adrien is having a hard time figuring out his love problems, and decides to draw up a tournament bracket to organise his thoughts. he thinks the wise thing to do would be to flip coins between everyone in each bracket through to the end stages, and then romantically pursue whoever wins best of three in the final showdown. he puts down some expected names such as kagami, ladybug, and marinette, and some less-likely names in luka, wayhem, and nino, as well as a bunch of other people nobody have never even heard of ("i heard marinette has a cousin named germaine? and i needed to fill that spot, so"). he asks alya to take the minutes of his attempt, and she agrees on the sole condition that if nino makes it to the finals, adrien picks the other person instead. she doesn't want to push the idea of marinette too hard - besides, she already knows that marinette is on the list three times (as ladybug, marinette, and multimouse), so she thinks marinette has a pretty good shot at it. the finals end up being between nino and some other guy alya's never heard of. she's sad for marinette, of course, but she doesn't want to give anything away on marinette's behalf, either. so she squints at the bracket and asks aloud: "who's... marino the waiter?"
