“Ohmygod…. I’m sorry.” Pheobe’s little nervous laugh is rewarded with a smile as Maria tucks a curl of hair from her eyes. She’s known of Maria for a while but this is the first time they’ve met since. Nick and Maria’s marriage had fallen apart and at the last minute Pheobe had pulled away from marrying Finn. Both men had been sure they would get along however and Maria had agreed if only to get them both some peace. Ice and Ice Skating had been the answer, Maria’s laugh soft when Pheobe finally relaxed. This was the fourth near fall, Maria’s quick twist to catch Pheobe rescuing her again. Now though Maria leads her over towards the middle of the rink, away from others. Confidence had never been much of an issue for Maria, but she was slowly falling for Pheobe’s shy charm. “You okay?” “Mmm, just…. Not so great with ice.” Later, as Pheobe lets Maria lead her towards a small café, she wonders if maybe, just maybe, she’s found someone for good this time.

A/N: Another day for @storiesofsvu 's Holiday Bingo. Fills the Home for the Holidays square.

Elana had always known she’d have to be lucky to have Maria home for the Holidays. She hoped she’d make it, of course, and she still decorated, just in case. It would, at the very least, give her a chance to see Maria smile. Now, as she settled to making Christmas cookies and gingerbread cookies she hoped the surprise would be worth it. If not she at least would have plenty of snacks to enjoy. She was just finishing the first batch when she heard keys at the door, moving to position herself delicately under the mistletoe, as if she had known Maria would make it home. “Honey I’m home…” The call came as the door opened and Elana’s smile is bright and warm as she stands, watching Maria approach before wrapping her arms around the woman, kissing her softly. “Welcome home, my beautiful Christmas gift.”
