crime show enjoyers, please help me out with some research for college!

i'm making a crime show title sequence for my final major project, but need to do some research first. so if you've got a minute, please let me know what you would expect to see in a crime show title sequence / things you've noticed they often include

I could literally watch these two solve cases all day.

These two actors perform the Liebermann family in VIENNA BLOOD. Meanwhile they performed a couple that almost have break up in Magpie Murders. When I knew these casting, I came to smile.

Hey can some one rec me some good detective thriller/murder mystery shows in the vein of Shows like Poirot/ Murder, she wrote/Only Murders in the Building/Magpie Murders etc. (Basically similar to Agatha Christie's work) if there's any?

I am kinda in the mood to watch more of that and yeah I know I can google but I don't want to read reviews and get spoilers...so if someone's got any rec pls reply so that I can check it out.

Maybe it’s just me.

But almost every mystery show I have ever seen Michael Maloney in.

He’s either usually the guilty party or he knows some serious edvidence that cracks the case. Or is tied into what happened somehow.

These are the ones I have seen and this is just my theory.

1. Inspector Lewis: He’s the killer

2. Death In Paradise: His affair with the victim is one of the reasons she died.

3. Midsomer Murders: The first episode he is in, he knows the big dark secret on why the murders are happening. The second episode, he is the killer.

4. Father Brown: The episode I have seen, he’s the killer. I know he’s in another one, but I haven’t seen it yet.

5.  Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators: He’s the guilty party, but he’s the good guy in the situation.

I just started Magpie Murders and I think he will be the killer in that simply from what I know of Anthony Horowitz’s writing. Also from what I know of Magpie Murders it’s inspired by Agatha Christie. She loved using misdirect to get everyone looking elsewhere when her suspect was hiding in plain sight.

I think that he’s casted in this type of role because he’s a talented actor whose good at playing those layered complicated characters that can be desperate or arrogant enough to commit murder.

When it comes to the big unmasking and show down scene with the guilty party you know that he can deliever a good show for the showdown between the guilty party and the sleuth.  

So basically if he shows up in a mystery show, he might be fishy.

After finally watching "Magpie Murders" I was looking up Matthew Beard's IMDB and was shocked to find out he's starring with Charlie Vickers in the upcoming thriller movie "Death in Shoreditch"!!! :D I knew more so about Charlie being in it but had no idea till now Matthew's in it too. Even more curious what this film is about now as loved Matthew's roles in "Magpie Murders" and of course being a fan of Charlie's from "Rings of Power".
