. So long that he remixes his words with his native and gorilla’s language. Oh wait, did I say something redundant? Sougo is savage as usual and happy to know that Kondo still has his human mentality left. Like I said, living with gorillas for too long.
It’s always a good feel moment with Shinseigumi; fighting like they are made to do. It’s like what Kondo said in the flashback: Shinseigumi will never disband. All this nostalgia talk reeks the series is ending feel, but it won’t be complete until Yorozuya finally returns. Shinpachi and Kagura already left, so it’s only matter of time for the actual reunion that fans will be satisfied. Unless we get trolled. That’s all for the buildup to the ending side; now, let’s focus on the main superstar, Madao.
From the beginning of the chapter, the news broadcast is recording the war as they are left bewildered if this is all related to the staged Zurump’s assassination. At least we know Katsura’s plan has worked. With that said, they need a hero to stop this madness. It’s been while that we’ve last seen Hanano Ana, but before the series’ end, there she is reporting live. Last time I get to read that punned name. The citizens are now safe from danger, because here comes our greatest hero of all time. Madao has entered the stage and don’t worry, he’s only sweating due to warm temperature.
Joking aside, this is all around hilarious. Not going to lie, he got what’s coming for pulling off the lie he has been living under. That said I’m glad Sorachi didn’t leave him with a false ending. The amount of pressure was getting to him pretty bad, so he begins to stumble. That crummy sword of his is called Unemployecalibur, which is goofy but so like him, and yet he later calls it Neetcalibur. He’s not even trying to hide his false identity. I’ll bet he has plagiarized.
It’s a Gintama fashion with Madao acting like he’s about to kick ass and chew bubble gum, only to be down-struck by a cursed flame; whatever that means. All the lies he’s spouting is so ridiculous, but that’s how he works things out. Too bad it gets worse for him with Samurai arriving to the scene. At first, he play along and act like a citizen, so he must evacuate the area, but then one of the group recognizes him. What should he do now?
He has the nerve to upturned his chin and break his crappy sword like a stick. That certainly feels nostalgic. That sword was made out of Styrofoam. Hey, you don’t know the power of the Styrofoam! It’s stupid enough that he pulled this off, but it actually works on the Samurai. Wow. It almost went well, until another group shows up and basically reset the dilemma. They’re the good guys and they too want Madao to come for their aid. What should he do now?
He hyped up the moment of his dynamic entry to the battlefield; preparing to restore peace in Edo. But before he could do that, he has to tie his shoe laces, even though they’re sandals. This guy is amazing. I can’t say it was working, but they were waiting for him. That is until the army from one of those small ships arrive. Not only Madao is screwed, but his laces broke off. What should he do now?
It’s at this point where the chapter breaks away from Madao and shows what’s happening elsewhere. I already gone over the moments, so it’s no need to repeat it here. After courageous and inspiring movements from the Samurai, the scene shifts back to the news broadcast, declaring Madao has passed away. Even when famous, he still gets “killed off.” The man can’t escape death. Of course, it’s not true, though pretty messed up to jump to that conclusion. Hell, they even killed off Ana. Even when she responded back, they believe she’s on a verge of death, so might as well declare her deceased. Savage news.
How can Madao explain on why he doesn’t fight back? His reason is his go-mode is so dangerous, when he fights, he kills everyone in sight. That includes Ana, and that’s why he won’t fight. I don’t know how much Madao can run his lies, but he’s pretty damn amazing at it. Finally, he hits the tipping point when he’s surrounded by troops. What should he do now? It’s only one way. He does an epic setup for a grand attack. I was a bit hyped honestly. He jumps high in the air and lands hard on the ground in a bowing positon. It’s his ultimate attack: begging for mercy! The best part is it works! I think?
What happens after he apologizes, a random explosion happens, taking out all of his enemies. He does a different pose, apologizes again, and another explosion occurs. This is just plain BS. Hilariously, he comes up with an explanation of his awakening power. Because of the cursed flame or mouth ulcers, it unlocks an explosive power. That’s very logical. Also, Madao isn’t the one that was apologizing; it was the incantation, “Aym Sah Ri.” He’s a national treasure of lies all right.
But the weird part is Ana also unlocked the power when the explosion in front of her happens. That means she too is special, right? Madao devalues her by inserting a new explanation. Apparently, she was able to do one because of his mouth ulcers spreading out its germ to hers. That’s one unnecessary explanation. All in all, Madao is one lucky S.O.B.; escaping with the lie that everyone believes. That doesn’t paint him the right color; it makes him look absolutely disgusting. Fortunately, Sorachi knows how to balance and eventually, redeems his character at the right time.
Despite all the luck he has, he doesn’t want to keep the hero title. Although I disagree with him on not doing anything special in the war, I understand what he meant. What bothered him is he was given all the achievements that Gintoki achieved; thus, giving him the main spotlight. Sure, he gained fame, fortune, ladies, and gourmets, but he wasn’t happy. All he wants is to spend drinking time with his drinking buddy. That’s why he’s still there; waiting to revisit the good old time. Dammit, Sorachi. Stop making them likeable.
Madao finally makes a proper apology because this time he means it. I was so touched that the next explosion will be epic. Well, it does happen, only it takes Madao out as well. Yeah, that’s karma at its finest. This begs the question. Who the hell was causing it? It’s freaking Prince Hata and his servant. What a full circle. To top it all off, they said the phrase of the chapter, “I’m sorry.” This is definitely Gintama all right.
This was a pretty fun chapter. I know a lot of fans are confused or wondering why the pacing remains the same as if the series isn’t ending yet. While putting that aside, the chapter does leave a really good setup for the most anticipated reunion. It’s all around non-sense with Madao pretending to be a hero that everyone wants, but not the one they should have. As comical it was, it also has charms when it reached the ending. Of course, Madao will be Madao when it comes to downfall, but that’s karma for you. Two chapters to go. What exactly is happening?

Silver hair and brown eyes, there was something familiar about her.
Sora tilted her head in the direction of the Divine Luck. She squinted at first, pursing her lips in thought before opting to speak. “Utsuro. It’s you, isn’t it?”
The lack of formality was confusing, seeing as Akane and even Sora herself had gone so far as to both call him Master. Though when Sora looked at him now, all that could be reflected was indifference. (Nekromania)
Utsuro looked at the woman and there was indeed something familiar about her. But he weren't sure how she is familiar. But, she woke his attention up.
"Hello. Yes I am Utsuro. Something is strangely familiar about you. Who are you ?"
Tumblr media
Utsuro didn't mind Sora's lack of formality nor her indifférence as he used to it.
