I feel like I’m going crazy. How do so many people actually enjoy the fnaf movie? I’ve been a fan since the start. I grew up watching Markiplier and MattPat since I was 10. I recently watched Wendigoon’s fnaf theory video. I was there when the movie rumors came out in 2016 or whenever.

I did not like the movie. The plot was was just so confusing at some points. Other points it was completely ridiculous. The writing was so bad at some points. This was not a horror movie like advertised.

Yes, there were a ton of references, but that doesn’t make it a good movie. I did have fun in theaters being goofy with my friend and being like “was that the bite of ‘87’?!” But that does not make up the bad.

All I’ve been seeing is praise for this movie and I feel actually crazy. THERE WAS A PILLOW FORT MONTAGE!?!? It felt so out of place from the fnaf universe. During that part I even told my friend it felt like those old fnaf adoption fanfics. I get that the animatronics are still kids…but I just felt like Scott spit in my face.

I get that the movie wasn’t going to be solely based off the games…but I thought there was going to be based off the lore in SOME aspects!! And with a second movie? How’s it going to continue? Mike isn’t Afton’s son, so there can’t be a revenge plot line. For some reason Venessa was there and she felt so out of place.

The movie seriously felt like it was just made to make references. Any plot we knew from the games or hell, even from the books was just thrown away.

I just feel so crushed. I loved fnaf, even if I never thought it was a good game. Even if I knew Scott didn’t even know his own plot for the games. It was special to me anyways. But this movie is just…it ruined it for me.

Ok, I know I'm the person who kinda started the whole "matpat oh no" thing but ya'll are being waaay to harsh on him.

Most of his fanbase is comprised of kids who like horror because it's "edgy and cool". Welcome home's horror is so buried and subtle that most of the fans that will flock over here will probably get bored quickly and go away.

Second, matpat has NOT broken clown's boundaries AT ALL. Clown didn't say people couldn't make videos. Clown didn't say that people couldn't still check out the website.

And matpat JUST GOT HERE. He got a bunch of suggestions by others to check it out. He doesn't know about the discourse or drama and honestly how could you expect him to? Not everyone uses social media like us.

YES matpat had some weird ass takes and basically skimmed through the character bios. But keep in mind he's only going by what the website says, not outside trivia or comments by clown. (Also remember this isn't the first time he made a bs theory on gtlive. *cough cough mandela catelog*) That guy is CLEARLY out there and the Website just started, so he doesn't have much to go off on.
