23 - Discrimination (Yeah I went there)

i) Species;

a) All Sentient Species recognised by Mandalorian Law are completely within right to be adopted, adopt, and live within Mandalore, and Mandalorian Society. b) If a Species wishes to be added to the data base, a General Notice for Recognition can be applied for through the Mandalorian Archive of Galactic Sentients. The Mandalorian Archive of Galactic Sentients will also keep in check genealogy to take notice of the rare cases of possible gene modification and cloning. The Mandalorian Archive of Galactic Sentients is the official government and information authority for all occasions regarding inter-species law in Mandalorian Space. c) Sentient Species cannot be outlawed from sectors or systems – Mandalorian Law stresses the difference between a Species, and its local Governments. For example, a fleeing Zygerrian is not guilty of the crimes of the Zygerrian Empire. d) Sentient Species cannot be barred entry into clubs, pubs or venues due to their species. e) Sentient Species cannot be required or told by schools, family, or others to physically alter traits and physical features that do not cause harm. For example, a Zabracki shall not be demanded to wear a headdress to attend classes for the safety of other students.

ii) Sex;

a) Mandalorian Law recognises separate biological sexes for all documented species under the Mandalorian Archive of Galactic Sentients. b) Mandalore recognises the separate sexes, sub-sexes, and individual genders within the Species Codex held by the Bounty Hunter Guild Associations. c) Mandalore retains its right to utilise the genderless and sexless terms and wordings in day-to-day use. d) Medical Professionals, and those whose services require said information are the only beings within Mandalore allowed to require a response to request of an individual’s sex, species, and gender information. e) Job applications and education shall not require confirmation of sex or gender for acceptance or application. f) Mandalore and the Mandalorian Sector practices the use of a multitude of private and communal refreshers – schools in the Mandalorian sector will tend to have two segregated bathrooms for the two more common humanoid sexes, a disabled bathroom, a unisex bathroom, and the communal bathrooms utilised in most military settings. Individual sectors can offer a differing, or greater range of choices – for example, Ordo Minor, which has the selection of disabled bathrooms, individual bathrooms, and the communal bathrooms with no segregation of any sort. g) Married Mandalorians are not required to inform anyone of their or their spouse’s gender or sex. h) Sex work in Mandalore falls under the Fair Work Acts, and is acceptable under strict and heavily monitored conditions. A Mando’ade who worked in this sector of business is permitted to apply to other forms of employment. Attempts to block applications and transfers of employment is both discriminatory to the Mando’ade’s financial freedoms and their sexual freedoms.

iii) Religious Interpretation;

a) Incomplete

iv) Language;

a) Mando’a’s multitude of accepted forms are not to be excluded, impeded or banned in any way within Mandalorian Space. b) Mando’a is to be taught at every school in Mandalorian Space in the sector’s most common forms. c) No Mando’ade should be barred in any way from learning Mando’a. d) Speaking a Freed language is a protected right, and those found guilty of excluding or discriminating those speaking or who have spoken Freed language fall under Sentient Discrimination and can face charges at both Mandalorian and Galactic Courts. e) Speaking Basic is not banned in any way, but it is not a specific requirement to graduate, educate, be credited or to have a job. f) Basic cannot be a prerequisite in jobs that do not have any relevance to the speaking of the language. For example, a mechanic does not need to speak fluid Basic to practice on Ordo Prime or Manda’yaim. g) Learning to speak, read and write is a Right, not a privilege, and those barring students for financial reasons either in low or high levels of education will be held to account under Mandalorian Law. Learning languages in Mandalore is a Protected Right, and not to be interfered with by external pressures. h) Clan Foundlings wishing to continue to learn their pre-adoption language is a protected right under Mandalorian Law. Foundlings will not be punished for use of their pre-adoption languages.

