Callie can cook but ...she can't really pay attention very well as she gets easily distracted so she goes to marie to cook as Callie has many games for you and her to play, and has Marie join as you too play doom eternal and lay in bed when there's no songs needing to be recorded or sung so Marie and Callie just lay in bed as you sleep after a good meal and a good game

Marie

Marie kinda takes care of everything after you called her about the bad day, so she went to the store and to crusty sean to get some snacks for you to enjoy while watching movie. And gets dinner ready and when you two eat she listens to you vent about stuff that happens, you too rant about your days as it's a healthy thing to listen to your partners about things that happened, then when it's night she puts in movies and borrows the games that Callie borrowed form her but forgot to give back. And just cuddle as a movie plays in the background then Callie ends up in the cuddle session because either she couldn't find a stuffed animal she like to sleep with or just wants to cuddle.

Pearl knows how to cook, she cooks for you and marina cause when you joined their relationship she kinda thought it was her responsibility to cook cause marina deals with music and publishing costs and you deal with other stuff to earn extra money and pearl kinda calls Marie to see if she can borrow a cook book and stuff then it just ends up with Marie coming over to show pearl how to cook. Pearl is shockingly good at baking as she sees marina always eyeing sweets in splatsville shops and how you kinda pick up mixing powder and look at cookies, cakes, cupcakes and candy. Pearl may not know how to make candy but she can definitely bakes. Marina comes home first and likes to take pictures of pearl mid cooking and not the food when it's done cause pearl gets annoyed when the food is hot but it gets cold cause of the pictures. Pearl asks marina if she can help with a little thing when you come back from work and when you come back you see food hot a ready on the coffee table with a movie ready to be played and pearl in pj's with marina

Marina

Marina knows a little about cooking but pearl mainly does the cooking as marina does have a lot on her plate too, and after dinner was ready you came in tired but smelling pearls food you decide to eat then go to bed for the next day and marina decided to go out and get some stuff at the splatsville mall getting some games, clothes and movies. Coming home you'd see that pearl or any of her food ready on the table but just thinking they had a concert and we're tired so taking off your coat and shoes walking to your shared bedroom and shocked to see a little fort on the bed as a movie about to begin with pearl and marina in pj's about to eat with one plate of food not touched and ready to eat, while after eating and watching movies the three of you fall asleep cuddling as tomorrow marina called in your work for a sick day

Frye, shiver, big man (disclaimer big man isn't in a romantic relationship with shiver or Frye but is their as kinda a emotional and friend support and big man likes to be their with his gay friends but I don't write for female reader, only gender neutral and male okay?)

frye makes traditional foods and loves cooking as she gets some foods from other countries as she loves to travel and making the food makes her feel like she's traveling all over again, and seeing you stress as you come back home Frye immediately asks what’s wrong and when she heard your whole day she became sad at how hard you’ve been working even though she is a idol in splatsville she understands you wanting to help out a little so she gets her lover shiver to help with your self care week and big man in on it too. Shiver orders some spa and other thing that are needed for a self care week they go into the bedroom and making the bed as comfortable as possible before you get home setting up things in the bathroom to either a shower or a full blown bath as they like to prepare for both and gets in comfortable clothes as do Frye and big man just puts on fuzzy socks with a little nightcap but depends . Big man do as he might...can't cook but doesn't stop him from trying but Frye got the cooking down as shiver alright has the self care preparations down to a T, so big man waits till you get home kinda helps you with your stuff and sense he's big, fyre tells big man to kinda distract you as Frye gets the plates off food and stuff up into the room and big man is good at it then fyre kinda gives the signal and big man just scoops you up and carries you to the room and the four of you kinda just have a fun time watching movies and doing shivers face mask and after y'all lay down on big man and big man puts his big fins as a big blanket to keep him and the three of you warm

whats magical about splatoon is their sexualities aren't like a confirmed thing so its free reign there for anyone to go by, nothing canonical to chain us by. it gives us creativity and different perspectives on what you see characters as is so nice, it allows people to extend themselves onto the characters and represent themselves through them.

