lost township: the homegame

howdy yall :D i made a post like this a while ago that very much needed to be updated and i simply talk about and tag characters from lost township a lot so i wanted to have an easy place to reference for what in the hell im talking about and something to throw at people when i want to infodump. so!!

the game:

lost township is a d&d homegame set in a fictionalized, magical 1880s wild west. its set in the american-equivalent country the democracy of silver and includes all of the magic that we know from typical d&d games. it's based in the town of lost, in the state of undersun, sandwiched between harsh deserts and the mountains

the pcs:

cass bluebell - she/her - human drunken master monk - played by @strangetorpedos

cass is the owner of the saloon in lost and mother to adopted 6 year old davey. she's stoic, fair, and always just a little too weary for all the things on her plate. she took over the saloon about 5 years ago after the murder of her mother by the mysterious assassin the brownbird, and spent years trying to solve the murder to no avail (until recently). middle aged repressed lesbian on main, didn't sign up for this shit - art

divine shook - she/her - aasimar eloquence bard + oath of the bear paladin - played by @masculinepeacock

divine is the schoolteacher in lost and lives with her wife sarah and brother-in-law hawk. former southern belle of the rich intervention family, now barely scraping by as the breadwinner of the household. chronically babygirl coded, ultimate bambi lesbian. is the angel of the deer god of poetry but currently follows the bear god of fire and families and talks to her god like she's her mom (she is in their hearts). currently dating(?) sheriff lizzie - tag

maeve marigold - she/her - kalashtar psychopomp sorcerer - played by kaity

maeve is a former sex worker turned recently hired psychopomp of the raven queen, soon to be doing the psychopomp thing full time. she always has the most insane response possible no matter what the question was and does not know how to read. she also did not know what a psychopomp was when she agreed to be one. is currently under the tutelage of latrowe, the raven queen's current psychopomp, and has been being plagued by dreams and nightmares she knows aren't her own

morel - they/them - firbolg knowledge cleric / spores druid - played by @floralprintshark

morel is the local witch doctor and prophet of the god of fungi and decay. lived on the outskirts of lost for many years, providing free healthcare to the vulnerable townsfolk who weren't safe with the town's stuffy doctor. after pining for years, finally in a relationship with cat after the "unfortunate" murder of her former husband, and jointly raising her daughter kitten and their mysteriously delivered baby juniper. goth sad cow - tag

onion - they/he/she - fey shepherd druid / fey wanderer ranger - played by @paladinbaby

onion is a smuggler and deliverer of changelings who was introduced to the party with the task of safely transporting them from lost to the neighboring state. he's Fey Neurodivergent and a bit of a grumpy messy dyke (gender neutral) who doesn't have a ton of connections but cares about his people very deeply. chosen family with waylon squad and best friends with brandi - tag

will orville - he/him - werewolf gunslinger fighter - played by @punkbarbarian

will is an "investigator" (mercenary) who was brought to town under instructions to find and kill the brownbird and then ended up staying because he is a big old sad puppydog who needed to learn to love again and is. he is so so autism dad on main and cries at the drop of a hat (affectionate). currently dating scruggs, the first relationship he's been in since his husband was killed 13 years ago - tag

white hat assassin and angel of the jackalope god of chaos and death. her father was the singular prophet of her god who was responsible for raising the jack to godhood until he was assassinated when she was a young child. now she kills mostly bad men, mostly other followers of the jack. despite that he's both very excitable and very wet n pathetic babygirl hours and pretty much just wants to be cared for. long-time best friends with onion and in a Situationship (derogatory) with lizzie - tag

divine's wife and hawk's sister, golden retriever wife guy on main always. excitable, loving, intensely adhd, spends their time gardening, talking folks ears off at the market, and reading smutty books with her wife. refuses to process any of her childhood and she's so normal about it. has a bear cub made of fire named honeysuckle that she was gifted by the bear god. currently making eye emojis at morel and cat - tag

sarah's brother and divine's brother in law. trying his best but unfortunately his best is not great, fiercely protective and caring but not good at the whole adulting thing. so far unsuccessful at holding down a job but is now working (hopefully long term) for cass at the saloon. slutty, gay, too autistic for his own good. was the originator of the plan for him, sarah, and divine to leave their homestate and find a new place to live after working for divine's awful parents for years - tag

