@lumier09 sent me some rice, green tea and umeboshi to get my ass in gear and finally make this :D :D Ah, the things we do for blorbo... (Shimi Chazuke)

Can recommend though! I used a bit too much rice for my own tastes (and the flower shape was impossible to achieve for now), but the filling healthy sense of 'this is good for you' of the rice and tea, and the delicious teriyaki eel, were such a good balance and a great sense of who Wanderer is, to me at least. Can definitely see him making this for people he cares about :')

Will attempt again and continue to perfect! :D

I initially planned this as an illustration for Chapter 5, “Unmade, Remade,” but now I think it fits better as the cover for the “Wisdom's Shadow” arc, where Nahida makes the difficult decision to devise a plan to convey the truth about the events in Tatarasuna 400 years ago to Balladeer.

Lumier cooked again T_T

I titled this story 'Wisdom's Shadow' partly because Scaramouche is / Wanderer ends up becoming Nahida's kagemusha of sorts, but also because Nahida's curiosity has a dark side. I am adamant to see her as more than perfect, cute and innocent. She's morally grey too, albeit a light grey.

She did earn the Balladeer's trust fully knowing she was going to shatter it by trapping him with that memory, even if it was for his own good. She did not give him a choice, and he did end up doing something very drastic in reaction. And she *accounted* for that, too.

Wanderer: Lesser Lord Kusanali, you purposely left that information in Irminsul, didn't you? 

Nahida: Yes, and I took pains to make sure that you'd acquire that information naturally. 

Wanderer: Why would you go to such lengths? You trying to win me over too? 

Nahida: In all honesty, your past experiences have made you a useful asset to Sumeru and to me. Winning you over was indeed a part of my plan.

She planted this sapling of trust in the shadow, and she's intrigued by the seeds into which it fell apart. I love my eldritch radish daughter, the scariest of all Archons.

(Wanderer: Anyway, it's probably a good thing that you have a mean streak. I don't think I could stand to be around you if you were completely incorruptible.)

We nicknamed him San-kun as he's the 'third incarnation' :') Look at those bright innocent eyes!! It should be illegal! This is my boy, yet the furthest thing from my boy, yet also what lives at the very core of my boy, guiding his every action even now...

I know he already has many themes to himself and his outfit, but surely there'd be a way to fit butterflies in there somewhere. :P
