MINI but MIGHTY
In their very first fully-CGI campaign, iconic car brand MINI tasked us with creating the motion content for the launch of their new 2022 ‘Editions’.
With over 26 films and supporting assets, it was one of our largest motion projects ever undertaken, and we worked closely alongside Anomaly, Media Monks and StaudStudios to ensure that there was a consistent creative vision across the entire campaign.
Embracing the brand’s inherent playfulness and fun, the films celebrate the joy of driving these truly remarkable new ‘Editions’.

Hello! I’m Corina and I’m a 2D animator and illustrator from Bucharest.
I like drawing and animating things I enjoy seeing as a viewer, such as abstract morphs, skulls, cats and anime-like visuals.
Experience:
Coming from a science and fine arts background, my passion for drawing determined me to pursue animation. I’m currently entering the last year of my Bachelor course at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
I had the opportunity to intern at MediaMonks Hilversum between February and June of 2021, where I gained a lot of experience working remotely. This was also where I picked up After Effects and learnt the software as I worked on my assigned projects.
During my internship, it was confirmed by my coworkers that I integrate well in teams and have good communication abilities, and I’m always keen on learning new skills.
Software proficiency:
TVPaint: Advanced
After Effects: Intermediate
Photoshop: Advanced
Clip Studio Paint: Advanced
ToonBoom Harmony: Beginner

Facebook Stories Xperience - An interactive installation for Cannes Lions
Facebook Stories Xperience: Illustrating the innovation behind Stories and their disruptive capabilities.
"With the French Riviera as a backdrop, our Facebook Stories Xperience successfully persuaded Cannes Lions attendees for the creative potential of Stories. Inspiring brands to embrace the medium, the installation highlighted the creative capabilities of ephemeral vertical content. We created a setup with 12 mechanically moving screens that could come together in different formations to show the big picture. Passersby control the screens and display bespoke animations and curated content that show how to do Stories best. From the creative concept, structural and sound design to hardware and software development, we brought everything together in a compelling story." - MediaMonks

“WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE” – OUR JUDGES REFLECT ON THE AD STARS 2021 SHORTLIST
We asked a few of our preliminary judges to share their experience of selecting the AD STARS 2021 Awards shortlist.
Did you know that AD STARS recruits 240 talented creative professionals from all over the world to select its shortlist? They recently finished selecting 1,726 finalists from 54 countries - an epic, painstaking task. Next, a panel of Final Judges will vote on this year’s winners.
We’d like to thank our jurors for their hard work so far. Here’s what a few jurors had to say about the preliminary judging stage…
Mariana Albuquerque, Global Creative Director at MediaMonks/Circus in Brazil
“It was amazing to see the diversity of films produced all over the globe, but especially Asia. What stood out to me was the quality of animation in the film category, films that were entertaining, instead of a manifesto.”
Marcelo Andrade, Senior Creative Art Director at Binder in Brazil
“AD STARS 2021, as expected, still showed us a lot of works related to the pandemic, which clearly is the largest obstacle to the industry in many different segments. I hope that next year, we can create and judge campaigns with more diverse themes. That we can be more relaxed and have more fun. That we can laugh again, without guilt.”
Yash Ambré, Associate Creative Director at L&K Saatchi & Saatchi in Mumbai, India
“I definitely loved the entire course of judging the entries. I think Film was the best category overall. We could definitely push more on ideas – that’s the thing I would love to see next year. More ideas. But overall, what a wonderful experience.”
Gustavo Nardini, Creative Director at FOUNDRY Berlin
“Amidst the chaos and uncertainty that took the whole world since last year, the work presented this year showed me how creativity is still our best weapon against anything we face. What I would love to see less of next year? Less corona-related entries - that would mean this is finally behind us.”
Don’t miss the AD STARS 2021 winners’ announcement on 27 August via adstars.org
