Summary: movie night!

"Are you ready for movie night?" Eddie asked as you hop out of his van in front of his trailer holding your favorite stuffy. You nod as he gives you a bright smile.

When he opens the door you see your other caregivers shuffling around and sitting on the couch.

Argyle and Jonathan are sifting through movies on the floor in front of the tv while Steve and Billy are in the kitchen preparing snacks.

Argyle looks up at you when he notices the door opening.

"My little pony or Care bears?" He asks holding up the two movies, you think for a second before pointing to My little pony.

Argyle sets up the TV while Steve and Billy enter with the snacks.

You're seated between Eddie and Steve with your legs stretched out of the rest of your care givers laps when the movie ends, your head is falling off of Steves shoulder and onto his chest as you fight sleep.

"Hey prince? Is it bedtime? You're looking sleepy" Steve says as the credits roll on screen.

You hum as you hold your stuffie tighter to your chest.

"I think it is, I'll go make u some tea in your sippy ok?" Eddie says getting up from the couch.

Jonathan whines at him as he gets up, apperently having slipped part way through the movie.

"I'll make you some too little bro" Argyle says getting up as well.

Steve slowly shimmies out from behind you and helps Johnathan stand, at the same time Billy scoops you up in his arms.

"Every prince needs a knight to carry him to the pillow palace" Billy says trying to intimidate Eddies way of dramatic story telling. (Also idc if u reading this dont think u can be picked up because this man will do it)

The two care givers lead you and Jonathan into the bedroom and help you get settled in Eddies bed, He set up his room earlier for you to sleep in, fresh sheets and the softest blankets he has with the stuffies you keep at his house for emergencies.

In the corner there's a nightlight and all his mini figures are safely stashed away so you don't accidentally break them. He also set up his stereo with a mixtape of lullabies, some covers done by him. And lastly he went to the library and checked out some childrens picture books.

Eddie and Argyle enter with a sippy cup and bottle respectively, Argyle sets the bottle down on the nightstand and leads Johnathan into the bathroom to help him gat changed and diapered so there's no accidents.

Eddie helps tuck you in and get settled with your sippy cup, he takes your paci and sets it on the nightstand in a sanitized case and hands you your favorite teether.

When Argyle and Johnathan gets back you pick out a story book for Eddie to read. "The prince and the Dragon"(not a real book).

Argyle feeds Johnathan his bottle and then tucks him in while Eddie reads the story. Once you two are cuddled up together and cozy Eddie turns on the nightlight and both the care givers give you a kiss on the forehead.

"Goodnight little ones" they say as they turn the lights off and exit the room.

You were asleep when Mike woke up, sweating and crying. He had just woken up from a nightmare featuring the yellow rabbit, the man who had hurt his little brother and almost his little sister too. He had a bad day before and was ultimately exhausted so his nightmare made him age regress.

“Daddy,” he cried out for you, softly shaking your shoulder, “please wake up.” In his dream, the yellow rabbit had hurt you too and he couldn’t bare it if his dream had become reality. You were too important to him. When you didn’t wake up, Mike began sobbing even more and shaking you even harder. “Please, don’t tell me the bad man hurt you too.”

Fortunately, you had woken up and caught the last half of Mike’s sentence. “Hey hey hey bear, I’m okay. Daddy’s okay.” You reassured him, mumbling with sleep still evident in your voice. You slowly sat up on your elbows and gathered your boy into a hug, running your hands along his back in a repetitive manner to soothe him.

“Do you want to tell me what happened? What bad man?” You asked even if you likely already knew. You had barely known Mike when he worked at Freddy’s but you had heard plenty about the events surrounding William Afton from him, Vanessa, and even Abby.

Mike sniffled, “the yellow rabbit. The one who took Garrett and almost hurt Abby. He had hurt you this time and I couldn’t save you and he laughed and laughed and laughed. And then he came to hurt me and that’s when I woke up.” He started to sob more because of his rambling, this time in your arms.

