Story Summary: Sanguinius knew he could order Azkaellon, Raldoron, and Amit into his bed, and they would do it, no questions asked. This is a delight or a headache for those aboard the Red Tear, depending on who one asks. And, for some people, it’s both. For some reason, while editing Love-Colored Boundary #8, I became really captivated by this random panel. (This in itself isn't too unusual while typesetting, since it inherently involves staring at random panels a lot. Especially ones with some really pesky sfx to edit like that "hug" there.)

Besides the image obviously being damn cute just on the surface, I thought Koishi's eye in particular looked really cute somehow.

The way Satori's third eye is looking at Koishi's makes it look like they're mirroring the poses of Satori and Koishi themselves. For one, that made me wonder if there was some thought put into how satori-to-satori communication instinctively involves third eye contact or something, which in my mind emphasized their history together. Following satori instincts and habit even though Koishi's eye is no longer operational. It kind of snowballed from there.

More significantly, for maybe the first time in my years as a Touhou fan, after a lot of Koishi and Satori stuff along the way – even including tons of fluff – I actually had the thought that Koishi's closed eye looked restful and comfortable. The way it being closed mirrors her other two eyes that are closed because she's hugging Satori. Like it's alright that her third eye is closed and resting right now, because Satori's still there looking out for her.

And at 1 AM, that got me really emotional.

I may have hallucinated half of it. But Mizuyama is so good, man.
