Bordin Marsinkul draws Basho at Japan Town SF 2025
I've run into Bordin Marsinkul yet again! A friend and I were checking out the Cherry Blossom Festival at Japan Town in San Francisco, and the mini art mart was open that day! Since Bordin had a table in Japan Town, I commissioned him to draw my Japanese dragon OC Basho, and once again Bordin let me film. I really like his fast drawing and ink smearing techniques with his Olo markers. I now have my own pack of Olo markers, so maybe sometime on Twitch I'll try my own "hyper drawing" on stream!

Oops, Domino tried to make one of the late Linda McCartney's pie recipes included in the re-release of Paul McCartney's 1997 Flaming Pie album, only to take the title of the album too literally. Paul may be an animal rights activist, but even he would have to chastise how Domino's reckless baking could burn down a forest.
This started off as a Pie Day sketch I did on Twitch last month, and now I've decided to turn it into an overlay for before my streams start. Maybe for cooking streams, or just all my streams in general since I hope this unusual drawing would be attention getting.
Check out my Twitch here! You can watch some videos of my working on this drawing, and they'll be reposted to my you tube later. https://www.twitch.tv/guineapigdan

On March 27, 2025, Nintendo released a direct with trailers for games like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends ZA. I watched the trailers for those two games, and then streamed myself drawing Julian Lennon. I wasn't able to finish my drawing of Julian, but the trailers I watched inspired me to do this last minute doodle of Domino with a metroid and a Totodile.

This is an edited clip from a longer stream I filmed on March 27th, 2025. Nintendo released a direct for some of the last major games they'll release on the Switch before their next console, the Super Switch WiiU 2 64 Disk Drive Cube is released. Peter the cat decided to watch two trailers from this direct, the new trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokémon Legends ZA. But what about all the other games? Peter would rather not bore viewers commenting on games he has no interest in or knows nothing about, so he's only reacting to these two games he's anticipating.

A short clip from a recent Twitch stream where I drew Metal Greymon. Towards the end of the stream, I decided to add a little Agumon in the corner. This stream is the first time I streamed with my new OBSBot webcam, so I'm still getting used to it.

And watch part 1 here when I first began this sketch in a Pie Day stream! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZilD1APGABk
In my Pie Day stream, I did a sketch of Domino holding a flaming pie while Paul McCartney looks on in annoyance. A few days later, I did another art stream and decided to take a break and cook a stew on camera. While waiting for the stew to cook, I decided to finish up the sketch of Domino. Here's a segment from a stream that was nearly three hours long!

This is a reupload because the first version of this video had de-synced audio. I've now fixed it. Also, there's a part 2! In a later stream, I finish the sketch of Domino, redrawing his arms and darkening his outlines! You can see that clip here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WduCzqkjAkM
Last year, I started an account on Twitch. After months of watching other people on that site, I decided to start doing Twitch videos of my own, returning to livestreaming after nearly a decade! On Pie day (March 14th, or 3.14), I streamed myself baking a pie using a recipe from the deluxe version of Paul McCartney's 1997 album Flaming Pie. While waiting for the pie to bake, I did some drawing to pass the time. This is a 24 minute clip from a 2 hour long livestream. You can watch the full video of me baking the pie (and also cooking an improvised stew) on my livestream archive channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79irpxUVI-s

I used to stream over a decade ago on Ustream, but I stopped due to lack of interest. I'd occasionally watch people's art streams on various video sites, but most of the time I'd watch livestreams on you tube. I just have a hard time keeping up with so many different stream sites that aren't you tube. Starting in 2024 though, I began watching some furry streamers on Twitch and it got me interested in streaming again. Mar10 day, 2025 came and on a whim, I decided to do a Mario themed cooking stream with an "unofficial" Mario cook book. I chose to do "dreamy pasta and meatballs," and I probably surprised some viewers who didn't expect me to do a cooking stream! I also did a surprise appearance as fursuit Peter at the end of the stream. Unfortunately, this stream is lost media now because I didn't know that in order to have Twitch save your streams, you have to activate that setting first. Thankfully, future Twitch streams I do will be saved and later reposted on You Tube. While the stream may not be saved, I made sure to take some photos of the pasta at the end! I think it came out nicely. I'll probably alternate between art streams and cooking streams, depending on what I feel like doing that day.   Follow me on Twitch here! https://www.twitch.tv/guineapigdan
I'll soon start posting short clips of my Twitch streams on my main you tube channel https://www.youtube.com/@GuineaPigDan
My full Twitch streams (plus archives of some of my old Ustream streams) will go on my livestream channel. I uploaded my Ustream videos in 2018, but I had them all unlisted because I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this livestream channel. Now that I've started Twitch streaming, I've made my Ustream videos public. https://www.youtube.com/@guineapigdanlivestreams

