VIDEONOMICON (1988), part 2 (see part 1 here). More stills from Maxim Voronin’s cable TV miniseries about a mysterious AV club using Satanic video test patterns to transform unwitting volunteers into demonic flesh vessels.
As the hypnotic powers of the video patterns begin to warp the consciousness of the volunteers, more is revealed about the mysterious cult behind the strange experiments. Unseen by the research volunteers, the “hosts” communicate to them only through various goat heads mounted throughout the facility. Are the human(?) hosts trying to control the evil powers they’re harnessing? Or are they merely pawns in something much more sinister? The answers will only be found by seeing what is beyond; by releasing the prison of the flesh and plunging deeper into the technological hellscape of… The Videonomicon.
To be continued…

Goncharov (1973) is happening on tiktok in the form of a horror film called “Zepotha”. There is not an exact date for this movie, but it came out in the 80s.
It started with creator emilyjeffri(she/they), a songwriter with a large platform (170.80k followers). She posted a video on August 11th proposing her idea:
“ok so new bit idea: what if we created a fake 80s horror movie called movie called 'Zepotha' & started commenting '"omg U look EXACTLY like that one girl from Zepotha" or "wait U look exactly like _____ from Zepotha" on every thirst trap we see. together we will witness new lore develop, main characters will emerge, etc. & we can convince thousands of people that this weirdly titled 80s horror film actually exists”
I cannot wait to see this unfolds and note the similarities and differences between how Goncharov (1973) and Zepotha develop based on the different user bases of tumblr and tiktok.

I designed these fake movie posters for #BeatlesMovies and I quite like how they turned out, so I thought I’d post them on here as well. Maybe this will be my next obsession

Does anybody remember Mischa (2009)?
The details r a little foggy in my memory but I remember watching this movie as a kid, the memory kinda jumped out while I was watching Hannibal NBC recently.. it was a Hannibal spin off, focusing on Mischa Lecter and Clarice Starling as the main characters. Mischa Lecter was a cannibal & murderer, much like Hannibal is in the franchise.. I remember she was blonde and wore a lot of really formal clothes. Clarice Starling was a criminal profiler, she had an accent and usually dressed casual. Clarice & Mischa had a pretty romantic relationship in the movie, Mischa being in love with Clarice was mentioned a couple times. I don’t remember everything but I remember some other things:
- It was made by some canadian studio, IDK which one but it didn’t have a very high budget lol
- There was talks of a sequel following Mischa & Will Graham, and a TV series following Mischa & Clarice. Both got cancelled
- I remember a scene where Clarice dreamed of marrying Mischa, she woke up screaming. Clarice worked for the FBI still, but her boss was Frederick Chilton instead of Jack Crawford
- At the end of the movie there’s a scene where Mischa gets arrested and a little girl that looks like Clarice watches
- A cover of “The Killing Moon” was on the soundtrack
- Most of the story could be considered like a scrambled up Hannibal story from what I remember.. I don’t remember much lol
- Clarice was trying to catch another killer, I don’t remember them at all but I know she was trying to catch somebody
- Mischa was a psychiatrist for the FBI
- The movie seemed almost like.. an idea board gone wrong?? The movie comes together well but it’s so messy, taking aspects from all the Hannibal movies & books, probably from some other movies too. It felt uncanny, in a way
This movie was a classic when I was a kid, so hopefully I find some other fans on here!! Maybe somebody can jog my memory on other parts of the movie?? Do your thing, Tumblr!

So we created a fake Martin Scorsese film, what’s next?
A forgotten Hayo Miyazaki film that doesn’t exist?
A weird, surrealist Disney film was never created?
Or what about the unknown sequel to Nosferatu? The sky is the limit people!

Lol, I want a movie series on Gabriel Agreste's life from highschool/college years too him going to prison.
So here's some ideas based off that
The first movie is on him meeting Emilie, him going to school and him trying to make a name for himself.
The second with him and Emilie being married (him being successful) and them meeting Natalie, getting involved in treasure hunting and finding the miraculouses.
The third will be about his down fall from the corruption fame and wealth, them raising Adrien, Emilie's worsening health and how Natalie ended up working and living with the Agrestes.
The fourth movie can be about Emilie's death and him deciding to become Hawkmoth. He has opportunities to stop, to actually accept his wife's death and grieve, to raise his son, etc. but he doesn't. He keeps pushing forward and eventually everyone else away. From movie two it's hinted that there may be something between him and Natalie, and with his wife dead and him relying more and more on Natalie emotionally and physically we see some of that drama in the movie too. He slowly goes insane from grief and misusing the miraculous. The movie is only from his or Natalie's (maybe Tomeo, Audrey, Harry, and Andre too for some depth) point of view, so that he doesn't know Chat Noir is his son and neither does the audience. His suspicions of his son play into the going mad element. It all ends with Gabriel having gone insane (Natalie dies sometime near the final battle) fighting Ladybug and Chat noir, Chat noir is revealed sometime before battle/during battle to be his son #betrayal, he's furious, climatic emotional moment, he loses and is tied up. There's a moment were the authorities are removing Emilie's body from the glass coffin and carrying her away (maybe he's watching with his head on the ground [no/muffled sound in the scene]), the next scenes are a summarized trial with like his crimes being said, him in court, the news anchor on tv saying something, and then the final scene is like him in a prison cell all alone. (My headcannon for this is that after the fight Ladybug and Chat noir find the lucky charm he took with him so she Miraculous Ladybug's it and all the damage done to his brain and the miraculous goes back to that time, so he's crazy, but not AS crazy as he was) The scene is just him alone with nothing left, but his regrets and grief.
I want it to be a gripping romantic tragedy too, like from the beginning him and Emilie have this whirlwind all consuming romance (all consuming from his side at least, and theses movies would be mostly from his prospective) and then as you follow their story everything falls apart. Her parents don't approve of him, they can't have kids, (plus Natalie falling in love with him and her heart breaking story of giving everything she had for their happy ending too happen only for Gabriel to end up in prison, Adrien an orphan, and her dead) she gets sick, she then dies, Gabriel turning to crime, him going mad, and ending up in prison with his son's life in shambles.
I'll probably be making more in detailed posts for each movie later

