hey Orion! I was wondering how Cybertron treats beastformers/cybertronians with an creature-esk alt mode? Are they seen as intelligent as other bots or are they seen as the cybertronian equivilant to an organic planets “animals”?

Good question!

We have mechanimals, such as cybercats and petrohounds, which can’t transform or speak. They’re much like organic animals, but more intelligent.

Separate from mechanimals are beastformers, whose beast forms are their alt modes. They’re rare, but just as intelligent as any other mecha, and I’m not aware of any stigma or prejudice against them.

I feel like there's a nice difference between energon vampires and sparkeaters, and I want to put them in the same worldbuilding together

Can Transformers (Cybertronians in general) eat metal? Not like regular metal. I mean metal from like… Cybertronian fauna — metal.

I know it sounds stupid to ask because we’ve only ever seen Cybertronians consume energon adjacent products. Not to mention it’s like super bad once they run out of energon — it’s one of the biggest obstacles in TF media — and I don’t remember any storylines that involves them turning towards consuming any mechanimals.

Maybe there’s some evidence out there that confirms them, maybe, siphoning fuel from them. But I doubt they’d also be putting the outer layers to any use — consumption wise.

I think it could still be a possibility though. Mainly because after watching Delicious in Dugeon I’ve been on a Cybertronian-Cuisine-That-Isn’t-Just-Different-Flavors-Of-Fuel kick.

And yes, I’ve seen that Transformers can drink oil (Transformers Animated) and with the right adjustments to their bodies they can use… more unconventional means to fuel themselves (Last Bot Standing). Though neither of them have touched upon the topic of mechanimals being able to substitute for regular energon.

Whenever I come back to this train of thought I keep imagining cooking mechanimals is like those montages in Delicious in Dungeon:

Maybe slow-cooking mechanimal parts in certain fuels or energon mixtures will “soften” them up and become more edible.

There could be everyday devices that could be used to manipulate the mechanimal insides to completely re-invent their insides into consumable cuisine.

And then there could be a whole range of energon beverages that could heighten the delicacy of any mechanimal resourced meal to make it taste extraordinary.

Then the effects of eating said meals could make someone’s armor more shiny, their vision can become clearer, their olfactory sensors can become un-blocked, and maybe it can even make them “gain weight”.

Think of all the cool possibilities! To hell with it. Even if there’s not actually any evidence that can support there being any physical way that this is possible for the Transformers species I’m still gonna use it.

This idea is too cool to waste.

As someone who gets horny for world building, I was trying to figure out where all the dratchrod babies go

Instead, my mind jumped to an au where the majority of cybertronians are infertile (from war injuries or smth) but due to some shenanigans the crew of the Lost Light got magically healed and they're all volunteering (or being voluntold) to get pregnant to give the rest of cybertron babies

lost light as a breeding facility drives me crazy. do they have a baby quota to fill?.... tbh i do have many and varying headcanons about cybertronian parenting, but since i am first and foremost a strict feral sparklings truther, i would imagine the dratchrod babies are indeed brought to cybertron, since, well, most cybertronians dont know how to raise three litters of dozen feral babies, anyways. i dont think any of it is planned, the lost light just starts sending babies to cybertron and they had to be like Okay well we’ll do something with these.

Nastya means everything for me. She is an absolute queen and her love for the Aurora is weirdly sweet (never though I would seriusly ship someone with a ship even less one of my favorite characthes).
