there’s a new pic of froy and zane and their friend nico being posted, and all the usual gay accounts on here are slobbering over it and completely ignoring that there is a girlfriend of theirs and nico’s in the photo, not crediting her by name for generously posting the photo or mentioning her at all??? like, nico is bi and her name is paloma. they have a relationship. she’s a person, she’s right there. 🙄

it’s just very annoying, maybe extra because i just watched red white and royal blue and it was a terrible adaptation that among other crimes, minimized or completely eliminated (or changed to men (!)) several key female characters.

I have seen a lot of back and forth on the responsibility of fans in noticing Mr. James Somerton was a rabid misogynist and like, a lot of it is kinda abstracted imo? I'm fucking bitter because he got away with spearheading harassment campaigns against real life women who brought up issues with his work, whether it was the misogyny, plagiarism, inaccuracies, or some combo of the above. I don't think all fans are equally culpable here, and I don't think general untargeted misogyny is benign, it's just that he used his audience and influence to bigoted ends.

I kinda dislike the memes that're like "I didn't know who this was before today, and now I hate him" like on one hand, I understand growing to loathe Somerton upon finding out what a bigoted hack he is, on the other it feels sort of sensationalist and voyeuristic...

I dunno. At least his ability to harm others has been reduced.

Hey can some one rec me some good detective thriller/murder mystery shows in the vein of Shows like Poirot/ Murder, she wrote/Only Murders in the Building/Magpie Murders etc. (Basically similar to Agatha Christie's work) if there's any?

I am kinda in the mood to watch more of that and yeah I know I can google but I don't want to read reviews and get spoilers...so if someone's got any rec pls reply so that I can check it out.

it's genuinely wild how much of wot fandom only remembers the sanderson takes and ascribe them to all literally 11 books that came before. like sandy's prose encourages this bc he loves recontextualizing earlier material to suit his bad writing but jesus

not saying i’m mad or anything but they really pulled two companions from the past that haven’t been mentioned this entire era and gave them all a long farewell from their doctors, devoted that episode to a question that nobody asked (whether the doctor likes being the doctor or not like WHAT) and ignored all the ones that did exist about the timeless child (which after going back and forth on it i’ve decided i hate it because they didn’t really DO anything with it they just have jo martin appear as a hologram for less than five minutes as a distraction thanks i guess) and for the doctor’s oldest friend, her best enemy, the one who’s supposed to be her equal, he’s at sanity’s end, he’s drowning and he gets one standalone vague line addressing her feelings for him. the Doctor doesn’t seem to care why and we can headcanon why that is all we want, it’s still not spoken and it absolutely should be.

every time they meet, the doctor and yaz put him down at every turn. nobody cares about why he’s like this and we can devote a whole episode to mental health and people not feeling like they’re enough and Yaz’s depression and we could easily make some connections with him but we’re not gonna do that because he’s just Evil(tm) and nuance doesn’t exist and the Doctor has to be right about everything and he deserves every bad thing that happens to him y’know including being handed over to the nazis which i will never forgive chibnall for thank you very much. every time there’s a chance for communication or atonement or to try and make things right they just waste it and want to spend that time focusing on some mediocre b plot that doesn’t even matter. again not saying i’m mad i’m just saying i hate it here and i want to off myself that’s all

ik that the jeranna fandom is practically nonexistent at this point but we do not talk enough about the blood sharing scene and how wildly erotic it was.

i mean yeah i think it was a dumb move fueled by teenage hormones and intrigue on jeremy’s part to commit self harm for the sake of provoking anna’s blood lust... but the way he goads her and she wants to give in to her vampiric impulses her nature so badly but anna also exhibits some control as she waits for jeremy to give permission - and he does! and then she str8 up drinks his blood which is amazing, because as we know from d.amon in s4 blood drinking is “personal” and a v intimate and vulnerable act for vampires. that would make sense, because it’s about the person being fed off of trusting the other vampire and willfully giving blood without being coerced under compulsion, and jeremy gave permission which just makes the scene 1000x better.

did either jeremy and anna know this at the time, that blood drinking is, as d.amon put it when he withheld the greater truth from elena, “personal,” or did the writers just add that bit in s4 to make d.elena more “saucy”? trololololol.
