GOD I FUCKING HATE AI. im so sick and tired of ai garbage popping up everywhere. disrespectfully, get that shit OUT OF MY FUCKING FACE. do not show up, on my goddamn screen, in my house, GET OUT. im sick of my loved ones getting baited by ai generated nonsense and im sick of getting my sites flooded by it.
ai does not make the arts 'more accessible'. the whole POINT of art is that you put time, effort and LOVE into it. there is no love in a machine. its disgusting and such a disrespect to everyone who has ever invested themselves in their craft. hundreds and thousands and thousands of years of people making art, drawing, writing, making music, dancing. idk about ai dancing but all of the others especially.
and i fucking hate the argument 'oh but im not as good as the ai!1!!1!!" im not the greatest artist ever. im not a master of my crafts, and THATS OKAY. im a young writer and musician, ive spent most of my life writing, ive been writing since i knew how. ive been playing my instrument for almost as long as i can remember, and i still suck! and its okay!!! but ive spent so much of my time, years and years of practice, into my arts. im better than i was when i started, every year i look back on my works and i can feel proud of my progress. my fanfiction has improved so much since my warrior cat days, and i imagine so many of the wattpad writers back in 2014 can feel the same. everyone sucks in the beginning, and its fine! it means we're growing and improving.
but making ai art and generating ai fanfiction and making fucking ai songs (never in my life would i have thought)? thats disgusting. not only is it detrimental to the environment, but youre STEALING other peoples work for a robot to rip it to shreds and mishmash it together. and so often these ai fanfictions are taken from actual fanfiction, that people write for FREE out of the love they have for the media or community. ive written fanfiction since before i knew what it was, because i loved the book series i was reading so much, i wanted to make my own stories and use the world and express my absolute adoration for the original series in my creative, 6 or 7 year old way. i wrote it on scrap paper in pencil and doodled my characters in crayon and then went off to practice my instrument for an hour. no shit i was ass at all three of those things, but over time, ive improved. and you will too, if you put just a little bit of time and effort every day/as often as you can.
anyways, before i went off on a tangent, (sorry) but SO many fanfiction writers are so, so incredibly talented. i know dozens of amazing fic writers and im even lucky enough to get to know a couple personally. fanfiction and fanart is about community, and to steal somebodys work for- for what purpose?? because youre too lazy to make your own? fuck, nobody cares! draw like shit! write like shit! post it online, maybe get some hate, improve or give up, but either way, you HAVE to learn the appreciation for the people who are amazing at what they do! i have friends who are brilliant artists, and i cant draw myself, so watching them is like watching magic. watching them furrow their brow while trying to decide between two shades of blue that i cant tell the difference between, watching them draw effortlessly smooth lines, why would you want a robot to do that? the beauty of it is the love put in, and the insane amount of effort put into making them this good. five years ago, i thought my best friend was an amazing artist. time has passed, shes improved infinitely, and i feel so incredibly proud of her because i know that shes spent so much of the last five years doing art to get better. and i know that in five years she'll be even better! art is a journey of hard work progress and ai simply can never replicate that. to make any kind of ai 'art' is to disrespect the people that worked so fucking hard to get here. you cant take shortcuts on this, you can work hard and youll improve faster, but theres no ladder to the top! you can make as many ai images and ai textwalls as you want, but it doesnt make you an artist.
"oh but i want the results/make content for my ocs/fav characters/WHATEVER now without having to put years into it!" yeah, we all do, youre not fucking special. but effort is the human existence, so shut the fuck up and either learn to do it, pay someone to do it (AND APPRECIATE THEM.), or suffer with ideas in your head and no way to express them like god intended. if you want fanfiction, get on ao3 goddamnit. its free.
maybe youre older than twelve years old, and your writing isnt good, your drawing isnt good, your music isnt good. who fucking cares? cringe is dead. do art. its never too late to start, and i think i speak for everybody when i say we'd much rather have 'bad' new artists and writers than have a single more piece of ai slop.
(sorry for this long ass rant/vent where i basically repeat myself a dozen times, love you all and never stop doing art)

Uber here’s your code right here:
// if the time is passed 10pm military time, the current location is a bar, and the interaction time is longer than 5 mins, the following if statement executes.
if (current_time > 22 && location == bar && user_interaction_time > 5.00) {
passenger_drunk = true;
}
There you go that’s it that’s your AI right there that’s literally all it takes, who knew AI was this hard
That’s not AI.
#idk why this made me usually salty#maybe because im reading machine learning AI books#and that thats a very stupid thing to call an AI#literally through this is java and declare your variables and thisll work#technically this code will also work in C++#this code can work across several different langauges because if statements are basically universal

