More Wanda / Scarlet Witch progress! Wanda's Sokovian Lullaby True Translation

The song, titled “Sokovian Lullaby” — which was translated into the made-up language of Sokovian by WandaVision’s language coach, Courtney Young — went through a few drafts before settling on these final lyrics:

Someone posted a Twitter snap on instagram about how MCUwanda and Wednesday would get along. I'm proud to say people in the comments had sense, because honey they wouldn't even be friends in the comics where she's more likable. Tell me you don't actually care about characters past their face value without telling me.

MCU Doctor strange is Mephisto

No, stop scrolling and let me explain.

In the in the 4 issue comic arc One More Day Spider man is forced to make a deal with Mephisto to save a dead aunt may. But in turn he must give up his marriage with Mary Jane Watson. This comic was made in an attempt by Marvel to age down Peter have him better relate to teen readers but that's beyond the point. He does make this deal and his marriage is taken away as well as all memory of it.

And in Spider Man: No Way Home (Spoilers) Peter Parker makes a deal with doctor strange to rewrite a wrong but he must give up his relationship with Michelle Jones Watson (his universe's Mary Jane). This is contrast was a move to grow Peter up, but was largely made so the fans could grow up with him.

Now let's take a look at Wanda (aka the scarlet witch) or more specifically, her kids. Billy and Tommy, made by Wanda in a fit of grief and taken away from her just a suddenly. In the MCU it's because she decided to dissolve the Westview Hex but in the comics it's because she takes a bit of Mephisto's (aka Marvel's approximation of the devil) soul. And in the post credits scene at the end of WandaVision, we see her astral projecting to read the Darkold (aka a very powerful and dark magic book, stolen from Agatha Harkness by Wanda) before hearing her children cry out for her.

And in the Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness trailers, we see what some people have dubbed "Dark Doctor Strange" (who shares many similarities from the doctor strange in the What If? animated series). He is clearly set up to be our villain but one glaring question I had was why was he in our universe? I think Wanda brough him here.

What?! I hear you, I hear you but don't @ me I love Wanda as much as the next person. So hear me out.

She brought him here because she followed the voices of her kids to a dark dimension (maybe by astral projecting?) only to see the face of a Doctor Strange doppelganger. In the end of Doctor Strange's episode of What If? the Watcher (an omnipotent being hailing from a race made to watch over all varieties of universes) traps him in a pocket dimension. He is then returned there after the series finale. That still doesn't explain my theory, but let's look at both MCUWanda and WhatIf?Doctor Strange's Motivations.

They want their loved ones back.

For DDS (short hand for Dark Dr. Strange) he wants his lover back and for Wanda, she wants her kids back.

In the most recent DS:MOM trailer we see a shot of Wanda looking at her kids before they fade away revealing her in her Scarlet Witch outfit. I don't think that was just a shot for the trailer, I think that it's a vision that DDS shows her in an attempt to have her free him. And more than that, I think it works. She makes a deal to get her kids back and agrees to bring DDS with her.

So I guess my Title was a bit misleading, I don't think that Dr. Strange is literally Mephisto, I think he'll be the MCU's version of him

Can I just say, tysm for being an mcu Wanda fan who actively acknowledges that yeah, people can like her all they want, mcuWanda is one of those characters where people have a bit of a leg to stand on when disliking her and tysm for not absolutely losing it everytime it comes up that, again yeah- people have issues w her, from her casting to the... Lets say, interestingTM writing choices/directorial decisions thrown at her from aou to now

yeah yeah yeah!! i’ll always stump for every wanda in the multiverse (because sometimes u get imprinted on by a fictional character.......,), but that doesn’t mean i can’t admit she has many problems that can be huge turn offs

Wanda’s Accent and Why It Disappeared

From Joe Russo:

“We have intentionally tried to strip that accent away for a couple of reasons. One is you’ll notice at the beginning of Civil War that Black Widow is training her to be a spy, and two is she’s been on the run, and one of the most distinguishing characteristics that she has is her accent. So if you’re gonna try to disguise yourself or hide yourself or not be caught, you’re going to try to limit those trigger warnings that would make it easy for someone to identify you, which would be inclusive of her accent.

“Clearly Black Widow as a red head is an incredibly distinguishing characteristic for her, which is why she has blonde hair. Cap, we’ve seen Chris Evans walk around in public with a beard and no one recognizes him. There are simple things you can do to your appearance that take about 90% of your visibility away, and for us it was very intentional that we would just keep stripping that accent down to show her acclimating and hiding.”