v) Ability;

a) All Clan members, regardless of their capacity or ability to fight, are crucial to Clan Welfare. b) Clan members, or Mando’ade who are visually or verbally impaired should have allocations made for their comfort and to ease participation in day-to-day life. This includes species that routinely have these impairments, for example, nocturnal species being allowed to be as active as they require at their biologically required hours. c) Clan members, Mando’ade or warriors who have been injured to the point of being removed from combat have completed a great service for their Clan and their community, and any discrimination or exclusion of these Mando’ade is punishable by law. d) Mando’ade born with non-life-threatening defects are to be treated as ordinary Mando’ade under Mandalorian Law. e) Mando’ade born with life-threatening birth defects are catered for under the Public Health Acts, and can even be served at external hospitals around the galaxy under the Mandalorian Resources and Children Protectorate. Parents can make direct calls for assistance to the Mandalorian Protectors, and can expect near immediate response and support in the occasion of life-threatening illness or injury. This is a right under Mandalorian Law. f) Mandalorians with movement impairments, mental impairment and illness, and other neurological discrepancies are protected under Mandalorian Law. In the event of a Neurological Unsound Mando’ade hurting a child, the Mano’ade risks becoming institutionalised. g) Those of impaired, separated, different nature or disposition, and disability are completely able to be charged with serious offences. However, much like criminal justice, intent must be proved for charges such as ‘murder,’ or the charge will simply be held as high degree grievous assault and manslaughter. Ability Impaired Mandalorians will still face a firing squad if found guilty of War Crimes, Child Abuse, or Sexual Assault. h) Mando’ade that cannot live by themselves can either select, or have a carer selected for them out of their Clan or Community that passes Health and Carer Training and Psychological Evaluations. The selection will take place after their diagnosis with impairment. If a Clan member has already been acting as the Mando’ade’s carer, provisioning will be made for that Clan member to have access to appropriate resources and training without separating the Carer from their charge.

The Mandalorian Tarot: Major Arcana

If you’re following me, you know this is a Mandalorian obsessive account. I love the man, I love the show, I write a Mando-fando that is all about pining and touch. I tend to go all in when I have an interest.

Another one of my interests? Tarot. A friend challenged me to Mandalorify the major arcana. And because Jon and Dave know their stuff and are good with archetypes (which is all tarot really is), it was an easy fit.

YOU GOT MANDO IN MY TAROT. YOU GOT TAROT IN MY MANDO. TWO GREAT TASTES THAT TASTE GREAT TOGETHER.

But. I can’t draw, so I’ve dreamed them in words and included the Rider-Waite-Smith deck illustrations that I would riff on if I could.

READY? LET’S PLAY.

0 THE FOOL = THE MANDALORIAN / IT IS MADE! --->

The story of the tarot is the Fool’s journey, the arc of becoming. So it makes sense to me that Din would be the fool. Fits even better, since he has tremendous Fool energy in his himbo tendencies, just rushing forward into situations without a lot of planning--he’ll deal with it when he’s in it--ready to rely on others to show him the way or guide/help him to the next step.

If I could draw: Din on the cliff, with his jetpack on, meaning he has no fear of falling. Instead of the bindle-stick the Fool carries, he’d have his pulse rifle slung over his shoulder. Instead of the dog nipping at his heels, Grogu. And, of course, the landscape would be Tatooine/Navaro-esque.

1 THE MAGICIAN = LUKE SKYWALKER , IT IS MADE! --->

The Magician is someone who is still learning to bend the laws of magic/the Universe, but very adept with their tools. Since Luke is only a few years into his Jedi training at this time, he makes a pretty good Magician.

If I could draw: Luke in his blacks, holding up his lightsaber. The Jedi symbol would replace the infinity sign.

2 THE HIGH PRIESTESS = AHSOKA TANO / IT IS MADE! -->

High Priestess is further along the path of her magic than Magician, and her knowledge is more intuitive, her skills more effortless. Where the Magician is still learning the balance of light and dark, the High Priestess knows the value and pitfalls of both. It was always going to be Ahsoka.

If I could draw: Ahsoka sitting cross-legged in meditation mode, but with eyes open and a knowing smile. Instead of two pillars, she holds her lightsabers up and parallel to each other.

3 THE EMPRESS = PELI MOTTO / IT IS MADE! -->

The Empress is the mother figure, the energy in the universe that provides all that is needed and embodies the energy of creation. I can see the argument for Omera being the Empress--mostly because she is a mom and she’s soft and a lot of people see the Empress as a soft female figure, I get it. (And if I were to do a minor arcana, girl would show up as one of the Queens for sure.) But in the end, I gave it to Peli because she’s a recurring character, more relevant in his story, and if Din is the Fool, Peli is more an Empress to him. She’s able to be the provider of his particular needs; services to his ship to get him up flying, contact and location information, and she’s always willing to care for Grogu whenever she gets the chance.