You lifted a hand up and ran your fingers through his soft hair. “Oh, I’m so sorry, baby boy. That must have been so scary. But I’m okay and so is Abby. She’s right down the hall and I’m right here with you in my arms, safe and sound.” Mike nodded but kept crying, clearly still upset with his dream.

You began to think of ways to further calm him that didn’t involve staying up too much longer. He might not want to sleep again but you know he should, as he’s always tired. “Hey, how about we go warm you up some milk? And then I can borrow a book from Abby and read you a bedtime story? Does that sound okay?” Mike blanched at the thought of sleeping again but nodded anyway.

“That’s my good boy.” You pressed a kiss to his forehead and detached yourself from him, quickly getting up and rushing over to his side of the bed. You helped him up and held his hand as you walked to the kitchen together. You knew he was regressed to his usual age of about 10 but the fact that he didn’t reject your hand holding meant he was still pretty scared.

You arrived at the kitchen with your boy in tow, grabbing a pot and the gallon of milk in the fridge. You poured out some milk into the pot and turned the stove on before putting the milk back in its place. You grabbed a plastic spoon to stir and began to hum softly, squeezing Mike’s hand as you did.

Soon enough, the milk was warm enough (as per your taste tester’s word) and you still held hands on the way back to his room. He sipped his milk and sat on the bed. You ran your fingers through his hair once again and then made your way to Abby’s room. You were plenty quiet as you grabbed a book you knew Mike liked.

Back in his room, Mike had laid back down and put his glass on the bedside table, his eyes already starting to close. But he fought it, wanting to hear you telling him a bedtime story. And so you began telling it, making sure to do all the voices you know he loved to hear. He giggled at the appropriate times, still sniffling a bit as he drank some more milk.

Within a few minutes, you had finished the story and looked up to see the glass empty and your boy soundly asleep. You smiled fondly and shut the book softly. Putting it next to the glass, you got back into bed with Mike. You moved him slightly so you could spoon him, hoping to protect him from any more nightmares. And with that, you fell back asleep as well.

Another rough day in New York City. It wasn’t really the City’s fault, nor was it my own. It just felt like life was getting harder and harder.

I’ve been working longer more exhausting shift at my job. Adding onto a long subway ride and long walk home to Hell’s Kitchen.

Sometimes Matt would be home but working on his next court case. So it would result in having a late dinner, small conversations here and there, then watching tv by myself while he went out to his second job.

Sometimes I would get home so late that Matt would already be out at his second job. I would just walk into an empty house with no one to talk to.

I can’t even remember the last time I regressed but did I need to now more than ever today. Everyone at my job was talking about their elaborate Valentine’s Day plans and what they think their spouse or partner was getting them.

With how busy things have been…I don’t know if Matt even remembers. I don’t blame him of course, he has two busy jobs! One saving lives in a court room and the other saving lives in Hell’s Kitchen. I just wish he could save me from my life.

Ding, ding. The subway arrived at my station in Hell’s Kitchen. I quickly get off and start the trek to mine and Matt’s house. The air is still chilly despite the ground hog saying spring was just around the corner.

I made my way up the stairs of my house and unlocked the door. I just wished and wished that maybe I wasn’t too late, maybe he was home and I could actually talk to him before he rushed out to be Daredevil. Maybe I would be able to tell him about my horrible day.

But my hopes were crushed when I returned to an empty house. Tears brimmed my eyes but there was no one to cry to, no one to be upset at except for the walls of the house.

I threw my stuff down by the door and just stormed off to our bedroom. I could feel myself getting upset by the second and in turn regressing without realizing it.

I grabbed my pillow, grabbed my blanket, then finally my little family of stuffies and threw it all onto the couch. I didn’t feel like sleeping but I also didn’t feel like being totally awake either, so it was a movie night with the stuffies on the couch type of night.

I quickly changed and grabbed my sippy cup from the kitchen before plopping down on the couch for the night.

