(The Young Atlas and the One Eyed ghoul)

Their similarities, differences, and why I think Jim is kinda like a dreamworkcification of Ken

First of all, why do I even think they are similar? At first, it was because of their evolutions (like Ken with his personalities and Jim with his forms), but then I found that they share more than just that even some of their relationships are similar

Let's start talking about their first versions (or their original self)

Jim (pre-amulet)

Ken/Kuroneki (pre-incident)

Both are introverts, shy, king of nervousness, and of course, total cinnamon rolls, the reason I don't put Kuroneki after the incident and Jim after using the amulet the first time it's because both events where a "before & after" event in their lives

Things in common: Their personality, the fact that they didn't grow with a parental figure, their best friend (Hide and Toby) are kind of the opposite of them they both act awkward with girls (Ken with Rize and Jim with Claire).

Difference: Again, their personality, even tho both are socially awkward and aside of Tobes and Hide, they don't have more friends, Jim is more social than Ken even defendending people from Steve, Jim deserved a better father and Ken deserved a better mother, besides they both share the same normal yet boring life their ways to handle them were different, Jim keep on dreaming an exiting life while Ken just keep reading books

Ken/Kuroneki/Eyepatch (post incident)

After a certain event that changed their lives FOR EVER, Jim inherited without knowing the sacred mantel of the Amulet of Merlin, thus becoming the first human trollhunter a job he can't ref, and can't get rid of the amulet cause once the amulet choose he's stuck with you until you're dead so the amulet became a part of him. Ken got his first date with his first crush, Kamishiro Rize, which turned into a gore fest cause she resulted in being a Ghoul (creatures with human bodies that lives within us and can only survive by eating human flesh), Rize almost killed him but he survived and after the fall of those metal things (forgot their name) Rize "dies" and his organs are transplanted into Kaneki thus becoming the first half human hybrid Ghoul, he can't eat human food and once in a while a thirst for human flesh possesed him starting his downfall into madness.

Things in common: After Kanjigar's death, the amulet goes to Jim, thus becoming the first human TH. After Rize's death, their organs were transplanted into Ken, thus becoming the first human/Ghoul hybrid, both wanting to reject that new life but couldn't escape from it and their only option is to get used to it, both were taken by a group of pacifist/good Trolls/Ghouls that teach them how to fight and how to survive and now they must hide their new identities, they both discover the world of bad trolls and Ghouls that were hiding behind their city, Rize's kakuhou to Ken is what the amulet is to Jim, after using all the three triumbric stones Jim activates the eclipse blade/armor which main colors are black and red same color palette as the Ghoul's kakugan.

Differences: Unlike Kaneki, Jim just got the "luck" to find the amulet, unlike poor Ken that almost died. While Kaneki started hiding his Ghoul identity from people (even from his best friend), Jim already told Toby about the armor and sword (in his defense, he didn't know about the secret at the time and was way too exited), in TH Jim was the first human trollhunter while in TG despite being told that Ken was the first human/Ghoul hybrid later in the story it is revealed that there was a previous one it's still treated as a weird case for how unusual it is (at the start of the story ofc), despite having to fight doves and other wild Ghouls, Kaneki doesn't want to kill anyone, Jim also experienced that but he got used to kill his enemies if it helps into protect his loved ones (conclusion that Kaneki doesn't reach until later)

Shining, (The Witcher) in which Jaskier is, unbeknownst to him, a dragon. Simmering, Mourning, and Vibing (from the same series) are respectively second, third, and fifth on the list, so I'm discounting them (and other works in the series in the top-kudos-ed) on the ground it would be boring if it was just this series.

Haunted and Haunting (The Umbrella Academy), in which Klaus died age 13 and spends his afterlife looking after his siblings.

I try to! Mainly because it's so lovely that people leave me comments that I want to also interact with them and thank them? The only exceptions are if I don't really know how to reply to them, if they're a bit mean, or if they've left a thank you on every chapter of a fic (beloved!!!) in which case I'll reply to the last comment

6) What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

erm... I have no idea. Probably one of the NiF ones. Lin Chen tends to suffer a lot at my hands.

a couple of times, but I either ignore or block. Thankfully not habitually

A Russian translation of Plausible Deniability (the Magicians), a Chinese translation of Shining (The Witcher), a Russian translation of tho' it were ten thousand miles (SVSSS), and a Russian translation of you could cut ties with all the lies (that you've been living in) (NiF)

That's so many words of translation and I am amazed that people have done it!

So many co-written fics. Mainly with @thebansacredbanned and a couple with @luzzeagain

This 100% changes all the time, but probably my favourite it Mei Changsu/Lin Chen/Jingyan, where Jingyan sometimes represents justice.

Hoarding or Barmecide, both of which have wonderful readers but are different from what I've been writing in the past few years. I will get back to them! One day...

hmm depends. Maybe characterisation? especially in Nif? Dialogue perhaps

I don't know how 'pretty' my writing is tbh... and also I have a propensity to plan these huge epic AUs that I then don't have enough time to finish writing (since they tend to be for exchanges)

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done it! I think you need to either be fluent in the language of know someone who is and is happy to beta. not against it, but I think it needs to be done respectfully and not using google translate

...it was possible the Bible. I wrote a poem about god... Discounting that, I think supernatural or Dr Who. It was possible a SPN/DW crossover.