If I could draw: Peli sitting in the dock, against the R4 unit, holding aloft a spanner and surrounded by her pit droids.

4 THE EMPEROR = BOBA FETT / IT IS MADE! -->

The Emperor is all about authority. And all I gotta say about Boba is BIG DICK ENERGY.

If I could draw: Just put him on the Jabba throne and let him lounge like a badass.

5 THE HIEROPHANT = THE ARMORER / IT IS MADE! -->

The Hierophant is the keeper of traditions and a spiritual guide. As the leader of the covert and keeper of the Way, The Armorer fits.

If I could draw: The Armorer, framed by her forge, holding aloft her tools, with Mandalorian acolytes. Instead of the crossed keys at the bottom, let’s just have a mythosaur skull.

6 THE LOVERS = FROG LADY AND FROG HUSBAND

This should be obvious and I will fight anyone who says it isn’t the right thing to do. I will die for this.

If I could draw: I would actually depart from the Smith depiction and just draw them embracing or holding each other by the arms and staring into each others’ eyes. Some kind of glowing background? Maybe the egg tank?

7 THE CHARIOT = THE MUDHORN

Oh. You thought I was going to say the Razor Crest, didn’t you. Don’t worry, I have plans for our beloved craft, but it ain’t here. The Chariot can be a ride, yes, but it’s about victory. Sometimes it’s about the victory over your inner “beastly” natures. To travel to the next phase in the journey, the Fool must take on the beasts that drive the Chariot and claim dominance over them, and when he does, they will carry him to the next level. Since it’s the victory of the beastly mudhorn that brings Din to his bond with Grogu and becomes his signet, Mudhorn for the win.

If I could draw: Again, I’d probably play on Smith’s imagery, put the charging mudhorn in the middle, and replace the rams with Din on his knees brandishing the vibroblade and Grogu in his pram with his Force hand up.

8 STRENGTH = CARA DUNE

Don’t come at me about including Cara. I am glad Gina got shown the door and I lose no love on that bigot. But. Cara is not Gina and to cut her out is to cut out Jon and Dave’s creation and I won’t do it. I actually love her a lot--she’s got her flaws, but she’s sassy and strong and solid, and I would happily accept a piggyback ride from her any day. She’s also a major player in Din’s story and deserves a spot in it. Strength comes after the Chariot--once you’ve conquered the beast within, you have confident dominion over it and it becomes a companion or a tool for your use. Cara is one with her toughness, she’s used it to do some good and bad shit in her past, and she continues to wield it effortlessly and fearlessly. She is absolutely this card.

If I could draw: I would put her maybe sitting on top of the downed ATST. I’d replace the infinity symbol over her head with the one on her cheek (Rebel Alliance).

9 THE HERMIT = KUIIL

The Hermit is a loner, yes, but in his solitude he looks within, learns from all he’s been through, and becomes wise. He holds aloft a light of wisdom and truth. This was always going to be Kuiil.

If I could drawn: Just our buddy, looking out over the Arvala-7 landscape, holding aloft an in-universe working lamp. No need to get fancy. He would want it to stay simple.

10 THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE = IMPERIAL SYMBOL AND STORM TROOPERS

The Wheel is fate. You win some, you lose some. Sometimes you’re on top, and sometimes the Wheel crushes you beneath it. You are helpless to its roll and where you’ll land. Storm Troopers are such a sad bunch. They are keepers of Imperial Law on the ground. On a good day, they capture a Rebel or hold off an attack. On a bad day, their Moff just blasts them to make an example.

If I could draw: The wheel would just be the Imperial symbol and there’d be Troopers on and under it. Maybe the one on top is just standing there, looking authoritative. The one underneath has been blasted. Some Wheels have two more figures--one on each side--and I’d add those too. The one on the down-going side would be falling, arms flailing, blaster shooting (if only sound were available, there’d be a Whilhelm scream), and the one on the up-going side would just be dangling by one arm, along for the ride.

11 JUSTICE = COBB VANTH

Well, it just feels right to make the Marshal into Justice. But it’s not just a literal translation of making sure the right thing gets done and the bad guys are punished. Justice is about wiping away emotion and making decisions with bare truth, looking at every side of the situation and understanding what is really there. And I think Cobb fits this well. He doesn’t want to give up his armor because of what it means for the protection of his people. But he’s willing to consider it, if there’s another way he can protect them. Emotionally, he doesn’t want to deal with the Tusken Raiders, but he does it because he can see it’s the best course of action. He flies into battle with the Krayt Dragon. He gives up his armor without a fight. He makes a fair trade and sees the balance in it because he walks away from the emotion and chooses the best course of action. Cobb Vanth for Justice, errybody.