I kept switching from show to show, trying to find one that helped me to relax. Stupid Valentine’s Day making me feel horrible!

Eventually when the clock hit somewhere between 2am and 3, I fell asleep while watching Blues Clues. Hoping that maybe when I woke up, Matt would be there to say good morning too.

I woke up to the smell of something amazing! Was someone cooking? I slowly opened my eyes and realized I was still on the couch. But then I was met with a smile and..a balloon!?!

Matt looked over the couch and smiled seeing me awake. He grabbed the heart shaped balloon and brought it over to where I was sleeping.

“Good morning my Valentine! Happy Valentine’s Day Y/N!”

I just stared at him, both in shock and because…well…I just woke up…so I’m like half asleep here.

“You remembered?”

“I never forgot,” he smiled back.

He rounded the couch and took a seat next to me as I sat up. He handed me the red balloon as he began to talk. “Y/N, I know I haven’t been here as much as I’ve wanted to be for you, and I want to apologize for that.”

“It’s-.” I began to say before getting cut off.

“It’s not okay. I know you don’t want to hurt my feelings but it’s not okay that you’ve been alone as much as you have been. Coming home last night to you sleeping on the couch regressed and alone finally woke it up to me that there is something wrong in our lives. Between my two jobs I haven’t been home as much when you come home and I’m sorry for that. I’m especially sorry I haven’t been here a lot for Little you.”

“But that all changes after today. I’m making sure I’m home and by your side ever night. Especially if a certain someone comes home and is feeling a bit younger,” he added poking my stomach and making me giggle.

“Sound good munchkin?” He asked. I couldn’t believe my ears.

“No more Uncle Foggy keeping you at the office?” I asked.

Matt smiled and shook his head, “No more. If he want to keep talking to me about another case he can come home and join me. But I’m sure the moment he sees little old you, he’s going to have a change of heart.”

“No more Daredevil?” I asked worried. As much as I worried about him at night, I knew Hell’s Kitchen still needed him.

“Not as often anymore. And especially not if you regress. At the end of the day you’re my first priority. Then the city.” He explained.

I took in all the information then nodded, “Sounds good.” I smiled.

“Now,” Matt clapped, “I have a big day planned for us. I overheard someone talking about a Daddy-Daughter or a Mommy-Son day for Valentine’s Day and it got me thinking. What about a Caregiver-Little Day for our Valentine’s Day?”

I gasped and smiled, “That would be amazing!”

“I’ve got our whole day planned for us, nothing too spectacular or fancy but a fun day nonetheless!”

“Dadee?”

“Yes?”

“What’s burning in the kitchen?”

“Shit!”

Matt jumped up from the couch and ran over to the stove. I jumped up and followed and there, burning on top of it was an attempt at a pancake.

“I was going to make you breakfast in bed.” Matt chuckled. I laughed too.

“We both know Claire is the best cook out of all of us.”

“Karen too, I just hate to admit it.” Matt joked.

“Want some fruits instead?” He asked as he threw out the burnt pancake.

“Yes please!”

And so that’s how our morning started. Matt and I sat on the couch enjoy our non-burnt breakfast, a nice fruit salad.

Then came the first surprise. Matt went to the bedroom and grabbed a red gift bag with another balloon attached to it. I started laughing and Matt immediately smiled hearing my giggles.

“You haven’t even seen what’s inside the bag and you’re already laughing?”

“Dadee…the balloon has writing on it.”

Matt sighed as he sat down beside me once more. He couldn’t help but smile as he turned his head towards me, “What does it say?”

“It says happy 50th anniversary.” I giggled.

All at once the two of us started laughing like crazy together. It was such an honest mistake, after all how would Matt know, but a mistake that just made everything even more funny. Plus it wasn’t the first time he’s made that mistake. Last year for my birthday it was get well soon.

After the two of us caught our breaths from the laughter, he handed me the tiny gift bag. “Here, it’s just a little something to start our day off with.”

