Peyton's Next Movie Role

Peyton Elizabeth Lee's next movie is "Wildwood", an animated film where she will voice the main teen character of Prue McKell. It's set for release in theaters in 2025, and is based on a series of novels by Colin Meloy and illustrator Carson Ellis.

Wildwood is the sixth stop-motion animation film from Laika Studios in Portland, Oregon. Above, Peyton is shown at the studio where she did her voice work. Portland is also the setting for the story.

According to the studio, "Beyond Portland, Oregon’s city limits lies Wildwood. You’re not supposed to go there. You’re not even supposed to know it exists. But Prue McKeel is about to enter this enchanted wonderland. Her baby brother Mac has been taken by a murder of crows into the forest’s depths, and she – along with her hapless classmate Curtis – is going to get him back.

"Prue might think she’s too old for fairytales, but she’s just found herself at the center of one. One filled with strange talking animals, roguish bandits, and powerful figures with the darkest intentions."

The voice cast also includes Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, Tom Waits and Richard E. Grant.

Peyton's most recent TV series, Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., ended after two seasons in August, 2023. Her breakout hit series, Andi Mack, ended in 2019 after three seasons.

HATES social rules but will play by them out of necessity. her anger comes out through her art.

likes: painting, reading, fighting, cats.

dislikes: accidentally going too far, unnecessary cruelty, having to figure out emotions (she doesn't feel them quite right)

right, todd, they/them. almost a literal psych patient, broke out when they figured out he was a ghoul (chaos. so much chaos), but not before stealing a pair of scrubs. and grippy socks. will probably go on to kill shiro and kuro's parents. house m.d. levels of no filter, prone to meltdowns. SO MUCH AUTISM. likes to use his kagune to stim and is thoroughly of the opinion that (almost) anything is a mask if you're brave enough (unless he doesn't like it. then you're an idiot for trying it. of course. :) )

likes: fast motion stims, breaking stuff, analyzing literature (even tho they're bad at it sometimes)

dislikes: construction paper. what the FUCK is that, who made it, and why?? also lies.

Reginald Cliff Ingram, M.D., better known as Rex Ingram, graduated from Northwestern University, where he was an athletic star and earned his Doctor of Medicine. Ingram graduated with honors and was the first member of the university to cross as Phi Beta Kappa. Soon after, Ingram left for California to practice medicine but soon realized that he would never attain his ambitions as a doctor because "the white man was too thoroughly ensconced in the mantle of science," and he found that they relegated him to clean up after them.

So instead, he decided to pursue an acting career. In July 1936, Ingram said in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, "For weeks, I hung around the studios of Hollywood waiting for a chance. I had many ambitions, most of which concerned raising my people's intellectual and cultural standards. But a man must eat, so when they offered a job as an extra, I took it. I appeared first as the cannibal chief in 'Tarzan of the Apes in 1918. Elmo Lincoln was the star." After several small roles throughout the silent era, Ingram finally caught his big break in "The Green Pastures."

Rex appeared in "Cabin in the Sky" (1943) and "Anna Lucasta" (1958), giving an outstanding performance for moviegoers. He has an excellent speaking voice and captures the attention of many. Rex is a pioneering actor that has paved ways for many African performers today.

William Windom (September 28, 1923 – August 16, 2012) Film, stage and television actor. Known as a character actor of the stage and screen, he is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Dr. Seth Hazlitt alongside Angela Lansbury in the CBS mystery series Murder, She Wrote (1984–1996).

Windom made his television debut in 1949 in the NBC anthology series The Philco Television Playhouse. He continued acting in shows such as Studio One, Masterpiece Playhouse, Omnibus, and Kraft Television Theatre. During this time he also appeared on The Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, Mission: Impossible, and Star Trek.  

His first leading role in television came in the sitcom The Farmer's Daughter (1963–1966), a series (based on the 1947 film) about a young Minnesota woman (played by Inger Stevens) who becomes the housekeeper for a widowed congressman (Windom), which ran for three seasons.

 He then gained acclaim in his television career for his portrayal of cartoonist John Monroe in the short-lived NBC sitcom My World and Welcome to It (1969–1970) winning him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

He then guest starred in various programs including Columbo, Night Gallery, Marcus Welby M.D., and Quincy M.E. before gaining acclaim for his a recurring role on CBS's mystery series Murder, She Wrote (1986-1996) portraying Dr. Seth Hazlitt of Cabot Cove opposite Angela Lansbury. During this time he would also appear on the shows St. Elsewhere, Magnum, P.I., Newhart, L.A. Law, and Murphy Brown as well as voicing Uncle Chuck in Sonic the Hedgehog. His final television appearances include roles in Fox's Ally McBeal, and CBS's The District. (Wikipedia)

Inger Stevens (born Ingrid Stensland; October 18, 1933 – April 30, 1970)  Film, stage and Golden Globe-winning television actress.

