Jessie and Cassidy arrived at Noah’s new home in Belladonna Cove at the same time, both plopping their respective kids down on the ground. Cassidy scoffed as she looked around.
“What a dump,” she muttered.
“I know, right?” asked Jessie. “How’s he gonna raise 3 kids in here?”
Noah emerged from the shower to see his large family spread out all over his house. He scooped up Leo, the needier of the twins and turned to his baby mommas with a charming smile.
“Gossiping about me?” he asked.
“What else would we be doing?” Jessie said.
Noah settled in between the two women, feeling a little awkward.
“Ok, let’s hear it,” Noah said with a sigh. “What grave injustice that’s going to doom the children forever and ever have I committed this time?” Jessie waved her arms around the room emphatically.
“Let’s see,” she started. “You moved out of the apartment building that I lived in and moved halfway across the city, making it 1000 times harder for us to switch off days with the kids. You’ve got 3 small kids and moved into a one bedroom for god knows why. And now I’ll be forced to drive here every week just to see my children, which is a pretty big leap from just going downstairs.”
“What she said!” Cassidy piped in.
“You think living in that shitty apartment was better?” Noah asked. “I wanted to give the boys a home, a proper home. They have a backyard and an ocean view. And they’re closer to their family here!”
“You’re a Zarro!” Jessie exclaimed, leaping to her feet along with Cassidy. “You have family literally everywhere!”
“And what about our family?” Cassidy said. “My parents live downtown, so now it’ll just be harder for Aspen to get to know them!”
“I’m not obligated to run every life decision I make by you two,” Noah said, standing up as well.
“It’d be nice if you gave us a heads up!” said Cassidy.
“And for god’s sake Noah, the kids need their own bedroom!” Jessie said.
“I don’t want my kid living in a dump!”
“Mine either!”
“Ladies, ladies,” Noah said, feeling a bit on edge now. “I hear you, ok? This is going to be a huge transition for all of us. But, I’m gonna do everything to make sure that this all goes smoothly.”
“You better,” Jessie snapped.
“What she said!” said Cassidy.
