A Problem With Mario Theories And Lore Hunting
So there is a problem many people have when it comes to speculation, lore hunting, and timeline crafting I've come to notice in the Mario community, and it's something I've recently been having to deal with. So something I've noticed is people who have talked about the Donkey Kongs have tried to apply real world Gorilla lifespans and maturity to the Kongs. After doing this they apply it to the lore and or the Mario timeline. They will do things like place all the Party and Kart games at the end of the timeline. Others claim Donkey Kong Junior is was retconned out of existence, or Donkey Kong the Third is actual DK Jr. and Cranky's son instead of grandson. The application of real world gorilla lifespans and maturity is mostly thanks to certain Mario "timeline"/theory. Why does this not work?
First off they are going against the established lore about the 3 DKs, and how Kongs age rapidly. On a side note I've actually made a few posts about the DKs and Kong aging so if you want to know more look for those. Back on track why does this not work? Well before we get to the main point I wanted to mention another previous post of mine to put things into perspective.
In this post I talked about a hypothesis I had come up with in the past, which was that Piranha Plants aren't actually plants but reptiles. From there I talked about why my hypothesis was wrong. I used information obtained from manuals, descriptions, and in game dialogue establishing they are indeed plants.
So what was my mistake? I tried to apply real world logic to this fictional world. Now while some real world logic is a basis for this world such as needing to eat food and breath air to stay alive. This world also runs by it's own rules. So if in the world plants can have skeletons, tongues, have scales, and can hatch from eggs then they can.
The Mario world is basically a high fantasy world, and trying to force real world logic into it does work when it has it's own set of rules the world runs by. Keep in mind this is a world with man eating plants, alongside sentient talking trees and sunflowers, hexapod dragons, still living non-avian dinosaurs, reanimated skeletons, turtles that can remove their shells, straight up magic, clouds you can physically ride on, the ability to enter dreams, zippers on terrain you can unzip, etc. etc. etc. So in the end it doesn't make sense at all to try to force real world gorilla aging to fictional sapient gorillas who have their own language in a high fantasy setting.
Keep in mind this post is only addressing a problem. This by no means lore hunting and speculation is wrong. That should be self evident by the existence of this blog.

My interpretation of the Super Mario Timelines.
Before showing the timelines and explaining some strange decisions, just know Mario does not and never will have a cannon timeline. This I all just for fun. Read timelines from left to right for each row. (Example: Mario Land 2 takes place after Mario Bros 2.)
Tumblr media
Now a few explanations and addendums; * Galaxy 2 is In Universe Fiction because it's Rosalina retelling the events of Galaxy 1 as a bedtime story to her Lumas. * Maker 2 is part of a main timeline due to its story mode.
* Mario Kart DS is the only sports game in the main timeline due to Queen Bee and a lack of Waluigi. * C+B is because that game crosses over two timelines. * The Donkey Kong games take place in Timeline K.

the only game that i have trouble placing on my chart is Super Mario RPG.
it has references to zelda and metroid which makes me think its a subcon game, but it also feels like it belongs in the main timeline.
the existence of the star road and culex make me more inclined to believe its in subcon but vaguely connected to the main timeline. i checked whether theres direct references to it, like characters or events mentioned in games after it and doesnt appear to be the case. it could be anywhere and i think it part of subcon.
people may disagree but just a lot of the references to other series does make me think that.

Patience and responsibility....that's a promise....right?
Part 27 First || Previous || Next
--Full Series--
An exorcism? In my family-friendly Deltarune? It's more likely than you may think. The backgrounds here were very interesting! Much more complex than how I usually do them (especially that computer).

"...Hello? Ma! I told you not to call me today, I'm making a movie!" -Wario, Mario Power Tennis
The most important lesson from Ma that Wario took to heart was the endless pursuit of cold, hard cash. Unfortunately, the one lesson she could never teach him was the importance of hard work to get it.  It wasn't for lack of trying; Wario's Ma is the hardest worker this side of the Mushroom Kingdom.  Raising Baby Wario was a herculean enough task on its own, but ever the enterprising spirit, she had also set out to grow one of the most profitable crops: garlic.
Her backyard business quickly expanded into a veritable garlic empire. Wario's mother toiled away tirelessly each day from sunrise to sunset to grow and harvest as much garlic as she could possibly achieve.  Much of Wario's current strength and endurance can be attributed to helping his mom on the farm as a child, although the teeth-pulling task of getting him to actually work was almost as difficult as preventing him from eating all the garlic straight out of the ground.  Wario's nose for instant gratification has always been a thorn in his mother's side, but try as she might to instill a solid work ethic into the boy, her "get-rich-slow" schemes could never appeal to him.  Still, Wario enjoyed his surprisingly agrarian upbringing. Along with garlic, his mother also raised chickens for eggs, inspiring in Wario a lifelong soft spot for poultry.  (He also had a pet hamster named Fluffy, who sadly passed away in 1986.)
Today, Wario is still on good terms with his mother despite their physical distance, and frequent phone calls keep her updated on all of Wario's business successes.  Of course, being Wario, he heavily embellishes the amount of work he actually does at his company.  If she only knew...