If I could draw: Cobb in the Fett armor, but with the helmet at his feet. In one hand, a bottle of spotchka. In the other, the Tusken mushroom drinky thing; he’s holding them with equal balance.

12 THE HANGED MAN = MIGS MAYFELD

The Hanged Man is not just about a dude who’s hanging upside down. (If that was the case, I would have just gone with Gor Koresh and called it a day.) Hanged Man is about changing your perspective to see things in a new way so you can grow. Many times, this growth also requires sacrifice. Over the two episodes we see Mayfeld, we know he goes from Imperial sharp shooter, to traumatized deserter, to merc, prisoner, and exonerated friend. He’s seen some shit, given up a lot, and he’s willing to see how he can be a help to others and find redemption for himself.

If I could draw: Hear me out. Take the image of Mayfeld hanging upside down from the Crest hatch into the prison ship. Mirror that above with an image of him in his Imperial Ground Transport gear. Flip it all upside down so bad Mayfeld up top, good Mayfeld on bottom, images mirrored but inverted, hence “looking at things a new way and getting everything a little topsy-turvey.”

13 DEATH = MOFF GIDEON

Death is about transformation, so it’s not always the most sinister card. But Death does not discriminate. It comes for us all, constantly stalking, and it will strike you down to serve its needs. You need to face Death to get to your redemption. But really, Gideon is our big baddie here, so why the hell not.

If I could draw: I would forgo the Smith illustration and go for the Marseilles tradition on this one. Gideon and the Darksaber replaces Death and the scythe.

14 TEMPERANCE = IG-11

Temperance is the transformation that comes after Death. Once Death has chopped your physical being into pieces with his scythe, Temperance is there to take all your pieces and put them back together into something new and better. It’s also a card that asks you to re-evaluate your priorities and see if you can find better motivations than you previously had. IG’s death and reprogramming speak loudly to me on this.

If I could draw: IG pouring the tea.

15 THE DEVIL = THE CLIENT

Here’s another baddie card that’s all about your worst faults, about excess and giving into the stuff that will eventually kill your soul. The Client holds on hard to the Empire, doing whatever he’s ordered to do to be one of the top dogs. And in the end, it doesn’t matter. Gideon takes him down like he’s nothing.

If I could draw: The client, wearing his Empire bling, with chains around Doctor Pershing and a rough-looking Storm Trooper.

16 THE TOWER = THE RAZOR CREST

I don’t know about you, but Chapter 14 killed me. And not because the Dark Troopers flew away with Grogu. We all knew Din would never stop at getting him back. But when the Crest was destroyed, it was like someone punched me in the soft parts, and I made a lot of severely anguished noises. The Tower is the most tragic card in the tarot. It’s when forces beyond your control make a very big (and usually negative) impact in your life and everything changes. You are left to pick up the pieces and survive any way you can with the skills and resources you’ve been blessed with.

If I could draw: Just that moment of the ray hitting our beautiful Crest, just as it begins to break apart, maybe with Din, Boba, and Fennec watching in horror in the foreground.

17 THE STAR = GROGU

The Star is hope. It comes after the biggest tragedy in the deck to tell you that not all is lost. There is always something there to live for. C’mon, kids. In this series, there was only one choice.

If I could draw: Just Grogu. Maybe drinking his soup. Or maybe he’s levitating his metal ball overhead, reaching up to it with a smile on his face. *coos*

18 THE MOON = BO KATAN KRYZE

We all like Bo Katan, sure. But remember my Clone Wars/Rebels fiends, she was Death Watch, and they were terrorists. She sided with Maul to take over Mandalore. Sure, she’s come a long way and her path is a bit more honorable now, but she’s got an agenda, which makes her hard to trust. Since the Moon is about more feminine energies and has themes of illusion and deception--things look great in the moonlight, but maybe not as they really are--Bo Katan’s our girl.

If I could draw: Head and shoulders profile, double-imaged so you see her face, but her Nite Owl helmet superimposed in profile over it. Nite Owl signet on the bottom. Possibly flanked by her two Nite Owl cronies.

