is there something you hate about your fav characters? would you change something in their characterisation/writing in canon? if not, what's your fav moment with them?

I have lots of characters I love, but I'll just do my top two. :)

Tails — His inconsistency over the years is 🙃 not my fave, to say the least. I really hate how much backsliding his character did, how often he was shoved to the side, and Forces was really just the worst of it in every single way. If I could change all that, I would in a heartbeat, but at least Frontiers is setting us on a better path now.

My favorite moment of his in the games is probably when he throws hands with Eggman over Sonic's apparent death in SA2 and wins. THAT'S my boy right there ♥ But his Frontiers writing was really good, too. In the comics, the way he took down Surge and protected Sonic from Kit in Issue #54 was also top-tier, chef's kiss, mwah. He was also sooo cute and good in Scrapnik Island, too.

Whisper — Aside from how I feel she was nerfed big time in Issues #53 / 54 against Surge, I can't really think of anything. I mean, to be fair I'm not the biggest fan of how she's been handled since the Metal Virus, but that's because she was put on a bus and only brought back to get her ass kicked, her annual story with Jet aside. I'm hoping that improves in the coming arc.

My favorite Whisper moment was, tragically, when she absolutely lost her shit when Tangle got infected during the Metal Virus arc. :( but I also loved the moment she let Tangle in during their miniseries, and their reunion after the Metal Virus arc too.

how do you think a meeting between blaze and shadow would go? furthermore thoughts of this duo would be a cool addition:))

archie did a cool thing where their first meeting was largely just shadow trying to get home/out of blaze's dimension and not very long, just a brief meeting that garnered some respect on both sides -> the next time they meet, rouge wants a sol emerald .... amy and cream are trying to get it for blaze .... the babylon rogues want it just cause it's them ..... nack/fang bark and bean want it cause it's them etc. etc.

so initially blaze reams shadow for being a dick essentially (he tries to apologize about the whole thing but if he were REALLY sorry, he wouldn't be trying to deprive blaze of an emerald literally vital to her dimension just like how the chaos emeralds are for his) and in the end shadow does the right thing and gives the sol emerald to blaze thus ending on good terms again with continued mutual respect for each others' skills etc etc OKAY SO WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY

IN THE GAMES THEMSELVES CONSIDERING FUCKING NO ONE INTERACTS WITH BLAZE IN 06 ASIDE FROM SILVER, i think it might be a similar situation maybe? like either sol emerald or chaos emerald fuckery ... in not-the-sol dimension ... i would like for them to do a classic sonic character bit and fight before ending up having to team up like cutting their fight short almost to force them to work together and then after the fight itself they realize each others' skills and can stoically nod at each other in respect :)

realistically they're very emotionally detached (mostly, blaze is working on it more than shadow but they both got competitiveness and Fire in em hehe) so i don't think they'd truly end up That close but for the bit i want them to become inexplicably good friends and the joke is everyone's like "when did you become good friends with blaze/shadow" and it's just bc they can both sit in silence drinking their tea/eating their coffee beans. it's just vibes man. weirdly good friends

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

Every multi chapter fic ever, I struggle with them so so much, keeping up steam for longer projects is really hard for me.

🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?

I'm always scared that even if my work gets kudos on ao3 and notes on tumblr, I won't receive any actual feedback in the form of comments, tags, etc.

🌻what makes you want to give up on writing? what makes you keep going?

Genuinely don't think anything would ever make me want to give up writing. I've always loved creating, even as a kid. Any and all reception keeps me going, as well as the anguish filled screams of my friends (and ex-wife) when I tell them exactly how I plan on emotionally torturing their favourite characters

Idk exactly what it was but I still think Warped Mirror is the best thing I've ever written and I would really love to replicate something like it for another character eventually

💫what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?

Honestly, I love all comments that aren't mean! I will admit that the longer comments that really go in-depth about what the reader enjoyed (especially when they notice small things that I hoped readers would catch) are ones that are especially near and dear to my heart, but honestly, even just heart emojis or key smashes are nice. So long as someone isn't commenting just to say they hated my work or that they hate that I included this or that character, I appreciate the feedback. The fact that people not only read, but take the time to let me know they enjoy my work in any fashion . . . that means the world to me!

In recent times, honestly . . . chapter one of Beyond Oblivion. I was scratching and clawing to get it out because I hadn't written anything substantial in like three years, and I still think the quality of it is just . . . so bad. Now that I'm starting to get my groove back, I might go back and polish it up at some point. I did that with the first chapter of A Candle in the Dark, after all. But yeah, it was just really difficult to get anything on the page at all. I'm so tired all the time, and I was so out of practice . . . it's a wonder that anyone liked it at all, though I'm obviously super glad they did. If that chapter hadn't gotten positive feedback, I wouldn't have continued writing it, that's for sure.

🍭why did you start writing?

So, the first stories I ever wrote were because of school assignments. In first grade we had to write a "book," and I chose to write a fanfiction for Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (though I didn't know what fanfiction was at the time, I just considered it a story). In fifth grade we received a similar assignment, and though I wasn't at that school long enough to finish it, I remember I wanted to make a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, although my teacher at the time told me that was plagiarism and not allowed. (I can only assume she was an Anne Rice fan.)

Fast forward a tiny bit: that same year I moved to a new state and a new school, and one of my classmates told me that he had a relative who worked at Nintendo who was looking for new game ideas. I, being ten, believed him, and came up with this idea that was basically The Legend of Zelda but featuring a girl hero. When I finished the concept he was like, "oh the deadline passed" and I was really disappointed for all of ten minutes before I realized . . . I liked coming up with this. I like writing stories. Why don't I just turn my ideas into books??

And I've been writing fiction (sans health-related hiatuses) ever since. :)

I had a toh ask blog. I was gonna have a small plot that i integrated into the asks and whatnot but i lost steam. Went on hiatus and didn't come back : (

Today it was my bed but usually on the couches in my basement. Sitting at a desk is uncomfortable so its gotta be somewhere i can lounge. I had a bench not far from my house with a really nice view but it's winter and there's been construction blocking it off. Hopefully it'll be open this summer!!!!
