my partner wanted a goth noodle -> my partner got a goth noodle.

the spine is from here. i think it was one of the first test prints we did after getting a 3d printer, and has been floating around my project boxes ever since to be used for something. happened to be the perfect size to work for this noodle, without sacrificing a lot of flexibility since it's an articulated fidget toy. some of the ribs have cracked over time, but i don't really mind.

i had just enough quilt batting to finish this project, and i think i'll chill a little while before buying more. making wire&fur dolls is fun, but i'll take a second to enjoy the luxury of not having bits of hair and feathers everywhere.

So. Because Nick’s obstinately refusing to acknowledge even a hint of supernatural phenomena while actively galavanting through the seventh ring of hell. I’m sorta wondering about the whole Lorenzo dunwich horror bit. Actually hang onto that. Like I get the ‘telekinesis raiders’ denial. Totally could’ve been the wind.

But there was going to be a Moby-dick + squid situation in the game files for fo4… the history of talking deathclaws… Goris would’ve been great company…

now there's an idea! i think nick would acquiesce and accept whatever obviously supernatural thing was happening only if 1) he could see it directly and 2) couldn't think of some other, more 'plausible' explanation. he's a very good logical thinker in that he can parse conclusions from evidence, it's why he's a good detective, and he's prone to injecting it into situations where it may not even really apply. i think if he met the talking deathclaw he'd accept the talking deathclaw, but only then. ditto any other preternatural happenings

i think there's something really funny about the idea of a guy getting his memories, personality and outlook transplanted into a robot 100 years in the future and this causing huge grief, but absolutely taking no steps further in credulity. he doesn't buy DiMA is his brother out the gate despite the fact they're identical twins and DiMA knowing a huge amount about him. in dww, gloria is the one who immediately believes, and even then nick demands something that is almost impossible (providing evidence of something that happened a century ago, a state away). x files poster that says 'i don't want to believe' with nick looking confused as all shit in a random field

EDIT: my headcanon with the dunwich stuff is that whatever process happened to put a man's brain in there made him, through complete coincidence, totally immune to eldritch/outside of reality brain bullshit, again because that's really funny. people around him are bleeding out the eyes and spewing out thirty tongues and he's there with his hands on his hips, pants too high, like well i think we all ought to simmer down. get some water.
