So I’m not really into the Barian Emps as other people in the fandom are (though I did used to be). I haven’t watched ZEXAL specifically for Barian content in a loooong time, but! In my teens, the answer was Rio/Marin/Merag! I liked her aesthetic, her special clairvoyance powers, and thought her Barian design was just gorgeous. I still do, honestly!

Rio and Shark have the most perfect sibling represantaion I have ever seen.

Sure Kite and Hart are good, the Arclight siblings are fun to watch, but these two are the funniest sibling duo I have ever seen.

One of them basically cheated in a tournament, and changed his personality to everyone else around him all because the only family member he had left is in the hospital...and then we then see him telling her, to all of her friends no less, that he reads her diary and tells her how many times he kicked her ass in duels.

And Rio doesn't even back down, hell she is even more fierce. She basically told to all of her friends that the most serious man in school is afraid of Onions and Peppers.

Although she can be very hotheaded, she gets into fights every now and then and kicking people in the shins if they bully her friends and/or call her short and gave them the middle finger

Zexal month day 24- The Star upright

One of my favourite themes/lore is the whole Chaos vs Order theme they have going on. It seems clear that they're trying to show both need to co-exist, not just through how Astral and Yuma, one of order the other of chaos, need to be united to form Zexal, but also the state of Astral World and Barian World.

Astral World is entirely of order, and we can see the effect has on the world in how the world seems to be entirely under Eliphas's control, following one single rule, one Order, up until Yuma restores Chaos, and shows them what it's like to break away from order.

Barian World is entirely chaos. And that's very clearly represented in their leadership too. Whenever we see the Barians, when are they not arguing about something or another? Additionally, they have the added bonus of Vector Shinanigans and Dumon is still dealing with the loss of Nasch and Marin, and of course Don Thousand is an additional background source of chaos. And that's not even addressing the actual terrains of both worlds (eg Astral World having still waves on the ocean, Barian World having from what i remember a dangerous angry ocean)

Neither world is functioning in a healthy and stable way. Excluding the physical sickness, Barian World is under unstable leadership with dangerous weather conditions and harsh terrain, while Astral World is under dictatorship and while physically habitable, it's not socially safe for people. There needs to be a balance of chaos and order for them to thrive, and not just because of the whole magical stuff.

I also believe Chaos is from creation/destruction or change while Order represents stagnation and sameness, and that's probably how the whole Chaos Numbers thing works vs New Orders.

The intent of Chaos Numbers is made from a desire to change/someone who has changed/something new. When we first see a chaos number, it's after Astral's desires have changed. He's no longer focused on his fears, he's focused on saving Yuma and their friends. He's grown. When someone creates a chaos number, it's after an emotional change or growth. As for the ones with Rank Up Magic cards, those cards were made due to the Barian's desire to change things.

New Orders on the other hand were created through Rank Up Astral's Force, by Eliphas. Who wanted to keep the world the same. He kept talking about the "impurity" of the chaos numbers from what i recall, and that's because of the intent of those numbers' creation. It's not the actual numbers that are impure to Eliphas, but the intent behind it.

Speaking of which, I also believe there is Good Chaos and Bad Chaos, and Good Order and Bad Order.

Good Chaos vs Bad Chaos: Remember how i said chaos is creation or destruction? Good chaos is creation and growth, bad chaos is destruction. It's important to note I'm not talking about natural destruction, which opens way to new birth. I'm talking about senseless destruction. The creation vs destruction thing is best shown by the difference in Astral and Yuma's Chaos Numbers versus the Barians' Chaos xyz (by which i mean regular xyz that become Chaos xyz due to the Rank Up cards). The chaos numbers were born out of a desire to create a new and better future, while the chaos xyz were born out of a desire for destruction.

Yuma and Vector or Mist's chaos also represent this: Yuma's chaos healed Astral World, it created growth. It created a new path for Astral World by creating a new possibility in Eliphas's mind. Meanwhile Vector and especially Mist (who is probably chaos incarnate- just for that lipstick alone which i will NEVER forgive /hj) were out to destroy stuff. Mist's entire desire was destruction because HE CAN, and that was amplified due to the chaos of the Rank Up Magic card.

Also, Yuma and Mist's chaos each have the opposite affect on Astral. While Yuma's chaos "infected" Astral by causing Astral to grow as a person and created Astral's ability to feel and hope, Mist's chaos destroys Astral.

What makes chaos bad or good? I believe person's own desires influence their chaos to be good or bad, although they can also be infected by a strong force of either form of chaos from an outside source. Examples are Astral being negatively influenced by his own chaos due to Vector manipulating his desires negatively, and Eliphas being influenced positively by Yuma's chaos.

The same is for order: a person's desire makes their order good or bad, and an outside source can infect them. Take Eliphas for an example: his Order made him controlling and rigid, closing his mind. That's bad Order. Meanwhile, good Order can actually be found in the much ignored Ena. How? Ena is also an Astral World leader, in charge of those outcasts. Notice that there was complete calm among them. Even when Yuma was dueling, there was relative calm among the people while still being concerned, and Ena was the one in charge. That is good Order: being calm and collected, no panicking. Good Order is calm, peace. Bad Order is stagnation, not allowing for change. And just like with chaos, too much of it can consume someone.

Anyway, that concludes my award winning essay. My favourite lore/theme is chaos and order. I just think it's neat :D

I really enjoyed the world that I created for this story. Our main character is Marin, the Seventh and Youngest Daughter of Abyss, King of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and father of her and her six Older Sisters, Cathy, Anna, Jen, Summer, Dextra, and Kari. Marin has a pet Octopus, Nash, who she treats as a Younger brother, and her Three Cousins of the Three other Underwater Kingdoms are Dumon of the South Atlantic ocean, Vector of the North Pacific Ocean and Mizar of the South Pacific. Marin and her six sisters possesse the ability to from a mermaid into a human. On land is Duchess Tori Meadows, who went on a galleon for her birthday. The galleon sinks on that fateful night, but the Duchess washes up on shore, completely unharmed. She is found by her father. Having saved the Duchess and slept by her side and sung a song so beautiful until her father found her, Marin can’t bring herself to forget the human girl. Her heart is pulled back towards the shore, where a journey of pain, love and misery awaits her as she realises she is the prophcised Siren queen.