NOT MY ART!
An amazing commission by Tsubaki of Parry on a video game box! I liked Tsubaki's SNES box art and since Parry is partly inspired by Mega Man, I thought a video game style commission would be fitting. Tsubaki even added in the tentacled aliens as villains. It's kinda weird seeing these aliens I first drew all the way back in pre-school now being drawn by someone else.
Check out this submission on Deviant Art and you can see a WIP sketch of Parry and colorized Parry without the box art! https://www.deviantart.com/guineapigdan/art/1167007309   You can see Tsubaki's original submission here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60091197/ and on Bluesky too! https://bsky.app/profile/tsubakinykohara.bsky.social/post/3ljjjlieffc25

Some strange Pokémon fanart I did with the emo bird with a funny hat, Murkrow. A nosy trainer is playing real life Pokémon Snap, and has disturbed a grumpy Murkrow. This Murkrow won't put up with annoying bird watchers, and swoops down to steal the photographer's camera. Well, there's a bunch of pokédollars down the drain. Hopefully wildlife photographers in the pokémon world get paid well and have good life insurance, in case a subject they photograph decides to fight back with electricity, fire, psychic powers, etc.
To draw Murkrow, I referenced several photos of crows flying. Bird feathers are hard to draw, so hopefully these simplified wings look all right. I also referenced my own hands holding my Sony camera, so I guess consider the hands here to be an artist cameo?

Back in December, Dead Kennedys artist Winston Smith held a "Bat Show" at his studio in SF where artists submitted their own artwork of the bat logo for Alternative Tentacles, the independent record label owned by former DK lead singer Jello Biafra. I attended the show (though I did not submit any of my own art) and got to meet Smith there! A selfie of the two of us is on my Bluesky. He had a lot of interesting stories about places he'd been to and people he'd met over the years. I had a very good time, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that he would have a collage workshop this February! The event was on February 9th and spaces were limited (only 12 seats), so I bought myself a ticket to attend. For this workshop, Smith brought out a ton of very old (and some recent ones too) magazines which attendees could cut out from. The last time I did a collage was maybe in high school, and it was interesting to look through all these old magazines from the 50s and 60s, seeing old timey photos and old advertisements. These magazines had a lot of cigarette ads and since these came from a time period before the negative effects of smoking were publicized, none of them had surgeon general warnings on them. Depending on the paper, some magazines were easy to cut with an exacto knife, while others were more rigid, which is why some of the cut outs here look more like they were torn out.
I mostly cut out strange phrases or odd faces. I found this advertisement of a Disney picture gun unusual, and one idea that occurred to me was to make an odd ad around it. I found a smiling face that looked very similar to the stagecoach from Pinocchio, and I thought it would be unusual to surround it with phrases about death and war. One ad I saw had a man holding a bottle in a way where his middle finger was pointing out, and removed from context it looks like someone could be flipping the bird. The man in the bowler had and President Truman were added just to fill space, and the lady with the red wig… umm, I dunno, she's there because sex sells or something? I have more scraps leftover that I didn't use, and I'll probably put them in a future collage. I had a lot of fun at this collage workshop and listening to more of Smith's stories. So go fight to kill your town today with a Disney picture gun, and make war your business.
I took pictures of every magazine I cut out of so I'd remember what my sources were. I don't remember which cut outs came from where, but here's a list of the magazines I used at the workshop. Dunno if some archivist has these online but you can probably find some of the cutouts I used here in some of these issues. I also took some photos of the inside of Studio Fallout. -Look, July 22, 1958 -Look, Nov 11, 1958 -Look, Dec 9, 1958 -The Saturday Evening Post, May 7, 1966 -The Encyclopedia of Popular Science For Young People, 1963 Edition -Vice, volume 22 number 3 -The Saturday Evening Post, May 21, 1966 -The Saturday Evening Post, Nov 23, 1963 -Look, May 27, 1958