If we're counting unposted ones, then I handwrote a Star Wars fic when I was like 8. Make it into a little book and drew the cover myself! ...it's never going to see the light of day

First 5* is Amakusa. 3 months into playing FGO.. happened one night i was lying down and did my first 10 pull on his banner (Apocrypha) then saw rainbow sparks. my very first SSR and i never expected i would get him after waver dodged me many times :meow_wow: amakusa removed all salt i had

Recent 5* is Muramasa after not playing FGO for almost a year. It was NYE and i was bored in a party and I saw the notification. I rolled all the freebies and it was a gold spark, i thought it would be an SR saber but it was Muramussy! Blessed night. got me back to fgo again

The favorite is Amakusa because he is almost fully fou'd and he is lvl 100 ♥️ I'm really hoping I get blessed by Buster system cause I'd love to farm with him. He's my first SSR and i will spoil him. Also really loving his Phantom Thief skin. he also has optimized command codes

Hmm.... Actually I don't follow any fandoms. The debates and discourses are so toxic like you can't believe (*cough HotD *cough*). Honestly the Darkling/Darklina fandom is the only one I'm in (because everyone is amazing and sensible here).

But I can tell you which movies/series/books I like. It's also an opportunity for you guys to get to know me a little since I don't talk about myself and my interests much.😊

i can assure you that is absolutely not even close to as embarrassing as it is to have devoured any and everything the merlin fanfiction world has to offer. i have read aus that you would not believe. i have been subjected to characterisations and headcanons that would make anyone else instantly close the tab. i have read authors with such a poor clumsy grasp of british slang i could weep from embarrassment. yet i persevered. for MONTHS. and here is what me (and beth <3) have managed to scrounge up after all of that. please use everything i've just said as context that we were NOT in our right minds reading these. proceed with caution

tributes - the! hunger! games! fic!!!! iconic legendary spectacular THEE revolutionary turnaround for the merlin fanfiction game and for the horrors generally. do NOT go in overhyped tho me and beth went in like haha what a cool weird au and then it caught us off-guard that it wasn't written terribly. also good for something longer and about much more than just merlin and arthur. it's fr like watching the show again for better and for worse. it's got camp whimsy it's got our main duo acting like complete freaks it's got this constant suffocating sense of inevitable tragedy... slayed!

history books forgot about us and in dreams - by the hunger games writer so u know it's actually written well!! don't read their other stuff tho just trust me. my memory of the first one isn't great but i remember feeling with both that finally FINALLY someone Got the finale like me + beth did. short but just rlly solid satisfying follow-ups to the show.

the court of avalon - freya + arthur best friendism in avalon realest shit ever said!!! makes me go fucking crazy fr. YES this has way too much magic lore bullshit to it and i don't careeee they're my friends.... and FINALLY a proper post-finale fic where they don't just freeze arthur in time for 1500 years...

funny thing about this scenario is that Starz Merlin is often gone for days or sometimes months at a time and nbd knows where tf he is. Sometimes he visits BBC Merlin in Camelot. Their conversation goes like this:

BBC Merlin: aren't you worried for your arthur?

Starz Merlin: nah. he's fine. he got knights and all.

BBC Merlin: how old is he?

Starz Merlin: dunno...about 17? i think he was 17 when i last saw him 2 months ago.

BBC Merlin: ALONE?!?!?!? and he's YOUNGER THAN ME?!?!?

"I felt alive and I can't complain" - again, this is sort of a hard one. Kind of vibing with this being some Garak-centric DS9 fic for some reason, but no idea of the plot

"Save your tears / For the day / When our pain is far behind" - this would either be a fic about Kira during her years as a freedom fighter on Bajor with an epilogue set later once she's settled into life on DS9. Or alternatively, this would be a Silm fic set during the time when Fingolfin is leading the Noldor across the Ice, maybe some angsty-as-fuck thing about Turgon, Idril, and them dealing with Elenwë's death

"I dive to the night like a black cat" - hmmmm this is hard. I'm not sure. Something about secrets, hiding things, maybe running from something. Not sure specifically which character or setting tho

"And in the desert a blade of grass will survive" - this would be about finding hope or keeping up hope in a hopeless situation. Maybe something about Julian while he's held captive by the Jem'Hadar, or something like that? Idk, I'm not sure

"And with a morning's star on your brow / you step upon the edge of night" - look, this is about Eärendil. It can't not be about Eärendil, my brain went there immediately. Maybe about him going to sail the sky for the first time, or alternatively a fic that shows several different nights of sailing in the night sky, a helpless witness to the things happening down in Middle-Earth, and his reactions to the things he sees?

Random headcanon: His favourite colour is purple hands down. He is trans, gay, and ace depending on how I'm feeling. Once Gwen becomes queen he deliberately gets into loaded political arguments with annoying nobles just to win them by saying well my sister's the queen and running off. He is good at a lot of things, but cooking is not one of them. He is the entire castle's resident bug guy, a servant finds a spider at 2am on the other side of the castle? They tell the nearest guard to fetch Sir Elyan. He has innatentive type ADHD. He is a YOUNGER sibling and i will die on this hill.

Unpopular opinion: He is flat out the best knight and not just in an exclude him and i kill you way. Like he doesn't have a big defined 'thing' that he is like the others do (like lance is honourable knight, gwaine is the flirty one, leon is the mum one, percy is Arm), and if i was being EXTREMELY generous that could be why people tend to overlook him (u know that's not it tho) but I'd argue it makes him a way better character like for the amount of screentime he got he has so many dimensions he has such an interesting backstory, wardrobe, relationships, motivations... just. HIM