Before I ripped the tissue paper away, I paused and looked back up at Matt, “But I didn’t get you anything.” I said disappointed.

“That’s okay, you didn’t know I was going to surprise you.” He explained but I wasn’t so satisfied. Maybe I could find something on our adventures today.

After much delay I ripped the tissue paper away and pulled out the gift. It was a beautiful and soft blanket! But not the normal type of blanket…this is a picnic blanket!

“It’s a picnic blanket!” I smiled as all the possibilities of what we could do ran through my head.

“So what do you think that means for us today?” Matt smirked.

I gasped and smiled back, “WE’RE GOING ON A PICNIC?!”

“That’s right munchkin, we’re going to have a picnic today.”

I couldn’t help but lean over and hug him. All the stresses and all the dread of the day before washing away with this amazing day that has really just begun.

We both got changed out of our pjs and then spent the rest of the morning getting our picnic supplies together. After all, you can’t really burn a sandwich…or can you?

Well with our picnic supplies, new blanket, and basket full of food, we departed our house and made our way to our favorite park.

Once Matt locked the door, he turned to me and held my hand in his, “I need my little navigator to help us get to the park.”

The compliment always brought a blush to my face. I always loved walking with him through the city. I always told him what was happening around us and the crazy sights I was sadly witnessing.

But eventually we made it to the park! Matt helped lay the picnic blanket and I started to help set out our little lunch together. Then the two of us relaxed.

Matt draped one arm around me and I leaned into his side. The air was so calm with a little breeze here and there. It wasn’t sunny, a bit overcast. But I loved the overcast weather, it wasn’t as harsh on the eyes like a sunny day was. Everything was just right.

After eating our sandwiches we started to eat a little treat Matt bought for our day as well, a small box of candies. “No more than two.” He said sternly, but he didn’t have any heat behind it.

With our sandwiches and some candies eaten, the two of us relaxed on our blanket and just felt as the breeze swept over us occasionally.

I loved to watch the clouds go by. So as each one rolled by I would tell Matt what I thought each one looked like.

“This one…looks like an elephant fishing!”

“An elephant fishing? Why would they be fishing?”

“I don’t know. Maybe it’s their hobby.” I giggled.

“This onnnneeeeeee looks like a…a…banana with a sun hat!” I explained.

“What? What kind of sky are you looking at?” He laughed as well.

“Oh! Oh! This next one looks like-.” It looked like a flower wearing a dress. But the dress didn’t matter. What mattered was I had a brilliant idea.

“Wait here, I’ll be right back!” I jumped up.

“Don’t go too far okay?” Matt said before I took off. I ran around the sides of the park picking flowers that had already fallen. (I wouldn’t pick and kill them!)

With my tiny collection I returned to Matt. I sat beside him and took his hand in mine. “Ta-da! Happy Valentine’s Day Dadee! It’s a bouquet of flowers! I’ll describe each one for you.”

He lead his hand and had him feel each of the flowers I grabbed. Telling him how tall I thought they were and what color the flower was. All with Matt having the biggest smile on his face.

“They all sound beautiful. But it’s the thought that means the most to me. Thank you so much Y/N. I love them.” Matt pulled me into a nice tight hug. I rest my head against his shoulder and sighed happily.

Once we broke apart we just laid together, hand in hand on our picnic blanket. I rest my head against his chest and he rested his head on top of mine. The two of us just took comfort in being with the other.

“Maybe we should bring Aunt Karen and Uncle Foggy to this park? What do you think?” Matt suggested.

“No we gotta bring them to the park on Riverside!”

“Why’s that?”

“Because I wanna show Uncle Foggy the big slide there!”

“You think he’d go down it?”

“What do you think?” I laughed.

“Yeah, you’re probably right.” Matt laughed as well.

I think nicknames can be very different depending on what nicknames you like, since it can go from traditional to unique ones !

- something you or they like (pear, apple, pudding, sky, etc)

- adult animal names (like how kids are called lamb, pup, cub, kitty, etc)
