Ok so I have a question about Hypno Callie. I’m going to start by saying that I do agree with you that Callie’s not being brainwashed, but hypnotized. I generally agree with your points. However, I have one question about Hypno Callie and Marie.

If hypnosis can’t make you do things you don’t want to do, why does Callie seem to be way more hostile towards Marie? Isn’t her whole reason to go down to the octolings because she was overworked and isolated from Marie? It seems like being hostile towards her and trying to push her away would be the last thing Callie would want to do to Marie.

Also if you try to say “erm actually Callie has always hated Marie” then your good will’s getting chucked out the window and I’ll just go back to believing she was brainwashed. I’ve dealt with one Nintendo familial relationship being treated as “they hate each other despite all evidence to the contrary,” I don’t need a second.

That is a very good question to ask. I'm gonna say right off the bat, no, Callie has never always hated Marie, the people who say that are absolute morons and just as bad as the people who say "omg callie was kidnapped and brainwashed, blah blah blah." I've never seen someone say that personally, but if I did see that, I would be very much annoyed. I'm with you on that.

Now, to answer the question, why did Callie show a lot of hostility towards Marie? It's because of a couple of things.

Callie, after the events of Splatoon 1's final Splatfest was under a LOTTTT of stress and attention. The web series Squid Sisters Stories tells us outright that Callie literally worked from the early morning to late in the evening, meaning Callie was constantly working, isolated and was under a lot of public attention for possibly weeks or even months. Which impacted her mental health by an absolute fuck ton. It got to a point where Callie got so fed up and frustrated that her manager stated to Marie that she ran off home because she was "flustered."

Despite Callie trying to maintain a happy appearance and trying her best to maintain her relationship with Marie, it eventually just got too much for her, as hinted at with this section on the Relationship Chart.

Callie is pushing Marie away because she just wants to be left alone. People who are under mental health troubles tend to do things that aren't like themselves, and that includes isolating yourself and trying to escape from a bad situation. Which explains why Callie joined the Octarians as a means to escape her life.

If you look at Callie's dialogue while under the Hypnoshades, she never actually threatens to hurt or kill Marie. Instead her dialogue is her trying to push Marie away and get her out of Octo Canyon.

The regular Callie wouldn't obviously push Marie away, but due to her mental health troubles, the stresses of fame, and hypnosis leaving her in a weird daydream like state, she was not thinking clearly and was hurting the person she cares about the most, Marie.

If Callie was truly brainwashed it would be more clear in her dialogue, it would be like a COMPLETELY different person, we would see Callie trying more to kill Marie and being more obedient to Octavio, but she wasn't doing all that...

I will say, i love Marina's design, you just took the original design but added some details and some sleeves which i really like. It kinda reminds me of Hatsune Miku and i wonder if you did that on purpose....

I think that Frye and Shiver with their designs, i liked how you incorporated some of the beta design stuff into your own. I love the idea of Shiver hiding a scarred eye behind her hair and Frye having the "devil" horns from the grand fest design. And making the purple/pink more pronounced in her design is sick.

However i think Frye's mid section might be a bit too busy because the bar code is so large and that silver charm might have too much on it.

Maybe make it smaller or put it on her pants like how the original design has her charm.

Also one more thing, i think it would be a really cool idea if you made the exposed shoulders matched up in some way. It's hard for me to explain it but maybe make Shiver's left shoulder exposed and then Frye's right shoulder exposed. So it looks like their designs match up in some way and they flow together like a wave.

I've been playing a lot of Fortnite on Switch 2 (just waiting over for DK Bananza) and I gotta say....

Splatoon should have a battle royale mode. LIKE COME ON GUYS IT WOULD BE COOL! IT WOULD BE FUN! GUYS YOU GOTTA ADMIT IT WOULD BE SO COOL! I think one of the biggest problems with Splatoon's online multiplayer is the lack of modes. Why do we only have 5 modes? One of them is only for casual play while the rest are ranked only. Can we have some more modes for Splatoon 4? Imagine a battle royale mode with the movement of Splatoon... oh my god it would be CRAZY! It would be so fun.

I was talking to a friend and he was saying that he's unsure about if he should play splatoon 3 or not. I said that he should because it's a fun multiplayer game with lots of content but I said that the story mode might leave him asking a lot of questions because you kinda need some context on who the hell a Callie, Marie, Captain Cuttlefish and DJ Octavio are to get the most out of it.

We talked some more, and he said that the lore can't be that deep, and I explained some of the timeline stuff and how Inklings and Octolings came to be. And he asked me if humans had some involvement, and i said, "Yeah, kinda, it's complicated to explain." And he said to me, straight up, no joke.

"So, its like, Cars." For those who dont know, he means PIXAR'S CARS!!!

They cooked so hard with Agent 8 and Captain, but dropped the ball with Agent 4 and Neo Agent 3, i don't want them to miss again, please Nintendo. Give the Mechanic something. ANYTHING!!

Im gonna be honest, they cooked with most of the third kits, they did it. A lot of the third kits are actually good and combo well with the main weapon. Burst bomb kraken splattershot.... splat bomb tenta missiles splattershot pro, sprinkler crab tank charger, torpedo booyah bomb reef lux OH MY GODDDD!!! The designs of them are absolutely phenomenonal. Some have this cool snake texture to them and some have a chrome look with nice colours. They knocked it out of the park in terms of designs.

Also, the new Dualies have a tamagotchi like device screwed onto them, so you know which weapon I'm gonna play with first.

Praying to the gods that Splatoon Raiders is the game that allows Frye to get some respect outside of the Splatoon community. She needs more love out of our circle because she always gets forgotten about in the grand scheme of things.