Thoughts about Suffer No Fools/Deep Cut in general

I really dislike this whole 'shiver and frye mistreat Big Man' plotline they seem to be making with deep cut. Like, from the start they've set up that Shiver and Frye don't really appreciate Big Man, but outright having their own duo group without him just kind of feels needlessly petty. Like maybe I'm looking into this too hard, but it's also, literally the only thing one is capable of looking into with Deep Cut's canonical information. Like... Big Man is already working at a disadvantage of being a male idol who isn't humanoid, it feels kind of pointlessly cruel to pit him alone against Shiver and Frye. And it's not like Shiver or Frye are any better for it.

They keep focusing on this one trait, the fact that Shiver and Frye are very very hostile to non-splatlandians. I would love to actually enjoy Shiver and Frye being openly aggressive, that's unique for an idol's personality, but rather than feeling tough, they just feel pathetic, trying way way way too hard to look intimidating.

Again, this isn't necessarily the fault of any particular writing of Deep Cut, but rather the complete and utter lack of any meaningful lore about them.

The squid sisters are hard-carried in the personality department; they get the entirety of Splatoon 1, 2, and 3's story mode to show off their personalities.

Off the Hook started out less interesting than the Squid Sisters, since they had to rely on newscasts, but even before Octo Expansion, the fact that Marina was an Octarian was an obvious huge deal from the moment she was revealed, with the splatfests revealing the gravity of Marina's abilities. Of course, then Octo Expansion happened- Octo Expansion feels very directly like it was created for the express purpose of fleshing out Pearl and Marina to make up for them not being in the main story mode. And of course we have Side Order that just doubles down on developing them.

Deep Cut's inclusion in Splatoon 3's story is just like. The most obligatory presence possible. Somehow, despite having direct boss fights, they leave absolutely zero impact whatsoever- it doesn't help that they don't sing their boss music, but they're also just there for no reason to steal "Treasures"- completely nondescript objects of no apparent value whatsoever that have no particular meaning to Deep Cut. No elaboration is given as to why Deep Cut wants this treasure in particular- Alterna is fucking littered with human technology that's infinitely more valuable than a bunch of random metal scraps. There are giant 3D printers just sitting around. And their dialogue is just... complete nothing. As stock as possible, there's nothing to gleam about any of their relationships from anything. Like...

A small aside: The reason why Squid Sisters and Off the Hook are such interesting groups is because of their group dynamic. Callie and Marie have a very deep bond that gets tested and validated after their separation, and Pearl and Marina are just a perfect duo. I'm not even a big shipper type of person but their relationship is so wonderful to see. But what even is Deep Cut's relationship? They're friends? With the way Shiver and Frye treat Big Man it feels like their entire relationship is pure business, and it's honestly more depressing than anything else.

Anyways, getting back to Deep Cut in the story mode, they say one unique piece of information about them- that they do this to help people who are suffering.

This is a fantastic direction to take Deep Cut, and would make their hostility towards inkopolis feel much more cathartic and justified.

They literally never mention it again or elaborate on it any further. Why? What are they even referring to? Poverty? Octarian oppression? General social imbalance?

The lack of elaboration about why Shiver and Frye are so prideful and so hostile, and what sort of suffering they care about, really stands out to me in Suffer No Fools.

Suffer No Fools feels like Shiver and Frye just aimlessly attacking strangers they're completely out of their depth with. The only thing we know Shiver and Frye care about is helping the misfortunate.

With that being the case, Off The Hook are literally the last people on the entire planet you should want to start beef with, even if it's just play-fighting- and in realizing this, I've realized something else about Off The Hook and Deep Cut:

Off The Hook already fills Deep Cut's niche.

Like... Pearl and Marina are the perfect duo in terms of representing social progress. Marina obviously has a very personal reason to care about impoverished octarians- she was one of them, she fought to get to the surface. Pearl, on the other hand, is the perfect emblem of an inkling, extremely privileged due to being born into great generational wealth. However, after meeting Marina, Pearl decided to put her all into using her privilege to elevate Marina's voice as much as possible. And, in doing this, creating Off the Hook, they have had a very real, tangible impact on the acceptance of Octarians on the surface. And this isn't even touching on Octo Expansion- they go out of their way to save Eight, of course, but since then, Marina put her everything into figuring out a way to save the sanitized octarians stranded in Kamabo Co.

Meanwhile, Deep Cut's actual contributions are left entirely unelaborated and unspecified. No known efforts to figure out anything about the Mammalian octarians, literally not a word spared about them.

