Detroit: Become Family, "Devotion" Prompt

Kinda going backwards here, but I spent the most time on it... Even though I couldn't finish completing all the prompts, I wanted to leave this for last 😊

It captures a different meaning in terms of 'devotion' because I mean it as a 'devoted tribute' to a fic that makes me endlessly happy/inspired. So, this goes out to @woo-lesbeano

Her story "Investigations and Emotions (And Handling Both)" is something I always go back to, so as a 'thank you,' I wanted to render a certain scene: Human!Connor finally catching a break and eating falafel while Android!Hank watches on protectively/affectionately.

Detroit: Become Family, "Calm" (and "Confidence" in a way) Prompt

Specifically to paint 'opposite' to the previous scene, we have Connor being successful in a bust and Hank is in Proud-Papa!mode instead, hehe. Connor followed the rules this time and did his job well (and safely!).

It looks like an old-timey bank, but I loved the design too much to pass up on it. And it was funny including NPCs that are just there to look impressed :) I realize some things are anachronistic here other than the bank, but welp, my pixel resources are limited ;P

I hope the 'ruffle hair' effect paid off and that Connor's blue LED is pretty visible.

Detroit: Become Family, "Troubled" (and "Doubt" in a way) Prompt

For this prompt, I considered Connor getting in trouble (with Hank) for getting involved in a red ice bust. So, here we have Pissed-Off-Dad!Hank grilling him in a literal interrogation as he tries to get his kid to confess he was needlessly reckless (and to promise to *never* do this again) :P

We have Gavin as a bonus character too, finally sympathizing with Connor somewhat 😅

Oh, and I have the red LED kinda visible - to highlight a contrast since the next part features a blue LED ^^

Detroit: Become Family, "Darkness" & "Light" Prompts

Ok, so I was cheap this year and started accumulating prompts without sharing them on time... 😰 Things got tangled up with RL work, but now I'm here for the last day, at least.

At least I'll be able to contribute in a marathon-like fashion.

For the 2nd and 3rd prompts, I fused them together to envision a family trip for Hank & Connor ^^ So they'd be at a summer house, star-gazing. Hank indulges Connor and listens to him talk on and on about constellations, but really, he's just glad to see his adoptive son ramble happily :3

BSD - Cozy Prompt for Found-Family Event ^_^

This is a late entry for some Christmas prompts, but welp - it's still December anyway 🎄

It took me a while to assemble all of this, but it's supposed to coincide with the following prompts, all in one setting: "Doting," "City Bustle" and "Jealousy."

There's a crime scene, and while Fukuzawa and Ranpo are enjoying success (with Ranpo being quite content given his father figure's praise), an unexpected witness (Oda) represents someone who may be envious of their adoptive familial closeness.

I was worried about the quality of the effects and the different layouts, so I hope it all seems quite smooth as a final result :3

Week 2: Danger & Safety (Dual)

(As usual, the disclaimer would be that most of these resources are royalty-free, based off of Maplestory and Habbactive, along with images from Giphy.

Late again, but I thought to combine both of last week’s prompts into a single narrative: Connor having a nightmare, and then going to Hank for comfort! ^_^

I had fun with this one, but I hope it’s not too disorienting. On that note, the flashes are meant to be effects of lightning and, ahem, a transitional sort of shortcut to avoid additional animation (i.e. like Connor rushing around), as you’ll see :P

Another thing: I headcanon that Connor’s room is the garage having been repurposed, hence the big room there.

Theme: Home

A bit late, but here’s a pixel-animation I actually made a year ago, but kept to myself. Coincidentally, it matches the “Home” prompt for the DBH event. I just hope it doesn’t disclose how much of an amateur I was at the time XD

Scene: on a stormy night, the Anderson family is relaxing after having watched TV. Hank’s rubbing Connor’s back with paternal affection as he helps soothe the android in the middle of all the thunder/lightning (as I headcanon that these elements spook Connor quite a bit at first). Sumo is lounging in the corner, dozing as well :)

Week 3: Feeling/Joy

I also added a melee of cartoon clips, varying from anime to Looney Tunes, but since they’re altered and so short-spanned, I wouldn’t worry about copyright strikes)

It’s June (FATHER’S DAY), but is it ever a bad time to bring up Christmas? :3 So, here you have Connor’s first official Christmas celebration (first year was too touchy, so they’d probably do this the second time around). I’d imagine Connor would get quite a kick out of it, with Hank only pretending to be a Grinch, lol. Enjoy!

Theme: Work (Week 1, so I’m late again)

The prompt was “work” and though we have ‘cameos’ by some of the DPD colleagues and a shot of crime scenes/the office, this is really about Hank spoiling his android kid and making exceptions for him ^_^

Again, this was something I made a year ago, but I fine-tuned some of it to make it more presentable/relevant for this event. Still hope it looks OK.
