conceptually the idea that the tullys privately decided jaime was gay after ignoring-lysa-and-twirling-his-hair-at-brynden-gate is really really funny. like lysa honey don’t be upset it wasn’t your fault i’ve never even seen him look at a girl. oh he joined the kingsguard? so he never has to get married or father children? (meaningful glance) good for him. i suppose. wasn’t until the clash stannis gossip girl blast that they considered an alternative theory

its sooo devastating how the survivors of robert’s rebellion that we meet are all, at least in some ways, stuck at the age they were during the war. ned thinks of both lyanna and seeing the dead bodies of elia/aegon/rhaenys in the throne room constantly and it impacts so many of his decisions. cersei’s behavior— catty rivalries with teenage girls, whining at tyrion all through acok to make tywin come back to KL, etc— is more like that of a sixteen year old than a 32 year old. catelyn’s been pissed about ned bringing jon home for literally fourteen whole years at the start of the story. even lysa tully is still pining after petyr like a teenage girl in love despite barely seeing him for a decade and a half… tfw you will never get over the things that happened to you when you were seventeen

tyrion lannister, worst-best prisoner in westeros. spends the whole journey up the high road to the eyrie befriending his captors. commits a whole separate crime and gains a wicked shadowcat cloak (luckily singers are not people and thus not protected by the law). demands trial by combat upon the assumption that a) his new pal thinks he's too funny to die and b) his new pal would do anything for a cheque. steals a vale government employee by offering him better workplace benefits. thinks multiple times "i should probably stop insulting the people who hold my life in their hands" and then defends his life with a stand up routine so good, a whole court of people who hate him are laughing out loud. sends the mountain clans to besiege his former prison. the whole time he knows more about who actually committed the crime than anyone. overall, a net LOSS for house stark and the eyrie and a net GAIN for tyrion lannister.