former child criminal and enemy of the state turned refugee, now waylons "bodyguard" (read: gets paid to do fuckall). big burly russian man, chronic big brother disease, gentle giant who loves to cook and be silly. tboy swag. has to keep up a reputation around town for being mean and tough but is way more emotionally intelligent and caring than most people give him credit for. currently in Some Sort Of Relationship with will (read: they uhauled and haven't talked about it) - tag

used to be just a regular coyote, got chosen by morel's god to be a gift to the raven queen and become her psychopomp. showed up in maeve's dreams for a while and is now in the process of training her to be the new psychopomp cause he really misses being. just a dog. very formal and stoic when he's not eating out of your trash, fights with a cool glowing dagger

roo panes - he/him - tiefling scribes wizard

a religious researcher who was supposed to be cataloguing the pantheons of the democracy but ended up parking in lost for a while to study the jack (autism special interest alert). ultimate nerd, way too talkative, twink who's one stiff breeze away from having his bi awakening. currently has a puppy crush on kelsey and hasn't put together that's why scruggs is mean to him

9. who do they admire? why?

will admires lots of people for a variety of reasons. he admires divine for her outspokeness and compassion for others, morel for their wisdom and level-headedness, cass for her strength and dedication, maeve for her sense of humor and matter-of-factness, scruggs for his kindess and thoughtfulness. although he and onion haven't known each other that long, he admires their work ethic and how they take care of others <3

16. which member of their family are they the most fond of, if any?

ough. he wuvs his family so so much, but i do think he has a special love for tori as his baby sister. also divine bc she is his Daughter

29. are they very in tune with their mind/body?

he is now, after a lot of self reflection and practice. for a few years he decidedly ignored a lot of what his mind and/or body were telling him because he has Problems. but now he understands and accepts himself a lot more :)

69 - how would they describe their party members

onion has only known these people for a morning so doesn’t have like super defined opinions yet but is definitely starting to get a read on people as much as he can

divine. (aasimar bard/paladin) clocked that divine was very excited by them but hasn’t really had a chance to interact. onion doesn’t know why divine went to go visit the sheriff but did judge her for it

will. (werewolf, has a gun?) small angry man. will is lucky scruggs vouched for him because it means onion finds him kind of endearing rather than a nuisance

maeve. (psychopomp) knows the least about maeve except for that maeve looked at them really intently when they introduced themselves and they didn’t love it

morel. (firbolg cleric/ mushroom druid) the closest to someone onion can relate to. they are both pretty old and pretty weird. on a different day they would have been so excited to get to meet morel

cass. (saloon owner. monk) is a bluebell so gets points for that, loses points for the fact that she has got onion dragged into an annalise situation even if it isn’t really her fault

nettle:

nox. (tiefling divination wizard. librarian) literally just a guy (affectionate) like i don’t think she knows that nox was the one to ask for her to be made a librarian and i think if she did she would feel a bit bad about asking to be made a guardian instead and also nox maybe still thinks nettle hit on their cousin (she didn’t, she gave him her number strictly in case of emergency) but also she has a lot of respect for nox as the guy like ,,, keeping the wheels on this thing and finding the things they’re looking for and the places they need to be

kai. (sun monk/ rogue. guardian) i think without kai nettle would still be way more shut off than she is because he’s the only one she’s seen get angry about the situation lensa has put them in when the two of them said that the party should be allowed to do a little murder. they were the first person she really tried to talk to. he’s her favourite buddy to do minor vandalism and theft with. she thinks about the fact that he wrapped a bandana around the iron knife in her bag to stop her burning her hands at least once a day

bo. (ranger/ protection cleric. guardian) she does not know what to think of bo really at all. i think she clocked very quickly that her acceptance into the team was absolutely dependant on what bo thought of her (or at least this was her read on the situation) and then she very publicly advocated for them being able to do murder against what he was saying. they have breakfast together now when she’s in the library to make breakfast and he opened up to her for the first time the last breakfast they had. she thinks he is too nice for the situation they are in but she also doesn’t want him to be disappointed in her.

