What's up, everyone?

This is one of the ways I'm stretching out as a writer. I've been a bit of a bookworm for most of my life. I love music, theology, musicology, history, and baseball.

For many reasons I won't get into here, I feel led to start writing thoughts on the church, where she's at, her traditions, her doctrines, and theology. I guess the best way I would classify myself generally as a born again believer in YESHUA (Jesus); I would say I've tried to understand and adapt the doctrines and theology of the early church. To Theologians, I'd tell them I'm a 2nd Temple Messianic Jew by my theology and I'm a biblical semeticist. I attend, and serve at a non-denominational Christian Church in the USA, and It's been 19 years since I first came to know Yahweh (God) as revealed through Jesus.

I will also occasionally opine on Music, Baseball, and History...and those blogs will be clearly marked as being on 'Something Different.'

Currently I'm studying and compiling material for a Messianic Torah Devotional (w/ a reading plan), and a book addressing issues that church leaders and parishioners need to consider in the hour this world is in. I hope out of this you come to know the Messiah in a greater and more personal way.

I also have a couple of several music related projects going on that I will promote and write on here as well.

The church must re-discover the roots of her faith. The biblical illiteracy of the church must be remedied. The Blood of the Messiah gave us a new identity being 'born again,' so we must go to the Tanakh (Old Testament) and learn the history of our family; A family of every tribe, tongue, and nation. The church is spiritual Israel.

I will recommend content as a reference for topics that I gloss over at the end of the blogs. That's all for now. The song I shared is by an Israeli band called Miqedem. The lyrics are Jeremiah 31:31, 31:33 (in Hebrew). I personally prefer culturally appropriate music for when I study, & I hope you will be blessed by their music as I have!

sorry if this is a stupid q but is messianic judaism offensive as a concept? half my family is jewish, and the other half is ethnically jewish but messianic and I never understood why we tell messianic jews that they're appropriating/bastardizing a religion, i know very little about christianity but messianic judaism seems very distinctive in practice than straight christianity, if they truly believe the messiah came y shouldn' they practice judaism towards those beliefs? is that my bias talking

In short, yes. “Messianic Judaism” is an offensive bastardization of Judaism.  You’re absolutely correct, “Messianic Judaism” is Christianity.  They are Christians (or Jewish apostates) pretending to practice Judaism.  

I would argue that “Messianic Jewish” communities are in reality antisemitic machines aimed to destroy the Jewish people and turn them into Christians– a horrible issue that we have seen throughout Jewish history.

I would not suggest saying anything to your family about their practices.