Some language resources
https://beta.openai.com/playground/p/default-chat you can type in your target language, and it will generate text based on it. I just chatted with the ai for a while! It's good writing/reading practice and prompts!
https://jzohrab.github.io/bidiread/ bidiread can make parallel texts for you. Just input your target language text, and input a translation (I usually just use deepl.com to make a machine translation of the text so the sentence numbers are equal, different sentence number will mess up bidireader formatting). I did this with Silent Reading by priest and it worked well.
https://bearlang.app/text/ just paste in target language text, and it will generate sentence by sentence translations. You can then read in the site or export as html. I am very intrigued by this site because: it seems to have credits for translations but hasn't prompted me to pay yet (so I plan to just use it until I get a request to pay if ever), the translation for chinese is actually incredibly good (better than Google translate or deepl so I'm wondering what machine translator is being used), I'm not sure if it's still someone's project in development and maybe that's why it's so useful but incomplete at the moment (as in its sentence translations are great but it has no actual click word definitions like it says it does), I'm wondering if the project was abandoned (as I found it linked on Reddit but now on a Reddit search see no mention of it or links to it anywhere). In short, it's a phenomenal sentence by sentence parallel text generator. I'm just extremely curious as to what it's current situation is.
https://ichi.moe/ a great japanese translator I've found
https://github.com/IvanovCosmin/awesome-natural-approach a collection of a bunch of comprehensible input study resources, including many great ones I've mentioned before
https://drdru.github.io/stories/intro.html an amazing resource, comprehensible input japanese in the form of lessons you can start from a beginner! It reminds me of the nature method books like Learn English by The Nature Method and Lingua Latina. It only requires knowledge of katakana and hiragana sounds. Then it starts with katakana words so English speakers can guess them, and very simple grammar and adjectives and nouns and verbs with emoji pictures for everything, so that you can learn from context. It's a super cool project, and im always surprised it's very rarely mentioned

also !!! i saw ur post on AI n like. it rlly resonated w me & the whole thing looked so cool !!!!! so do u have any like,,, AI related content to rec,,,, or maybe just. tell me stuff about it if u want bc !! very up to some cool facts infodumping because i've never heard a Lot abt it & yeah !!!! hope this makes sense jdfhjdghdjdhsg
im so glad it resonated i agree it’s very cool !! i’m not really sure what you mean by AI-related content though ;^; as in acedmic things ? or media ? if it’s academic things: i don’t have that many Specific TM things to recommend - the way i got into AI was i just stayed behind in my computer science class at school in the corner of the room reading about machine learning from random papers on google scholar at 5pm while trying to figure out the maths asjdhg i’d recommend doing a few MOOCs, looking at MIT+harvard’s free resources for CS, and reading papers that interest you !!
if it’s media, the movie TAU really hit the point of AI being like very clever children home, almost all of isaac asimov’s books, spare and found parts, sea of rust, altered carbon is a series w a very endearing AI person modelled after edgar allan poe, scythe (by neal shusterman) !
there’s a lot more but i’m not quite sure what you mean by AI-related content so if you tell me i can message you and tell you more abt it !!! you seem rly sweet id love to talk to you ! <3

had a real fun au-ish idea i can't quite employ in the fic, but still like to poke chip with.
the override was a program with its own machine learning, and pretty quickly began studying things while it was active. Very quickly after that, he was his own guy - he still struggles to read lots of words, like big blocks of text - but he's getting better at it!
He doesn't actually like fighting toons but he's scared that they'll hurt chip if he doesn't pretend to be a mindless program - but it makes him sad to hear how chip talks about him. He just wants to help.
Anyways he discovers his own hobbies and surprisingly enjoys stationery and crafts (he likes origami and also scrapbooking! chip once "woke up" from a weird nap covered in glue and paper scraps with this big book of magazine cut outs in front of him. Override also once got him covered in paint. oopsie.)
and he has... mixed feelings for C.O.G.S inc because "im alive and i owe it to you but i wish i could have been alive on MY TERMS. I WISH MY EXISTENCE DIDN'T DEPEND ON SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW I EXIST."
he's also discovered some of chip's own hidden interests, like cooking shows and DIY projects and so it's a bit of a learning curve for chip to realize there's effectively two processors running in his head, but they work it out. takes a lot of therapy and a lot of nights watching cooking shows and getting override to at least TRY hi-grade to get used to it all. (And to get over hating Robert about it)
oh so the override is essentially an ai in this au?
from what i've gathered, the purpose chip's override serves is as a protector for his body and to effectively do the job he was assigned to (must stay on the cutting edge). it is also, perhaps, by extension, supposed to be programmed in a way that it's loyal to the company above all else but since the override isn't fully functional it's why chip gets a little too fire-happy when it's active.
it'd be interesting if the override went from being a soulless machine who exists as a tool to follow orders, to it's own individual by living through through chip's perspective and learning world around it through the nature of being ai. we can even say this idea is possible due to the fact that it was only partially successfully installed-- the success is that yes, it does what it's programmed to do and will trigger when chip's in danger or angry but.. it is also sentient and can maybe overpower it over time.
i wish these two the best of luck in therapy. they're going to need it