Even though she appeared in major films she achieved her greatest success in the television series The Farmer's Daughter (1963–1966) with William Windom. Previously, Stevens had appeared in episodes of Bonanza, Route 66, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Eleventh Hour, Sam Benedict, The Aquanauts and The Twilight Zone, among many others.

Following the cancellation of The Farmer's Daughter in 1966, Stevens appeared in several films but at the time of her death, Stevens was attempting to revive her television career with the detective drama series The Most Deadly Game.  (Wikipedia)

for those of you who don't know, this is Lorna Luft, daughter of Judy Garland.

I just finished her family memoir, Me and My Shadows

The book fascinated me. I loved hearing from someone who experienced these hardships firsthand. It is clear she loves her family very much. She goes from writing the beginning of her mothers life, to 1998, almost 30 years after her death. And her mother is very much a shadow, as well as Liza's shadow. People comparing her to both her sister and her mother, probably didn't make her feel better about her own career, especially when she did so much to help Liza.

She talks about professional highs such as gaining roles in shows such as Promises, Promises, Snoopy the Musical, and The Extremists; movies such as Grease 2 and Where the Boys At? and tv shows such as Trapper John M.D. and Murder She Wrote; and professional lows, including missing out on roles in Hair and Cats. She writes of performing with her mother, her nightclub performances, partying at Studio 54, her first child, and Liza's career.

Since the publishing of the book, she has toured in her acclaimed one-woman show Songs My Mother Taught Me, produced the miniseries adaption of Me and My Shadows, done productions of Gypsy, Babes in Arms, The Wizard of Oz, and Holiday Inn, toured in many productions of Irving Berlin's White Christmas, written a book on A Star is Born, and has made frequent appearance at 54 Below.

Her next shows will be in Europe, touring in White Christmas once again and in February, will be performing once again at 54 Below in a new show entitled '70 Girl 70!'

Felton Perry (September 11, 1945) is an actor. He is most notable for his roles as Deputy Obrah Eaker in Walking Tall and as Inspector Early Smith in Magnum Force. His other well-known role is in RoboCop. He reprised his role as Johnson in the sequels RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3.

He is a playwright known for such plays as Buy the Bi and Bye which in 1976 the Progress Bulletin called an “offbeat and hilarious black satire with a zinging performance by Ron Thompson.”

A life member of the Actors Studio, he starred on Hooperman as Inspector Clarence McNeil. He has made guest appearances on many TV series, including 227, Adam-12, Ironside, Hill Street Blues, L.A. Hi everyone! This blog is going to be a bit different than my other ones as I'm going to start a Series of who I think are Best Directors Cinema has ever seen

And today I will be talking about the

STEVEN SPIELBERG

Steven Spielberg (born December 18, 1946, Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.) is an American motion-picture director and producer whose diverse films—which ranged from science-fiction fare, including such classics as Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982), to historical dramas, notably Schindler’s List (1993) and Saving Private Ryan (1998)—enjoyed both unprecedented popularity and critical success.

(Early Life)

Spielberg developed an interest in filmmaking as a child, and during his teens his Escape to Nowhere (1962), a 40-minute war movie, won first prize at a film festival. He next directed Firelight (1964), a feature-length science-fiction yarn, which was followed by an accomplished short about hitchhikers called Amblin’ (1968). An executive at Universal Studios saw the latter film and tendered a contract to Spielberg, who began working in the studio’s television division after attending California State College, Long Beach (now California State University, from which he would eventually receive a B.A. in 2002). He directed episodes of various TV series, notably Columbo, Marcus Welby, M.D., and Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law. In 1971 he made his first television movie, Duel, a taut, almost claustrophobic exercise in psychosis that was more intense than typical TV fare (it was released theatrically in Europe). Although Spielberg permitted star Dennis Weaver—who played a motorist chased by a homicidal truck driver—to register a one-note impression of sweaty terror throughout the movie, his handling of the action sequences was staged and executed with bravado. The success of Duel enabled Spielberg to make theatrically released motion pictures, beginning with The Sugarland Express (1974), a chase picture with deft accents of comedy but an inexorable movement toward tragedy; it was anchored by Goldie Hawn’s performance.

