I really like these actors playing Napoleon and Josephine
In this part, the caption says “the Incomparable Josephine” because Napoleon really called her that 😊

A poem needs understanding through the senses. The point of diving in a lake is not immediately to swim to the shore but to be in the lake, to luxuriate in the sensation of water. You do not work the lake out, it is a experience beyond thought. Poetry soothes and emboldens the soul to accept a mystery.
Bright Star, Jane Campion (2009)

Farewell, Brother
Mark's final request - that's him in the Barbie-pink bag - was that half his ashes go in his favorite fishing hole (the Detroit River) and that the other half get deposited near his original hunting blind on the 80 acres in northern Michigan we've hunted since 1968.
His kids took care of the river. His daugher assigned the second part to my two surving brothers and me. We did it Thursday, during deer camp, which seemed especially appropriate.
Obviously the ashes-spreading ritual benefits the living, not the dead. Fulfilling a loved one's fnal request is a sacred duty and it feels that way.
As for the bag ... Sorry, Mark, I didn't choose it.

Reviewing Napoleon with Napoleon
I just finished watching this podcast episode of Walk with History with Mark Schneider. I've been waiting to watch it because we all know who Mark is and what he does, so what better person to talk about the latest mess of a movie which was Napoleon 2023 than Napoleon himself. I knew he was going to talk about the issues we've all mentioned in our reviews and hearing his perspective on the movie is so interesting that I had to share it with y'all.
You can tell his frustration when talking about the inaccuracies about the movie that while watching I was like, I feel ya brother, I feel your pain.
