I’m of a few minds about this article.
1. 1 in 3 Grade 12 high school seniors not reading a book for pleasure isn’t that bad.
It means 2/3 of them did. That’s well over half of them, hardly a rarity.
For anyone who needs this visualized to remember how much two thirds are, here’s a reminder:
2. They’re in Grade 12.
I don’t think grownups remember what high school -- especially Grade 12 -- is like.
I’m surprised so many Grade 12s found the time to read a book at all.
Most of my Grade 12 memories are a bit of a sleep-deprived, stress-induced blur of homework and university applications.

And it's frusturating. I know what I need to do, I just can't get myself to do it. I know it could help me, but I'm so used to dealing with it when it's difficult that it's anxiety-inducing when it isn't difficult, because I don't know how to measure how I am doing if I'm not struggling.