19 THE SUN = GREEF KARGA

Everything's sunny when Greef’s around! He’s the feel-good gramps that’s going to make any situation A-Ok! If you’ve got a problem, Greef can sort it out...or he knows someone who can! The sun is always gonna shine on you and take you back.

If I could draw: Just Greef smiling and being cheesy with the halo of the sun around him.

20 JUDGEMENT = FENNEC SHAND

This card traditionally shows the resurrected rising from the grave, ready to be judged. Fennec’s got a lot to answer for in her life, but she is being given a second chance, and my number one girl crush is going to do new and wonderful badass things with it.

If I could draw: I’d either just show her opening her gut pocket to show her new works, all full of aura, with her looking down at it reverently. OR I might do a scene of her being rescued by Boba.

21 THE WORLD = THE HELMET

Din’s helmet is the world he lives in. But it’s also a symbol of The Way. The World represents completion, a wholeness of self and being, the end of the journey. And since Din is our Fool, his journey is an exploration of his morals and honor, what it means to walk the way of the Mandalore, and what the meaning of the helmet is for him. He may choose ultimately to keep it on and go all-in on Mandalorian-4-lyfe (Child of the Watch style), or he may understand that the helmet is just a symbol and the honor was in him all along; he can wear it or not wear it and it’s all the same.

If I could draw: The World usually depicts a circle or sphere of some kind, the symbol of perfect completion. The helmet is close enough, so it takes up the center. Traditionally, there are four symbols in the corners that give more meaning to The World, and I would replace them with The Razor Crest, Grogu, the Mudhorn Signet, and the pulse rifle or blaster. These represent his home, his foundling, his clan, and his religion, all of which make up more of the whole; what it means to him to be Mandalorian.

Selena’s turn! This will be probably a little longer that the others, first character I did in this fandom, complex story.

*Selena was the only child from a Chiss Marriage who left the unknow Regions, scaping from the GRYSKS.

*Becaus the chiss were a very rare specie in the galaxy and many knew about the alliance with the Sith Empire in the Old Republic times, wasn’t easy for them to survive...in one point her parents were so desesperate for credits and food that the decided to sell their own Daughter as a slave, at least like that she would have a chance of not starving to the death in the streets as they ended.

*Selena ended in a slave Market but soon she was buyed by a bunch of cultist, who trusted in the force in a bizarre and tribal way. Used Selena as an idol, and didnt let her doing more that stay quiet and pose like a totem.

*During this time, She was found by Count Dooku, who already leave the Jedi order and iniciated the Separatist Movement.

*Because all this happened in a tiny planet far form the center of the Republic, Selena trusted in the Count’s vision, so she joined him as an agent and was trained by him.

*During this time She found a rival...and even some kind of frien in Asajj Ventress, but seeing what that could become, Dooku started to train them far from each other.

*When the Clone Wars started she met Erios in the other faction, at the beginning she tryed to avoid him and treat him like the enemy he was but soon his charaisma and charm melt her hearth. Bit by bit she became a little less serious and more kind, even with their droids.

*Dooku discovered the relationship between the chiss and the Sargeant but seeing how Ventress started to dispoint him more and more, and seeing that soon he will need to get raid of her, he decided to keep the chiss as an “spare apprentice”

*Durin a campaing, She and Erios discovered an ancient temple of the force and had a vision about how this dark-light battle started centuries ago and it will keep going for much more, so beside they know this war was useless, they still fought for what they belived.

*When the Empire was born, she became an ISA with other Force Users in the inquisitorus, after all, She still defended more the Control that the Freedom, after all, even with the Republic the Galaxy was in complete chaos under crime lords and mafias...at least with the empire the punishments would be harder.

*The first time she met Erios again after the Purge was in presence of the Rebels of Lothal, they both look eachother and ordered their forces to stop shooting, then just ran to each other and hug and kissed very passionate in fornt of the confuse forces, after smailing both activate their laight saber and started, as they called, “Their favourite dance”.

*During her time as an Imperial Agent she was charm and showed mercy and kind to Imperial personal, despite her “alien discrimination” most of the low ranks respected her and even admired her.

*She also worked with the Great Admiral Thrawn, he asked her about her past in the Chiss regions, but she was so little that don´t even remembered, so the admiral soon lost his interest. Beside, Thrawn described her as “too warm and jazzy” for a chiss.