BATTLE SANTAS trading cards were all the rage of Christmas 1988, hyping kids up for a toy line and film franchise that never came to be after Christian protesters halted production.
The cards, produced before the first film was finished, tell the story of a multiverse of cosmic Santas who arrive from across time on an array of Battle Sleighs to help Earth’s Santa save Christmas future from the forces of Hell. On Santa’s lunar battlestation workshop (where he relocated after the North Pole was ravaged in The Santa Wars), his elves built armed vehicles from old toy parts and the re-animated corpses of reindemons, the hellbeasts of the demon army unleashed on Earth after a portal to hell was opened in the North Pole when oil companies drilled near Santa's Earth Workshop (thanks to Reagan’s deregulation of protected lands).
The early release of the trading cards was meant to generate buzz for the film’s funding and toy licensing, but the plan backfired, as the cards revealed a controversial plot point: Mecha-Jesus, the Cybersavior, a towering robotic kaiju Jesus built by the Battle Santas as their last stand against Satan. Mecha-Jesus is piloted by the real Jesus, who the Battle Santas summon back to mortal form. When Christian groups heard about children trading cards that depicted Jesus eviscerating enemies with Nazareth Napalm missiles and shooting Light of the Lord laser beams from his robo-eyes while shouting “The Power of Christ compels you to DIE!” over heavy metal music, a firestorm of protests made the entire BATTLE SANTAS property toxic to investors, leaving the trading cards the only glimpse of a Christmas epic that never came to be.

FADE IN: EXT. NEW YORK CITY - DAY It is a hot summer day, 1977. The city is hot, dirty and loud. The asphalt glimmers in the heat and the high buildings are as oppressive as the sun. This is New York at its worst. We cut across several different impressions of everyday life: A grocer fixing his awning, children playing in the water from busted fire hydrants, a man in an undershirt smoking on a fire escape, people in flashy disco suits with big jewelry walking down the street, an old woman on a stoop and more- we get a glimpse into the life of about every kind of New Yorker there is. Life looks difficult and uncomfortable, yet there is something about the way it’s presented that is intriguing, desirable even. Like you just want to jump right into the screen to experience it for yourself. It's full of life. The city is alive.
Some stills from the credits of The Modern Gomorrah. I think this movie captures New York City so well and finds beauty in even the places no one wants to look at.
God I wish this movie was real. It's a fiction created by @rovermcfly and I love it with all my heart. More about it here and here. The script text below the pictures is also by Rover.
These images are actually all by a photographer called Allan Tannenbaum whose pictures I became obsessed with immediately. He captured New York in the 70s so perfectly, especially the parts on the margins of society. I can't stop looking at these.

I need to scream into the internet void for a sec bc I am very angry.
The people on tiktok are making this trend of telling people that they look like characters from a movie they made up in the comments of their tiktoks. Like goncharov. The only problem is that they refuse to tell people who don't know about this movie that it isn't real. So people are left wondering what the fuck they were just told they look like and where it comes from but the person who said it only tells them it's from a movie called "zepotha" and won't elaborate. AND THESE PEOPLE GET MAD WHEN YOU EXPLAIN TO OTHERS THAT IT'S NOT REAL. AT LEAST THE PEOPLE ON TUMBLR TOLD PEOPLE AND TAGGED GONCHAROV AS UNREALITY.
These tiktok people WANT you to be confused bc they think it's funny. And even if they wanted to warn people, you can't add tags to tiktok comments.
It was just a disaster of an idea and it's already causing harm to others. Why can't the internet learn from other communities instead of pitting themselves against anyone else

In 1976, a science fiction film called "The Call" tells the story of a group of chosen individuals who are called by mysterious aliens who arrive on Earth in their UFOs. The aliens appear to have peaceful intentions, but as the film unfolds, it is revealed that their true intentions are much more complex and disturbing. The chosen ones are taken aboard the alien spaceships and subjected to a series of experiments and tests that test their intelligence, strength and endurance. While some of them quickly adapt to their new circumstances and start collaborating with the aliens, others struggle to maintain their identities and resist the mind control imposed by their captors. As the film progresses, it is revealed that the aliens are trying to create a new hybrid race between humans and extraterrestrials, with the aim of colonizing other planets and ensuring the survival of their species. The calls to the chosen ones are actually an attempt to select the best human specimens to be part of this ambitious project. The hidden message of the film concerns the loss of identity and the importance of maintaining one's humanity in the face of potentially oppressive external forces. A sense of foreboding pervades throughout the film, as viewers wonder what the aliens' true intentions are and whether the chosen ones will be able to resist their control and return to Earth.