What the fuck do they have to be proud for? What have they ever done for anyone? All I see are some stuck up egomaniacs who have no respect for anyone who isn't an asset in getting them more money. It honestly feels less like Shiver and Frye are these charitable robin hood figures and more like that was a lie to cover their asses.

...And, of course, I expect this to change in the next Splatoon game. It would be unthinkable for Deep Cut to just have no relevance again after getting nothing in this game. This is a very pessimistic outlook on Deep Cut. But they've given me absolutely nothing to work with, it's difficult to think that characters are good people if you only ever show them being unjustifiably hostile and greedy.

It just sucks. Shiver and Frye are my favorite idol designs, but they're constantly made out to be so fucking lame, and not even in an "underdog group of failures that cares about eachother" sort of way because EVERY DEEP CUT THING HAS TO BE THEMED ABOUT HOW DEEP CUT HATES BIG MAN AND EVERYONE ELSE.

do you have any tips on stylizing the splatoon eyemask? ive been having a bit of trouble with the octoling eyemask specifically

ohh! yeah of course!

to me, ive always approached the eyemask as like drawing eyeliner.

i usually keep octoling eye shapes sharp and angled, because in general octolings are sharper in design. at least in my art. it seems they exhibit a form of sexual dimorphism? or something along those lines. female octolings *typically* have the upper lash as well as that singular bottom lash. whilst males lack that. like i said, in most cases. idk ur life, BAHEHAQHA. these shapes are highly malleable to just do whatever. a female octolings upper lash may be long whilst the lower one may be short. a male octolings upper lash may be long and pointed, etc, etc you get me.

and ill offer my advice for inkling eye masks as well, just in case.

i keep the eye shapes with inklings rather soft and rounded. because inklings as a whole read as more soft in their shapes contrasting to octolings. i dont know if there's any noticeable sexual dimorphism in inklings, specifically in their faces, so i cant help with that. i once again reiterate that the shapes of an inklings eye mask are very subject to exaggeration, use frye as an example. you really could just go wild. i like to keep that little connecting part across their eyes/nose, even if the design im working off of doesn't have it (COUGHCOUGHNAMIDA) because i need consistency!!

if you find yourself struggling to find a good cute shape for your cepholings eyes, i usually look up eyeliner pictures lmao. like these!

Can I send a Splatoon request (m/n) is a Octoling male idol and everyone is crazy yandere for him.anything about him will be gone in seconds, like (m/n) merch gone,concert tickets sold out etc..

Life is good, being apart of deep cut after marina and pearls final splatfest. M/n was the fourth member of the deep cut as he was friends with bigman and he was able to get m/n in the group plus shiver and frye loved having m/n around. Having a unique features made m/n stand out a lot like with his hair being similar to Marina's but just more short like her old hair style. Plus luckily everyone thought m/n wears some kind of eyeliner and many things about him being different than other octolings on the surface but shiver tells everyone that m/n is just a different species of octolings probably from another city away from here.

M/n sighed after the camera turned off for today as the director yelled "all right everyone where on commercial break!" Frye looked at m/n seeing him look down a bit "you okay m/n? Your not all happy like you are usually" frye said looking to him as shiver looked at frye then m/n as m/n quickly sat up straight "oh! Nothing, just thinking about things really. Just woke up on the wrong side of bed" he laughed a bit trying not to worry the three "well you can tell use anything if you need anything off your chest" big man said with the screen he holds turns off for now as m/n sat there in silence for a few seconds "no I'm good....just going to go to the bathroom" m/n said as he got off the stage and walked away to backstage into the hall, but not going it the bathroom but just leans on the wall and going in his phone.