*Even if all of them knew about her relationship with a rebel, it was´t a law or a rule against dating a person in the other faction, so they also meet each other in neutral planets and standart comunications, most of the time Erios had to run away, scaping from the imps but, according with him “It was worthy for seeing his Blue, Red-Eye, angel”

*Once, She and Erios were in a date and even invited Sabine and Ezra, who were buying supplies, was very ankward for the jedi and the mandalorian girl but Selena and Erios enyojed every second.

*During this date, Sabine accuse Erios of being an idiot and a joke, because only a traitor would be friend with an ancient enemy like a dark user of the force. Selena only smirks and add “You know that Mandalorians are considered even a more ancient enemy of the jedi, don’t you?” Sabine just watched the chiss, then Ezra, and sit down, quietly and blushed.

*Before the death of the Empire, she was able to recover in an ancient temple an old Sith device. After hide it, She became a bounty hunter. She has her new home in Nar Shaddaa, where she lieved with Erios. During her new career she met the mandalorian and baby Yoda during a couple of missions.

*When the First Order started to moving, Erios and Selena knew that the next round in the endless conflict started, so they use all the fortune BOTH obtained during their lives as a gladiator and a Bounty Hunter and buy two Kaminoans Clones of themselves.

*Thanks to a Sith devices Selena Recover from the empire, both were able to pass their souls and memories to younger and stronger bodies. Both enjoy each others companie before to go bak to their factions.

*After the Starkiller Base destroyed Hosnian Prime’s system Selena quoted “F*ck this sh*t I´m out!” and joined Erios, so both joined the Resistance. After all, She defended Order, but blowing up an entire system was madness...also, she didn’t like Kylo Ren’s company.

*Both fought against the First Order untill the final battle in Corusant, where they take part of the Orbit fight using their new ship “The Rendemption”

*Again, after the battle, both refuse to be part of Rey’s Reborn Jedi Order and decided to travel for the galaxy and try to find their own balance.

*Now they are thinking on travel to the Unknow Regions and meet Selena´s people, The Chiss Ascendancy.

Our top story is the chaotic state that Coronet has been in seems to be settling? It’s hard to say but most of the riots have dispensed and the fires are out. Here’s what we know..

Civilian unrest rose dramatically, their complaints varying from some who seemed to support Human League sentiments to others who were enraged about Mandalorian murderers being allowed off the hook by CorSec higher ups. At the same time this shadowy organization known as the GenoHaradan seemed to be engaging in operations. It’s hard to say what was causes by riots and what they did. What we can say is that the body count is very high, and many local businesses have been lost in the chaos.

Things became so out of control that the Prime Minister authorized an emergency act which would allow CDF Militant forces to assist CorSec in restoring order as she hoped to avoid the escalation into full martial law. This upset the civilians further, but did seem to have the intended effect of dwindling down the chaos, the GenoHaradan for the most part fading from the scene..

Though one of them known as “Deathscythe” was cornered on the city skylines. .It seemed he was holding off on the retreat. It was here he was engaged by our unknown heroes who successfully managed to bring him down. Forcing him into retreat, it was said his ship crashed into the Riverlands, it is unknown if he survived the crash.

These once shadowy individuals, have been accused of the worst galactic disasters including the Sacking of Bothawui, Subjugation of Bengat, Assassinations in Coruscant and it seems the Fall of Corellia would have been there most recent.

Through the manipulation of Klora and Nex’ron of the Scourge they successfully invoked fear and disorder into the hearts and minds of the people. But if not for the heroic acts of a few. That saw them defeated they would have succeeded.

To bring Corellia down to what end, remains a mystery but rumors that The GenoHaradan we’re hired remains a likely reason with a number of culprits The GenoHaradan Jäger Wulf, DeathScythe, BlazeBlade and KillerGhost. Four mythical figures among those in the know wrecked havoc tearing Corellia down piece by piece. And as the city tore itself apart in the final act, our brave heroes continued to stand strong against its instigators.

What looked like a inevitable downfall was averted when DeathScythe was defeated among the city skylines. As order began to return due to the emergency act. Answers were slowly becoming available. The GenoHaradan did not discriminate and whoever had hired them had enough purpose and funding to also hire Klora and Nec’Ron also.

Crisis Averted at NovaFission Power Plant!

