What is she talking about? 👻☔

She has a point, but that's not how relationships work.

How funny would it be if Shinigami could control Yuma's body from time to time? Could she possess his body completely and act in his place? Of course this would never actually happen, but what if? She can know his thoughts, imagine other things.

It would probably be one of the few physical ways she could have to touch things in the human world, it would be a bit complex to say if she would feel things while she was in control, I really love this dynamic of a physical character with their stupid ghost friend who can possess them. XD

Imagine the situation where Yuma starts talking in a strange way, that you know he would never act that way, it would be Shinigami pretending to be him, I think it could generate funny scenes where the other characters would find Yuma's behavior strange, and probably only two would know that he is possessed, probably Vivia and Makoto.

After Yuma regained control, he would want to disappear from the world out of shame, but she respects him and likes him, Shinigami probably wouldn't do that anymore...

If she really likes him, she would clearly respect if he likes someone else or wants to be single, (him being married to his job joke), like, she was jealous of Kurumi with Yuma, but she started to accept more and make jokes about them together?

It would be funny if he had to wait for her approval to know who he can be with or not, since she can't be with him the way she wants. At first she may be a bit controlling of his personal life, but later on could she give him more freedom? It really depends on who you ship Yuma with, I'm a multishipper, so it's hard to choose one. XD

Speaking of freedom, she deserves to be free too. Thinking for herself, living for herself and not being a servant anymore, will we have that? The fact that she doesn't know how relationships work and thinks about them in the wrong way is funny. Her jealousy may not be due to romance, but rather because others are free and she is not.

Either way, he certainly still cares about her as a good ally and friend, she is one of the people he loves, wants to keep her close, even after the game.

I think by the time Oct 1st rolls around Rain Code will get more popular due to having to more ports to play on in the west

The magic 8 ball says 'most likely'! The official English release of the PC n console ports should help give Rain Code the boost it needs. Not everyone has Switches, and certainly not everyone who owns a Switch wants to also buy an expensive capture card to record and/or stream the game on a PC/laptop. The greater the accessibility, the further the word spreads. Here's to another grand spooky month this year.

Unnamed Ghost Hunter Agency AU

Based on Lockwood & Co (Spoilers for some plot elements)

Fifty years ago, the world became infested by ghosts and demons that would haunt the entire world and bring harm and even death to the living, leaving everyone trapped in fears. At the same time, a small percentage of people were granted paranormal power of the spirits and psychic, allowing them to interact with the ghosts and send them back to the spirit realm. An organization is formed called the World Ghost Hunter Organization (not creative I know) to train people with even the simplest psychic power in seeing the spirit realm into Ghost Hunters and defeat the ghosts and hopefully one day free the world from the spirits.

In the present day, a young man named Yuma Kokohead, a former Ghost Hunter from the WGHO, is heading into Kanai Ward, one of the most haunted cities, if not areas, in the world, to the point it had to be isolated from the rest of the world. But there are rumors that because of having to rely on themselves, the city’s population, especially Amaterasu Corporation, developed and discovered ways to handle the ghosts. Eventually becoming a source of resources for the world to handle ghosts. Yuma is traveling over to the city in the hope he could find a way to heal his twin brother from a ghost-lock. But he needs to be able to sustain himself while staying in the city, and unfortunately can’t get a job because he is an outsider to the city. Luckily, he finds one through an independent ghost hunting agency called the Nocturnal Ghost Hunting Agency, run by Chief Yakou and misfit members of the WGHO, and now must bring back his ghost hunting skills to help protect Kanai Ward from the ghosts while finding a way to save Makoto (and uncover the dark secrets of Kanai Ward along the way).

Imagine being a ghost where most people can't see you

I think this is the basic thing that happens in most cases? Mainly in Ghost AUs. The ghost communicates by voice, writing somewhere, or possessing something or someone.

Mystery Phantom Makoto! I miss drawing him, I need to draw him more often. This outfit he wears is really good, I had already commented about this outfit being like his battle outfit in a fighting game, but I like to imagine that he could be a "ghost" version of Makoto. But probably the other Makotos can't see him normally, perhaps some like Lab Makoto could see this version, originally, Lab Makoto from Failed Experiment AU was supposed to be a ghost version that haunts Yuma, but I ended up letting him be a physical experiment.

The basic thing would be that some people can't see and touch him, but I think people like his wifey can touch and see, since there is a soul connection between the two? Vivia can hear, Shinigami can hear, see, touch, and Yuma can hear and see if he has absorbed any specific power for that. Now the other Makotos and other people could only hear a distant voice, feel a presence, and see messages around written by him.

I still don't know a good lore of how he would become a ghost, so it's up to your theories.