3. what is their goal right now?

to figure out literally any way she can protect divine or keep her safe. divine is going like. the one place she can't follow and things are happening that neither of them understand and lizzie just wants a way to be Useful but is kind of floundering. she's strong and she's smart and neither of those are as useful as lizzie being There With Her and she's not happy about that

14. what is something they love about themself?

lizzie very much prides herself on her intelligence and frankly not much else. being smart has gotten her out of a lot of trouble but its. gotten her Into a lot of trouble too

28. who would they kill? who would they kill for?

this is a very complicated question. she would have to be so extremely pressed in order to do something like that because she's simply never taken a life before and doesn't know if she could

40. do they enjoy poetry?

i think she does. i think she understands subtly and she understands sometimes the best way to say something is by not saying it at all

66. who makes them feel warm?

right now, definitely scruggs and kelsey, though she would be hard pressed to admit it. colter on rare occasion he's genuine and isn't acting like an ass. and i think divine definitely has a high chance to Start but for so long has just made her feel so !!!!???? and keyed up and Confused and Flustered that like. warmth is such a calm emotion compared to how she feels around divine. but i think yes once they start like. acclimating to each other

69. how would they describe their party members?

cass - i think lizzie really respects cass but also has every intention of giving her her distance. they didn't exactly have a great relationship because cass didnt know why lizzie wasnt trying harder to find virginia's killer and now that it's out in the open lizzie doesnt want to be like. yeah sorry for not telling you? so it's just Messy. but cass is like. a respectable business owner and staple of the town who keeps a lot of the local troublemakers in check so lizzie like. does appreciate her from afar

maeve - maeve is. an odd case to lizzie. because she's not working with the official house. and is definitely too smart for her own good at gathering information and putting things together. but she doesn't necessarily?? cause trouble?? so lizzie is Suspicious of like. what she's using this info for. but isn't going to do anything about it if maeve doesnt

morel - lizzie has her ear to the ground and knows morel does good work as a healer. she has like. Some loyalty to dr clark just as a fellow devotee of sidewinder but also. knows he's a fucking ass who doesn't help a lot of the more vulnerable people. and now that cat and kitten are living with morel too and clearly trust them very much, and morel is trying to integrate into the town more, i think she like. cautiously trusts them but just doesn't know them very well and doesn't like that. lizzie likes knowing everything all the time

will - her brothers cringefail boyfriend. okay joke but. she was Not On Board with waylon bringing in will to kill brandi and he did earn some points with her for not doing that and also (attempting to) tell off waylon for it. him being a mercenary does not sit right with her but scruggs has told her many good things. so she's like. he makes you happy but he's on thin fucking ice. she doesnt love how fast scruggs and will are moving

divine - confusing but hopeful. it's just Messy when you've been secretly in love with someone for years after not knowing you can feel romantic attraction but also they're married and then you arrest their brother out of frustration because they yelled at you in front of everyone about something that was actually you doing a good thing but there was no way for them to know that and then you kind of get together but cautiously except you also dont know how serious its gonna be because you dont know they know youre apart of a very hated minority group and simply dont know how to drop that bomb and also youre both girls. and paladins now. and you just want to kiss but their god made them a soldier without asking. and now theyre going to your homestate that you absolutely cannot go back to and you cant tell them why. does that answer the question. because it doesnt for lizzie. girl is going insane

onion - you know the aunt who your siblings and dad are way closer to and you just kind of have an awkward relationship with them and dont really like each other much but dont want to be a bitch so you just dont say anything but then come across like a bitch anyway. yeah.

the fact that will has has So Much happen to him in the last week is so funny to me. he lost his horse, got heatstroke, and then got involved in a murder mystery where he has been told to bring the murderer to justice (dead or alive) by some guy whose main character traits are that he smells and is a bitch

i am also obsessed with everything going on with the other pcs. the drama? phenomenal. i will be thinking about maeve and latrowe for the next 7-10 business days bc holy shit. divine having a poly crisis while cass is just listening like🧍‍♂️morel keeping a rock from kitten in their pocket. FLINT AND THE SHOOK FAMILY. i am going bonkers i no longer can think of anything else
