regarding Dteam mcc:

Something I will never get tired of watching was that one mcc where Dream, Sapnap and Quackity where teamed, especially the survival games. It‘s just so noticeable that sapnap and Dream are used to playing with each other and combined with quackity it’s so much fun!

it's genuinely one of my favorite mcc's I think I've watched and it's just so special to me like Sapnap becomes the only person to 4k in season 2 just so he can outplace Punz from their bet, Dreamnap have the best communication I've seen from either of them in SG and Quackity does incredibly well despite his technical difficulties in SOT, they have the funniest fucking bit in HITW, and of course in classic Dreamnap fashion they clean sweep the other team in dodgebolt like you really can't get much better than that

guys i think survival games needs to get removed. it hasnt been played for four canon events in a row, and its been skipped 6 times out of the last 7 canon events. clearly no one likes the game. why isnt noxcrew listening.

MCC Kick Off Aqua Axolotls Skins!

What's this? Not 24 hours before the event?

If this is the first post you’re seeing of mine, hi! I have made a lot of CaptainSparklez’ team’s skins, ever since MCC14 (links: MCC15, MCC16, MCC17, MCC18, MCC19, MCC21, MCC22, MCC23, MCC24, MCC25, MCC28, MCC30, MCC31, MCC32, MCC33, MCC34, MCC Party, MCC35). On occasion I’ve also made skins for other teams, such as the Red Rabbits of MCC Rising. Feel free to share this, just tag this post so that it links back to me. Thank you! Ok, more below the cut.

Yeah so I'm back to not really shading. I forgot my previous method of shading until just now. I'll have to try it again next time because I'm certainly not going back to fix it now.

MCC Kickoff is on May the 4th so of course I had to do Star Wars themed skins. They're force ghosts! I thought it worked well with the whole aqua thing. But I do realize it's a pretty radical coloring so I did make alternate skins which are not blue.

Personally I prefer the force ghosts though. Oh and yes, I did still include an axalotl on the back. Admittedly this is probably one of those times where I shouldn't have but it's a trademark. Have to be consistent.

Okay, onto individual breakdowns.

Starting with PeteZahHutt. Originally I was only going to make PeteZahHutt a jedi. But I liked it so much I ended up doing it for the entire team. PeteZahHutt's jedi outfit is most based off of Obi Wan's outfit.

Next up, fWhip. fWhip has short boots and a longer coat. fWhip also lacks the tabbard (I think that's what it's called?) that PeteZahHutt has. Also, the collar is more symmetrical. Fun fact, it was while working on this skin that I decided to make them force ghosts.

Mythicalsausage has armor. Originally the chestplate was actually longer but it didn't really look right without a belt. So I made it shorter and added a belt. The wrist gauntlets are also a bit of a stealth reference to the fact that Mythicalsausage often has a pipboy on his regular skins. I tried it without the symmetry but it didn't look as good.

And finally, CaptainSparklez, who gets a vest overcoat thing. I would say it's probably closest to Anakin's outfit? CaptainSparklez and Mythicalsausage have lighter cloaks than fWhip and PeteZahHutt. Oh and CaptainSparklez has a shorter cloaks.

Still not over how funny Fruit’s Survival Games track record is this season. He gets hunted down immediately in MCC14, kills himself with a lava bucket in MCC15, then goes on to win the next 5 Survival Games in a row.

His S2 team scores are literally 10th, 10th, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st.

like i get why i don’t like mcc15 as much as i should dream literally got 28th in ace race for it (i just went to check) which is so fucked up to me knowing that he’s gotten first in that map twice since then and literally set the record for both the regular space map and the flipped space map

I think something that’s really important to note about funneling is that Dream didn’t even come up with it 😭 I started but didn’t finish a shot-by-shot database of all the dodgebolts, and I can vouch it was a technique invented by Techno and used in MCC7 against the Green Guardians, before Dream EVER made it to dodgebolt. Yeah people didn’t like it, but I know for a fact that there’s only that much grief because Dream realized its utility and perfected it with his teams. Plus, it’s not like Dream was some evil monster who forced his teams to funnel, if you look back at MCC13, Dream is fully ready to use Scott’s strat because he didn’t agree to funneling. First and foremost, he’s cognizant of his team and wants THEM to have fun too! And like one of the anons said, other teams have tried funneling before re:MCC14 blue, but the important part of funneling is also knowing when to back off. It’s less funneling the ‘best player’ and moreso ‘feeding the hot hand’, something we saw in practice in MCC8 with Burren and MCC15 with Sapnap. At the end of the day the argument against funneling is stupid because the entire technique rests on the fact that if it comes down to it, everyone on the team trusts everyone else on the team to hit the shots if they need to. If the top shooter gets picked off, then there’s an unsaid trust towards the next in line to do what they need to do!

Also regarding the buildmart arguments I think people have also slowly come to hate the game—it’s incredibly stagnant with very little change since its introduction other than the method of collecting materials. He’s already suggested game changes and as someone who was on the mcc subreddit since MCC8, there’s been a lot of good community suggestions too! Also the buildmart rants have not been perceptibly unsportsmanlike for a LONG time. I’ll give people that he was annoying in the beginning sometimes, but season 2 introduced a way more mellow and team-oriented Dream, one who was arguably one of the best leaders of the S-tiers. Whenever he rants now he makes sure to follow it up with solutions that make sense, and it’s never malicious the way some people twist it to be. It just sucks sometimes bc he has genuinely good ideas :(