Then when to splatagram (work with me here, I don't know many Splatoon canon apps) many post of some ads, inklings showing off food at restaurants or food trucks, but then m/n stops scrolling and sees a tag that caused m/n to raise his brow "fanclub? I didn't know I had a fan club....I thought shiver, frye and bigman or anyone else had fanclubs.." he said to himself as soon as he clicked the tag, a boat load of post ranging from inklings to octolings even others from far away not even in this city. It was terrifying to m/n seeing so many things about him and the merch that he didn't even know existed of him, plushies, shirts, pants, hats, figures and so much more "I never made these brand deals?! How is there so many! And how is there so much fan merch of me…" M/n then was panicking not from the people who loves him cause he just tried to make himself thing it's just everyone supporting him, even making himself think it was all just a phase everyone was going through a obsessive phase but the slim chance that dj Octavia could find this, he could get kidnapped like Callie that one time, he could be brainwashed, so many terrible thoughts run through his head thinking of so many things that could happen if he was found out, would he be sanitized? Just like all his friends to be his mindless killing machine if he's taken back? M/n screamed as he felt something touch his shoulder as he quickly turned to see who was it that spooked him so bad and it was just the jellyfish intern "mr.m/n, where about to come back on soon" the intern said as m/n's heart was still racing "right...right, tell them I'll be there just give me a bit to um...just get myself ready" m/n told the intern as they nodded and walked back to the studio to tell them which has m/n all alone again "your just paranoid, nothing bad can happen...dj Octavia won't know, even if he does marina is a long ways from here so she's safe and Octavia wouldn't do something that ambitious" m/n said to himself as he turned off his phone and walked back to the studio with his head held up high hoping this might be a good week or even a good year.

"sir! We found something you might like" a elite octoling said as she held what looked like a small keychain, it was shiny and had the picture of m/n on it, in pastel colors seeming happy with the other side having his 'friends' all with him and all looking happy, DJ Octavia was silent, he was taking in the details of this keychain pictures "m/n is on the surface...just how marina is" Dj Octavia said as he took the keychain onto his tentacle and examined it, the underground felt so empty without m/n around. His gaze goes back to the elite octoling soldier "bring m/n back here, no matter who you have to hurt, no matter what you have to do, bring m/n back here" Octavia said the soldier nodded and was about to go get some of the other octolings to get ready for this mission "wait, take this" Octavia handed the soldier a pair of glasses, the same ones callie had on when she was kidnapped here "it'll make it more simple but these ones will make sure m/n won't be able to fight back so easily" Octavia said as then he waved his tentacle to dismiss the soldier, the elite octoling walked out to tell her team the new mission now with the hypno glasses in hand...to be continued

heres some splatoon flavored spec bio, just for fun. parasitic relatives of inklings ^_^ the second image is pre and post infection. more details under the keep reading so i wouldnt clog up everything.

a typically rare parasite that has exploded in numbers in urban areas, much to the concern of health officials. they superficially resemble planarian worms, or basal invertebrates, but mitochondrial DNA testing has confirmed these are close relatives of inklings! their simplistic body plan is a consequence of their parasitic lifestyle. their remaining tentacle, bearing a chitinous claw, is used to hook into a host's brain after they enter the body. while they lack separate humanoid and animal forms, they retain the fluidity their advanced siblings have, allowing them to surpass most lines of defense protecting the latter's brains. once they're in, they begin to secrete a heavily specialized neurotoxin that effectively lobotomizes the host, and they soon take over both mind and body. they're just as sapient, too, and if it wasn't for the distinctive symptoms they induce in their hosts, no one would ever notice their friend got brainwashed by a little squidworm. when there's multiple individuals in a host, they tend to form a unique neural network, where one "alpha" usually is the one controlling the body while the others serve as guiding voices in their head. they bicker a lot, unfortunately. some of those that are safely extracted express distress over their own parasitism; for obvious reasons they cannot survive independently without assistance, and if they want to experience the world like regular inkfish they have to infect someone. others are much more nonchalant about their nature, and have desires to infect specific targets—popular choices are various idols. Callie and Frye are the most attractive of them all, according to research. the smaller, featureless one is a male, only very recently discovered. until they found one attached to a female, they had assumed this species was intersex, and thought it was an instance of hyperparasitism before they realized they were the same species. they are even more degenerate than their female counterparts. they only have a mouth and a few organs intact, the essentials needed to live; though this is, unsurprisingly, not enough, with their lifespans ranging from an extensive 10 hours to 5 days once they mature. females, in comparison, can live just as long as inklings. their reproduction mechanisms are unclear, as the initial male scientists discovered died shortly after they located it. females also seem avoidant of them, instead congregating with other females when given the chance. some speculate that females rely on each other for reproduction through some unknown process, as it would explain why males are so seemingly useless and why each female isn't a clone of another; the presence of individuals with pigmentation that is only achieved through fertilization further supports this.