Coronet (AP)

A possible nuclear meltdown at the NovaFission owned nuclear plant in Coronet has been averted by a group of heroic individuals. During testing of the fuel rod settings at the plant, a criticality event occured, causing damage to a line of control rods, and jamming the non damaged rods in place, unable to be moved with standard commands.

Increasing the severity of the accident, an electrical surge went through the plant’s electronics lines, causing the retrofitted B1 droids (being used as laborers) to turn on plant staff. An immediate evacuation of all non-essential personnel was ordered, and NovaFission security staff sealed off access to the facility.

A responding group of seven individuals (who have not been named) had gathered near the plant and upon requesting their assistance, the plant’s security allowed them entrance into the facility.

It was reported that the rescue party deftly engaged the out of control droids, sparing the life of the plant’s shift supervisor, all the while gaining access into the facility’s control systems and lowering the control rods into place to allow for a safe shut down of the primary reactor.

Director of Operations of NovaFission, Kika Mur-sa stated the following: “Had it not been for the actions of these brave individuals, I dread to imagine what kind of catastrophe the people of this city would have faced. They acted with astute professionalism and made a dire situation look simple. My company’s sincere gratitude has been passed on to these heroes”.

NovaFission has stated they will look into testing procedures, to determine what the fault was, and to make sure no other events like this will occur.

Galactic News : The Flagless spotted in Mandalorian Space.

Months ago the Corellian System was having trouble with a particularly ruthless and mysterious band of pirates that they’ve come to call the “Flagless” due to their lack of any kind of banner or flag which is unusual for pirates. They also have a tendency to leave valuable cargo behind as if only interested in specific items. What they don’t leave, is anyone alive, which is why we know so little about them or what their agenda may be. They were eventually found to have an outpost on Kessel but they managed to ambush the CDF Navy and destroy it’s flagship before making a tactical withdraw. These are certainly not your run of the mill pirates..

Reports are that they are causing a lot of problems in systems controlled by the Mandalorians, using their quick strike tactics to take down several vessels..

White Worms resurgent?

With the fracturing of the Scourge Coalition only one of the several gangs survived fairly intact and that was the Worms. They seem to have picked up a lot of those whose gangs were destroyed in the Battle of Vreni, as well as many of the civilians who fed up with government.

Darth Rancorous escapes the Fels?!

Rumors suggest Darth Rancorous was able to slip out of Fel Custody, whether this is true or not is unknown as are his whereabouts. He was taken into custody several months ago in a joint operation between the Jedi of Corellia and the Fel’s. When they confronted the former protege’ of Darth Hex there was also an echani female who is rumored to have an uncanny resemblance to Darth Vrana but no word on what has become of her since she left with Rhen Var under the care of the Jedi.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 5

Gorgeous cinematography, lots of action, and plenty of actual answers to the show’s biggest mysteries — The Mandalorian Chapter 12, “The Jedi,” has everything. Drawing on his love for Japanese cinema and his deep understanding of the Star Wars canon he helped create, writer and director Dave Filoni has truly become a master.

The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda arrive at the city of Calodan on the planet Corvus, as Bo-Katan instructed in “The Heiress.” It’s a downtrodden place. Frightened citizens hide away from the punishment they might draw down for speaking to an outsider. The Imperial magistrate they fear, a tyrant named Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), has a job for Mando: kill the Jedi who keeps killing her soldiers.

The story beats happen rather quickly: Din Djarin finds Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) in the woods, learns that Baby Yoda was a Jedi Padawan named Grogu before he disappeared during the Imperial purge of the Jedi Temple, and helps the former Jedi defeat the magistrate. Throughout, the episode does slow down for lingering shots reminiscent of Westerns and samurai showdowns. While the previous episode directed by Filoni felt muddled when compared to the ones helmed by the more experienced live action directors around him, “The Jedi” proves he’s spent a lot of time figuring out how to translate animation to live action and produce a TV show that has the life and color of the former in the fidelity of the latter.

A lot of the fun in this episode comes from seeing a Jedi Master from the animated world pulled into live action and the effortless dynamic between Ahsoka, Din, and Baby Yoda/Grogu. Ahsoka is no longer a child tagging along with Anakin Skywalker, and as a hero in her own right, she can carry the entire legacy of the Jedi on her shoulders. Her demeanor has changed significantly since The Clone Wars, and this Rebels-and-beyond version is my favorite manifestation of the character yet. This era and her decades of experience allow her to stand on her own. She also still clearly cares deeply for the people around her and those she left behind when she left the Jedi Order.