Mario 34 is absolutely the logical midpoint between 4/World and 64, and it is exactly analogous to how the Ambassador-class Enterprise C is the logical midpoint between the Excelsior-class B and the Galaxy-class D, arising not from chronological progression but from being filled in, in retrospect, as the shortest distance between two set points.  i may have just written the nerdiest sentence of my life and i have no regrets

Mario Timeline Part 1
So I've begun to work on my own Mario Timeline which I'm going to be adding to over time, so here's the progress thus far, I hope y'all like it. Be sure to let me know what y'all think down below. Note, if something is absent from this list it's because I haven't heard of it, don't know much about it, or think it's not canon.
Baby Era
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island(Super Mario: Yoshi's Island) After divining a prophecy about twins that would bring disaster to the Koopa Clan, Kamek tries to kidnap the Bros. One falls down to Yoshi's Island and is aided by the Yoshies into reuniting him with his brother, and fighting Kamek and his troops.
Yoshi's New Island Thanks to time travel being introduced by Professor E. Gadd, the past was altered, and Kamek tries his scheme again. The Stork also delivered the Bros. to the wrong house as shown at the beginning of the game. Bowser recognizes Baby Bowser as his past self, while Baby Bowser is passed out so he doesn't see his adult self.
Yoshi's Island DS Thanks to time travel being introduced by E. Gadd, the past ends up being altered. Bowser and Kamek kidnap babies from around the world. The Bros. are already living with their family in the Mushroom Kingdom. Baby Bowser doesn't know who Mario is yet. Bowser recognizes Baby Bowser as his past self, and Baby Bowser is just now meeting and recognizing him as his future self. The Star Child Yoshi is shown hatching at the end of the game, but there is no exact placement. The opening recalls the events of only the first game, so this is probably Bowser's first time actively time traveling.
Mario & Luigi: Partner In Time(Mario & Luigi RPG 2) (Past Sections) This is the first time anyone time travels, and alters the past. Baby Bowser doesn't know Mario's name yet but does recognize him. Baby Bowser doesn't shown any animosity towards the Yoshies quite yet. Baby Bowser and Bowser don't recognize each other as the past and future selves. Kamek only remembers kidnapping the Bros. once. Time Travel altering the past and thus the present is established. Baby Bowser has also slowly begun to lead the Koopa Troop, and occasionally calling Kamek for help.
Game & Watch Gallery 2: Vermin In this game a Yoshi is protecting 6 Yoshi eggs from Paratroopas, Fly Guys, Boos, and Monty Moles.
Yoshi Story 6 eggs hatch in this game, these eggs are probably the same eggs from Vermin. The Green Yoshi could possible be the Star Child Yoshi, and the other Yoshis his friends who were mentioned in Super Mario Bros 4: Super Mario World. Baby Bowser knows Baby Mario's name and dislikes the Yoshies. Baby Bowser seems to be bigger and can now wield magic. They have also begun commanding the Koopa Troop without the aid of Kamek. He also no longer wears a bandana. Since Baby Bowser calls the Yoshis Mario's pet he must have been dragged to the future at one point before this game in order to make that association.
Yoshi's Crafted World(Yoshi Craft World) and Yoshi's Woolly World(Yoshi Wool World) Baby Mario, Luigi, and Peach make up the crafted games while at a kindergarten. The Bros. are still living in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Sports and Kart Games The Babies are pulled into the present for sports and karting events. However, this can happen at any time before this, but not before Partner's in Time.

In your timeline you cite The Thousand Year Door as the first appearance of the modern Peach dress and how this can be used to determine the placement of other games based on whether they feature the classic or modern peach dress.
Mario 64 has Peach is in her classic dress, however in Mario 64 DS she appears in her modern dress. In a recent post you made in response to the question of how SM64 and SM64 DS can be the same event you said how 64 DS replaces the original.
"Super Mario 64 DS is a remake of Super Mario 64 with an identical plot overall plot and much of the same dialogue and events, therefore it replaces the original in the chronology."
So then wouldn't that make Mario 64 the first appearance of Peach's modern dress?
Prior to the release of Super Mario RPG on Nintendo Switch, it was presumed that Princess Peach's model in Super Mario 64 DS was a fluke/mistake and to be ignored due to it seemingly being based on her Mario Kart: Double Dash!! model and that her "classic" dress was still canon, as is the case with the Mario Bros.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice the modern dress and ponytail, which do not match her original appearance in Super Mario 64.
However, since Super Mario RPG's release, it's unfortunately become clear that this is simple a design change and retcon, with Princess Peach's modern dress being the one she's always worn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Mario Timeline has been updated to reflect this, removing references to the dress entirely. Note: While Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on Nintendo Switch does use Princess Peach's "classic" dress, this is simply because all character designs in this title are reused directly from the GameCube release of the game and have not been altered or updated to reflect modern design standards, even for characters who have been redesigned within the Paper Mario series to better reflect their standard appearances.
