Bought myself the Takura Tomy Mega Ring off Amazon

So the apparent function of this toy was for a Pokémon battle arcade system that was Japan exclusive, hence this too was a Japan exclusive toy, which costed me about as much as a new game.

And I bought it knowing that it's pretty much useless here just because I wanted to have a Mega Ring to wear, it's a nice novelty for sure, and a great cosplay piece. I've always loved the Mega Evolutions of gen 6, and I still stand by them as the true extra power feature of the franchise.

Obviously this thing was made for baby hands so it's a bit snug on my wrist, but it fits alright! $60-ish for an electronic ring toy was stupid, but I wasn't seeing it online anywhere else for much cheaper, so I'm still happy I picked this up.

Sometimes i remember that Círdan is just really fucking ancient and am like actually kinda shocked... like this man has seen almost all of Middle Earth's history, from the shores of Cuiviénen to the second War of the Ring and survived. The only other named elves I can think of right now, who have lived for just as long are Ingwë, Indis and Olwë, but they never returned from Aman. Círdan meanwhile? He just stuck around never having gone to paradise and lived. What a badass. I love him.

I forced my friend who hates epic fantasy to watch Lord of the Rings with me, and I mean that legitimately, like she literally said I'm not watching that, and I said while you're in my goddamn house, you're watching it. There's no negotiation.

Anyway, she spent the first half of the Two Towers bitching and complaining and saying everyone was boring and no one was pretty - she also called Aragorn mid, which honestly, to be honest, to be truthful, if I killed her, I'm pretty sure a judge and a jury would side with me for that one.

But I digress.

She spent the first half of the movie saying the movie sucked- and then she shut her goddamn mouth for the second half.

Because even the biggest epic fantasy haters in the world shut their whining mouths when they see the battle of helm's deep.

There is literally TOO MUCH cool shit happening for even the most normie of normies to hate on it.

Seriously. Elves showing up when the humans need them most, elven archers with the amazing long range volleys, orcs with ladders, orcs with HOOKS, bombing the wall down, Legolas riding down a shield as he shoots arrows, Aragorn throwing Gimli's ass at the bridge...

Gandalf arriving on his white horse with the Rohirrim to save the damn day...and yes, elsewhere, the Ents being awesome and fucking shit up...

Doesn't matter if you're a hater of all things epic fantasy.

This shit too fire for even you to resist the burn.

I would say this is the the classic introvert/extrovert friendship, but Magnet Man likes going out and hanging out (he just doesn’t talk much), and Ring Man is cool to lie low if it means avoiding work lol.