Dawson’s is forceful and deliberate in fight scenes, but with an air of gentle self-assurance just like Obi-Wan Kenobi or Luke Skywalker. Moments of levity and mid-battle smiles evoke the teenager from The Clone Wars without being cloying or too self-referential. Like Filoni, Ahsoka doesn’t need to prove she belongs anymore. She simply does.

As much as I complained about cameos while reviewing Rebels, The Mandalorian‘s references to the animated canon continue to delight in “The Jedi.” But they’re also a bit bizarre: name-dropping Grand Admiral Thrawn takes a lot of the air out of a pivotal scene between Ahsoka and Elsbeth. That said, it’s also a fun puzzle piece with which to tease fans of Rebels. Thrawn is still missing, which means Jedi apprentice Ezra Bridger is still missing, too. Ahsoka set out to look for Ezra at the end of that animated series, and it seems that she’s still searching all these years later.

Ahsoka’s story connects to another part of the saga as well. Her reluctance to train Grogu shows she’s afraid of training another Jedi who might fall to the dark side like Anakin did. I can’t emphasize enough how well she fits into this particular episode both emotionally and physically, her zebra-like striped coloration adding to the alien look of the planet. She’s just a lot of fun to watch.

It’s important to note in this review that Dawson’s casting as Ahsoka is a controversial one. In the real world, a former employee of Rosario Dawson and her family is suing the actor, accusing the family of transphobia and physical assault. But 18 of the 20 accusations, including discrimination and misgendering, have since been dropped, and Dawson has called the allegations as “baseless.” The claims of a physical altercation with Dawson’s mother will be considered in court in December. Some Star Wars fans are collecting funds for the Transgender Law Center in response.

Dawson isn’t the show’s only controversial casting at the moment. Her debut on The Mandalorian also comes just a week after some fans petitioned for Disney to fire Gina Carano (Cara Dune) from the show.

Aside from Ahsoka’s presence, the episode demonstrates a mature sensibility by understating the nature vs. industrialization theme often present in Star Wars. The Clone Wars isn’t exactly known for being subtle, but this episode gives off the sense of having been refined down and down until an elegant story sat on top of the easily understood but never quite spoken threat. The Imperial magistrate is obviously cruel to both the people and the environment. No one has to come out and say that she’s poisoning the ground to see that the forest around the village is dead and the magistrate walls off her own garden inside. The setting also quietly sends the message that the Jedi is on the side of nature as well as the people.

And what about the heart of the show, the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda? The episode doesn’t play the baby’s prospective separation from its father figure as heart-wrenching. Instead, it’s almost inevitable that the two will walk away together. There’s no way showrunner Jon Favreau, Filoni, or or the rest of the creative team will write either character out of the show. Because of this, Mando doesn’t seem particularly worried that he might lose the child. Any pathos I might have wanted here instead comes from Ahsoka’s obvious fear of training a difficult student only to have him end up like Anakin. Although she isn’t officially a Jedi anymore, she’s seen Anakin’s life first hand, and believes that the Jedi were right when they declared strong attachments are a path to the dark side.

If Grogu’s love for Mando becomes possessive or destructive, he could go down the route of Darth Vader. The dynamic between Ahsoka and Din, both of them comfortable together and never seeming to need to prove anything to the other, provides this uncertainty with a backdrop of reassurance. If anyone can make things okay for the child, it’s these two.

The Jedi training scenes are utterly delightful. The camera does a lot of work making Ahsoka seem mystical, particularly when she and the child are silhouetted against the moon like the Madonna and baby in a halo. One of the great joys of Star Wars is watching Jedi be cool and dangerous. The fog of Corvus works so well for that, with Ahsoka a wraith in the mist or the alleyways. And yet her appearance is not muddled or teased, not obscured behind inclement weather or night. The camera takes a comic book joy in watching her command a scene. And Pedro Pascal shines as usual, his head tips, cowboy walk, and deadpan responses (“I keep it around for luck”) are all equally expressive. His praise for the child is particularly heartwarming.

“The Jedi” is a reminder, as a lot of this season has been, that this show is both a visual spectacle and a technical masterclass of doing a lot with a little. It’s great to get out of the deserts of Tatooine and Nevarro. The Mandalorian continues to be so, so entertaining, and to connect to other parts of Star Wars without feeling precious about them.
