Sasha snatched the pillow away and Anetra squinted at the sudden brightness. “Okay. No quitting then. What options does that leave?”

Anetra threw her arm over her eyes, half-regretting coming here. “Die a slow painful death? Move to the Philippines and change my name to start a fresh new life as a schoolteacher in the Visayas? Murder-suicide with my parents?”

Sasha didn’t respond and after a few beats of silence, Anetra peeked out from behind her arm. Sasha was still perched in the same spot, arms crossed. Their eyes met and Sasha finally — finally cracked a smile. “No murder-suicide or slow painful deaths. We have to be bitchy old ladies together in 60 years.”

Anetra let herself smile too, just slightly, dropping her arm and perching up on her elbows. “Philippines it is then. I hope you like the heat.”

Sasha snorted “I’m from Hawaii. I thrive as an island girl.”

“Great. I’ll call myself Marina and you’re… I don’t know. Princess or something.”

“Princess? I thought Marcia had dibs on that one,” Sasha smirked, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

marcia hcs:

-she's mixed chinese&filipino, though she's more educated on filipino culture and knows tagalog

-she doesn't take much time to educate herself on chinese culture because she feels that she'll be mocked for it and her mother gets on her for not taking the time to learn about it

-she only knows a couple phrases in chinese because of how her mother scolds her

-she absolutely h a t e s bob and bob hates her just as much.

-they once got into a physical fight which was broken up by cherry, only bob was reprimanded for that one

-she regularly argues with him

-randy and her started out as good friends, though were pressured into a relationship by their parents, thus why she was fine with flirting with two-bit

-her humor can be very dry, as well as being similar to two-bit's

-after the drive-in, she started running into two-bit and johnny more and began to spend time with them

-she asked two-bit about johnny's scar and once he said something about johnny mentioning a blue mustang, she subconsciously began using that to detest bob even more

-she goes to drag races with the gang once they become more comfortable with the idea of her being around them

-she's bisexual and her first kiss was with another girl on the cheer team

-she's on the shorter side, being only about 5'0-5'1

-she and johnny jokingly bicker about who's taller

-the first one in the gang aside from two-bit and johnny that opened up to her being around them was soda

-she's on the cheer team with cherry, she's a flyer

-two-bit goes to the school's pep rallies just to see her and then leaves shortly after

-she had a decent childhood, though was frequently bullied for her race

-she sometimes resents cherry due to how often she's overlooked by others when she's with her

-she and two-bit started dating a week or two after the drive-in, because she started talking to him at school and spending time with him

-she makes randy aware of her feelings towards two-bit before she starts dating him

-he takes this as a chance to come out to her, bringing the two closer

-they still pretend to be dating around her parents to avoid suspicion, since she knows that they wouldn't approve of two-bit

-she's an extrovert with strong ADHD which she doesn't take medication for

-she's enjoys physical affection more than anything

-once she gets closer to the gang, she establishes an older sister role with ponyboy

-she offers to help cook every once in a while

-her cooking isn't the best but it's good enough to make a decent meal, though she wants to be a better cook

-she teases two-bit about his thing for blondes and how he's dating her, a brunette despite his type

Also in the other au marcia has a nightmare abt the assassination one time and ends up screaming in her sleep and waking up some of the kids 😔😔 and also making sarah+silas very concerned for her. There is eventually some kind of talk abt how everyone is doing mentally but it does not happen then it takes longer <3 bc marcia refuses to talk abt her feelings ever especially with a heap. But basically the heaps r doing fine bc they're used to living in a single room. Marcias apartment is Huge compared to what they're used to. But marcia is having a Bad Time even outside of it being the heaps specifically who r there she just. Doesnt do well spending that much time around ppl constantly 😔 she's snappy and mean by literally day 2 and it takes forever for silas+sarah to realise that is Not in fact marcias default state that is what she does under intense stress. Rip

As much as Anetra hated Marcia – or rather, knew that she should hate Marcia – she almost wished she could ask her for advice. If anyone would know about good dancing for shows, it would be her.

But that wasn’t an option. She could reach out to Alyssa again, ask for more tips, but she had already given her plenty, and Anetra didn’t want to seem like a burden. Jackie, sweet as she was, had two left feet. Sasha, she just didn’t want to ask – so she was out too.