Spielberg’s next movie, Jaws (1975), established him as a leading director, and it was one of the highest-grossing films ever. It featured Roy Scheider as the police chief of a resort town who battles a man-eating white shark. Joining him are Richard Dreyfuss as a marine biologist and Robert Shaw as a shark hunter. The highly praised thriller received an Academy Award nomination for best picture, and its ominous soundtrack by John Williams won an Oscar. The film all but created the genre of summer blockbuster big action-packed movie released to an audience grateful to be in an air-conditioned theatre and it established many of the touchstones of Spielberg’s work: an ordinary but sympathetic main character is enlightened through a confrontation with some extraordinary being or force that gradually reveals itself as the narrative unfolds.Spielberg’s next film was even more successful. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) was a moving exploration of an alien encounter that cleverly eschewed the epic scale of Close Encounters for the microcosm of its effect on a single California family. Henry Thomas gave a strong performance as the boy who discovers and befriends the stranded alien, and Dee Wallace portrayed his sympathetic mom. The film also featured Drew Barrymore in one of her first roles. As with most Spielberg films to that point, the special effects were a large part of the movie’s appeal in this case, the wonderfully articulated E.T. but it was Spielberg’s mastery of human (and alien) emotion that made the movie a blockbuster. Both Spielberg and the film were nominated for Academy Awards, as were Melissa Mathison’s screenplay, Allen Daviau’s cinematography, and Williams’s score; only the latter won.

His Filmmaking Style

Spielberg often uses storyboards to visualize the sequences, with the exceptions being in E.T. and The Color Purple. After the experience of filming Jaws, Spielberg learned to leave special effect scenes until last, and exclude the media from filming locations. Spielberg prefers to shoot quickly, with large amounts of coverage (from single-shot to multi-shot setups), so that he will have many options in the editing room. From the beginning of his career, Spielberg's shooting style consisted of extreme high and low camera angles, long takes, and handheld cameras. He favors wide-angle lens for creating depth, and by the time he was making Minority Report, he was more confident with elaborate camera movements.

His Inspiration

Spielberg has cited Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life (1946) as an influence on "family, community and suburbia". He enjoyed the work of Alfred Hitchcock,David Lean, John Ford, Stanley Kubrick and John Frankenheimer. In college, he was inspired by foreign films directed by Ingmar Bergman, Jacques Tati and François Truffaut. Truffaut was one of his favorite directors. Spencer Tracy has also influenced the characters of Spielberg's films, as did The Twilight Zone series.

He made 3 movies in the span of 4 years from 1971-1975 which included Duel (1971), The Sugarland Express (1974) and Jaws (1975). He also made movies like Close Encounters with the 3rd Kind (1977), 1941 (1979),Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981),E.T. (1982),Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom (1984),The Color Purple (1985),The Empire of the Sun (1987), Indiana Jones Last Crusade (1989) and Hook (1991).

In 1993, he made some of the most influential movies such as Jurrasic Park and Schindler's List. He made the sequel of Jurrasic Park with Amistad in 1997. Went on to make Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks in 1998.

After the turn of the century, He went on to make movies such as AI (2001),Catch me If You Can with Tom Hanks and Leornado Di Caprio (2002). He made movies like The Terminal (2004) and The 3rd part of the Indiana Jones Series named Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). Since then he has made movies like Adventures of Tintin and Warhorse (2011),Lincoln (2012),Bridge of Spies (2015),The BFG (2016),The Post (2017),Ready Player One (2018),West Side Story (2021) and Fabelmans (2022)

In during his 20 year old career, Spielberg's films have earned more than 338 nominations including the Academy Awards,The BAFTA's and the Golden Globe Awards.

His films has won 35 Academy Awards out of the 147 Nominations, 22 BAFTA's out of 116 Nominations and 16 Golden Globe Awards out of 75 Nominations.

(Legacy)

A figure of the New Hollywood era, Spielberg is widely regarded as one of the most influential and commercially successful film directors of all time. Some of his films were in the top ten highest-grossing films of the 1970s and 1980s, with Jaws, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Jurassic Park all becoming the highest-grossing film ever at the time of their respective releases. In 1996, Life magazine named Spielberg the most influential person of his generation. In 2003, Premiere magazine ranked him first place in the list of 100 Most Powerful People in Movies. In 2005, Empire magazine ranked him number one on a list of the greatest film directors of all time. In 2013, Time magazine listed him as one of the 100 most influential people. According to Forbes' magazine of Most Influential Celebrities of 2014, Spielberg was ranked at first place. As of December 2022, Forbes estimates his net worth at $4 billion.
