Oh hey there, wandering soul. You’ve stumbled into my cozy corner of the internet—tea’s on the stove, there’s a cat somewhere you won’t see until the third paragraph, and stories are piled higher than my questionable life choices.

Welcome to my storytelling blog. I’m Cleo. Yes, like the queen, the psychic, or the cat—pick your favorite. I write tales that flirt with reality, charm the bizarre, and drag folklore out of the dusty archives to dance under disco lights. If you like your myths with a side of mischief, your fairy tales with teeth, and your narrators just a bit too self-aware? We’re going to get along famously.

So again, I’ve realized I don’t own any retellings of Peter Pan for Day 8 of #onceuponaretelling I promise I’ve got books for other days!!! I just don’t have any for a couple of them 🤷🏻‍♀️ BUT I’ve got a list and would love recommendations from you too! Always happy to expand my never ending library 📚 . Peter Pan is a favorite mostly because I was OBSESSED with anything Tinkerbell for years as a kid. I just loved her and her sass ❤️ I also love how Peter Pan reminds us to remember our inner child and never give up on those things that make us happy, the things we used to believe in. I’ve seen the Disney movie, a few live action ones, and a number of musicals that revolve around our dear Peter. And I cried like a baby with each and every story! It’s not that kids should never grow up, it’s that adults forget what it is to be a child. To believe in anything and everything until proven wrong, but sometimes even then refusing to let go of something so meaningful to you. I still choose to believe in all those stories about fairy tale magic that Disney and Pixar and Dreamworks (etc) and all the other movies, tv shows, and books tell us. "The amount of magic you experience in life is proportional to the amount of magic you believe is possible." @ashmi.path During my quite challenging writing project I take one afternoon a week off to go outside, get lost and create. Yesterday I started out quite late due to a lot of little things that keep happening. Through creating and taking pics I could not get rid of a little sadness, that it was already so late and the light was fading quickly.... but full of gratitude I surrendered to the moment, accepted it how it was and was about to go home, when a sudden thought came to my mind: How about I use the flashlight of my phone to bring a bit more light onto my creation. I took a few pics with indirect light from the front. Then I tried to place the phone behind the creation, it somehow slipped and fell, and all of the sudden there was the most incredible magic.
