what happens when s5 shows max and lucas in the hospital... and we see max's old skateboard on the bedside table... and someone asks lucas about it and he admits he brought it to make her feel more at home ... and the camera pans into something max carved into the underside of her board.... and it's a heart carved with their initials L S + M M ...

( max would never do this herself, but lucas definitely convinced her while she called him a doofus. )

unpopular opinion:

the characters wearing rainbow does not give evidence of them being gay

(specifically in Stranger Things)

(example: max’s rainbow bed sheets)

We all know the 80’s are known for the crazy amount of color everyone wore. A LOT of people wore crazy colors in the 80’s. I will say rainbows, specifically, weren’t worn very often, but it wasn’t that uncommon either, and when people did wear it (mostly) didn’t symbolize being queer.

The pride flag first started being used in 1978. So around the time everyone in the party was born. Homosexuality is looked down on by many people in the show (not the actual actors, just their characters). We all know how it wasn’t widely accepted, meaning there wouldn’t really be a way for Max (or anyone in the party really) to get educated on the gay community. (hence will being ashamed of being gay)

BUT we all know the duffers brothers (tbh i prefer the suffer brothers) are known for throwing in little hints like that, so i’m not ruling it out.
