Hey question; If Luming was born from Qin Yi's wish, does that directly make Qin Yi Luming's parent?? Like obviously headcanons exist for parental/child or big/little sibling relationships between them, but like. Would, that be the closest to a biological parent Luming has other than the Lake of Wishes??

Story - summarized

Luming is on a mission to fulfill a wish in Yue Prefecture City. One small problem: the wish belongs to a goldfish, and he has no idea where to start.

He gets a fish lantern to store the Wish Lantern in while he searches. The marketplace is filled with hot, sweet cakes and passionate storytellers, and he runs into you, the player. The two of you decide to fulfill the wish together.

The Wish Lantern guides him to the nearby pond where the fish used to live. Luming finds out that someone had gathered fish from the pond earlier this morning to sell at the market.

Finally, they find the right vendor... but someone just bought the last goldfish. Luming hurries to catch up with the family. The little girl with the goldfish sees the bright lantern that Luming has. She offers her fish for the lantern.

He gladly accepts. As the family walks away, the lantern inside dissolves into stardust. The wish is almost complete. You and Luming return to the pond and release the goldfish into the water. It reunites with its old friend, a piece of alga floating on the surface.

The both of you return to the festival, determined to enjoy the snacks and the entertainment. One such play you pass is Qin Yi's play about sacrificing a goldfish to be accepted by others. He spots you two in the crowd, and he swears he saw a goldfish.

Connections

-We met Luming during the first Chinese New Year event, Wishes on the Cloud. It was the first time he was able to leave the Lake of Wishes, and we learn more about his birth, existence, and job in his Reflection for Cloud Benediction.

-Goldfish are usually a good omen, but in Qin Yi's memories for Mind Maze 3, he ended up killing his beloved pet fish in order to convince the Qin family to take him in as their "long-lost son."

-The story of the goldfish reuniting with the pond alga parallels the story of Lingwu the Tiger and Yuntan the Flower: two friends promise to meet each other again later, and encounter obstacles along the way.

-"Yue" means moon, and it's pronounced "yuAY" (all one syllable).

-Alga is the singular of "algae," and it encompasses all aquatic, photosynthetic organisms, from plankton to kelp. Algae are neither plants nor animals, but instead protists.

even though he acts so chill on the outside, deep down he’s actually more worried about you.

that someone you bumped into was actually a fatui agent.

you and kazuha were casually strolling the streets of liyue until you started spacing out and bumped into the fatui agent. effectively making you fall on your ass and a little dizzy from the impact.

the agent wasn’t too happy about it, so they tried to attack you. kazuha didn’t let that happen though, as he predicted that attack years ago and blocked them with his sword.

you heard weapons clashing for a few seconds until there was pure silence. you rubbed your eyes and looked up at a solemn-looking kazuha with his hand reaching out to you. (when you asked what happened he passed it off as nothing, he didn’t want to concern you)

kazuha kept note to always accompany you in your travels no matter where you choose to go.

he’s aware you’re smart in your own way, so he would never dream of insulting that. if someone were to insult you though, oh, he isn’t holding back.

about the item that you had the misfortune of peeking into, it was a sort of poison.

his ears flicker as he heard you coughing, and he rushes to you. dropping whatever he was doing at the moment to see you. it was a good thing he had an antidote on him for that poison, so he used it on you.

after you got back to your senses, he softly scolded you about ‘touching things that aren’t yours blah blah blah’

Story - summarized

It's really hard to get tickets to the newest December Troupe play, Night of Twin Queens. But Momo has an idea on how to get a few tickets: audition for the little reindeer! That part still hasn't been filled, and as an actor he could snag some tickets for friends.

Momo takes you and Nikki to visit Luming at the Lake of Wishes. He gladly offers to help the little cat fulfill his wish of getting tickets. They work together to design a cute reindeer costume, complete with the antlers and ears. Momo also practices deer mannerisms like nuzzling and prancing.

Finally, it's the day of the audition! Momo captures everyone's hearts, and the two actresses playing the queens adore his costume. Even Loen came to show support for Momo!

...But the judge says that Momo's costume is too much like Cloud deer instead of Ninir reindeer. Someone else gets the role.

Dejected, Momo follows you and Nikki back to your apartment. Loen sends a consolation gift, as do Modric and Lolory who are part of the production crew for the show. Everyone showers Momo in sympathy. Nikki even cooks plates and plates of BBQ for him, and he perks up once more!

While you all eat, Momo shares his design on Moments. It's an instant hit. And Nikki hears back that although Momo didn't win the audition, you all receive tickets to the play! Momo still got his wish in the end.

Connections

-This top-up suit is tied to December Troupe, but since Momo didn't get picked as an actor, it's not a Styling Competition suit.

-The judge for the audition is Mr. Ande. We first met him in Vol. 1 Chapter 2, when he was judging the Starheaven Swan. He's nicer and more polite here than he was the first time he met Nikki... and when he met Ashley.

-Momo has helped Nikki with two plays, but he only mentions one here: December Troupe had already seen him in Flower and Jenny, but he also rehearsed lines with Nikki in Green Pastoral.

Fun Facts

-Even though Luming knows all about being a deer (since he was born one), his knowledge doesn't extend beyond Cloud, which is why despite his best efforts to help Momo, he knew nothing about reindeer.

-Loen likes to tease Nikki and Momo that he could still charge them a commission, but this time he reaches out to Momo for free. He may joke and poke fun at the cat, but at heart he does care.

Here it is !! the finished illustration of the new Ghoulettes !! they've been on my mind for two weeks now, im happy i was able to do something that i like with them !!!

i think i'll post ref sheets of their designs in the next few days, as well as some other sketches i did !

quick explanation for their names : i really liked Eden and followed that idea, and because i feel like cellos are water/bass instrument i looked up what seas where important in the Bible and how they were called at different time periods and found that the dead sea was called Nekra in ancient greek, and the red sea Erythra. Lume was already popular, and i actually enjoy it so i just kept it like for Eden !
