So, has anyone ever made a masterpost (or masterdoc, whatever) about Mališa (1987) like people have done for Goncharov (1973)?
Got interested in Tumblr’s fake movies again...

I haven’t seen Mališa in a while, is she the girl or the girl’s pigeon? I forgot
I mean she doesn’t own the pigeon but it was kind of like her familiar in a way
I just don’t remember which one was named Mališa

Honestly quite embarrassing for the film industry that it has been 35 years and it hasn't come up with anything as good at the first cat scene from Mališa 1987

Listen, if you haven't seen Mališa (1987) don't talk to me. It's such a masterpiece of film and you can't tell me that Mališa landing on the anti-bird spikes of the prison wall wasn't perfectly calculated symbolism on the director's part. And the camera work! The film hardly uses outside perspective (usually for an aerial shot of the city) but the outside perspective trying to watch Mališa land was genius. It was only two seconds, but it really shows the determination and bravery she has navigating the human trap.

Also the scene where she pecked at the coin was definitely another highlight of the film for me. Just the fine detail of the coin as she closely inspects it, gauging if its food, and then the test peck. It's hard, but she's doesn't give up easily. I love hearing the little tings the coin makes as it drops back to the ground when she tries to pick it up or gives it a particularly hard peck. A nice light-hearted moment that was well placed.

X-Men First Class was described as follow:
It starts during WW2 (in Auschwitz) but it also has some Cuban Crisis thing with big war ships and missiles so I'm not checking in the "WW2" thing.
Mališa (which, for legal reasons, does not exist, and is a fake movie made in the style of Goncharov after a tiktok which was making fun of obscure movies by describing a fake, black and white serbian movies seen through the eyes of a pigeon) was described as follow:
Mališa (1987) follows a starving pigeon through the streets of 1914 Sarajevo. In this powerful bird’s eye view of the The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand it is the every-day suffering of man and beast in the lower classes of society that is the centre of focus. Mališa fights for crumbs from beggars, urchins, soldiers and cruel politicians and remains indifferent to the larger political conflicts leading up to the Great War because she, like so many of the poor of Sarajevo, simply cannot afford to care.
(credits for the poster as well as... basically creating this fake movie out of thin air: @candlelightsinner)

Mališa (1987), directed by Boro Drašković, starring Bogdan Diklić, Milena Dravić, Predrag Manojlović, and Jelisaveta Sablić
The original poster for the Soviet-Russian release of the (censored) film in 1988. The bourgeois characters and the archduke are clearly highlighted as villains, the scene were Mališa steals the diamond earring is put into the centre of attention. The finely nuanced politics and ethics of the original film are thereby flattened in accordance with Soviet ideals.

Random things related to the fake movie "mališa" I'm angry about for literally NO rational reason lmaooooo
Literally no one made a serbian fake poster even though the film is literally supposed to be serbian
All the fake shots of the movie I've seen so far are wayy too high quality but are just put into black and white. Like please the quality needs to be low it needs to be blurry to be realistic no? Or at least s LITTLE bit blurry idk
It's pretty much treated just like a goncharov 2
Some (MANY) people forget to tag unreality properly (this shit is important guys)
Everything else is fine imo the concept is interesting and if it was a real movie I would probably watch it but I'm angry at the very small amount of people that even know about it what is wrong with me lmao

love that shot at the end where we just see the bird fly away from the burning factory. Like... Boro Draskovic really looked at all the movies where they kill the dog (or worse, like Carnosaur, and alas yes it exists) and said "not on my watch. this bird is going to survive."

I love that Tumblr is getting into older movies lately, it's introduced me to both of these masterpieces. Goncharov was obviously a great find but I wish more people would give credit to Mališa by Boro Drašković (1987).
Honestly, I think this is my new favourite movie. I've never cried such bitter tears over a pidgeon before.
EVERYBODY GO WATCH MALIŠA
