Ummmm... They made this for me. I only seen the first episode so far, but I’ma recommend it. I love it whenever they show me a show with Black people and I can relate either to knowing somebody like everybody that they show me, or being like the people they show me. I get real tired of token characters don’t even have nobody Black in their personal life. Surely, that’s somebody’s testimony, but it’s been done hella times and every time, it’s in a show or movie that wasn’t meant for that character’s audience.

I was looking for something new to watch and this is right up my ally. You’ve got several different types of Black people present, all of them like folk you would meet in a real Black environment. They aren’t there for diversity points, even though they got different stories going on. I love that for them. THIS feels like representation for ME. Watch it. Real niggas only, though. Like, if you know you be out here coonin and carrying on, I’m not talking to you. Don’t report back telling me you wanna see something less ghetto. I don’t care.

I’m only addressing people who know all Black people and all types of Black people. Dassit. The rest of y’all have fun, though. Enjoy yourself where you are. Don’t come over here.

I even feel like the one girl doing the conscience rap can appeal to some of you, so maybe just maybe, y’all can watch it too. Basically, I’m saying that it is for Black people, but if you’re one that often complains that Black shows being too ghetto and not reflecting your environment, you might not like it. If you don’t really have a lot of Black friends or don’t rock real hard with the other Black people you know, you might not like it. If you don’t really follow a wide variety of Black content creators if they aren’t in your one niche. If you Black but don’t like rap music, you might not like it. If you don’t like City Girls or the Miami rap scene, or if you invite nonblacks to the cookout, you might not be the target audience.

But, if you do stuff like that and like stuff like that, like me, check it out and come chill with me. The first episode was very fun for me and I’m moving into the next. The show/season is still new. Rap Sh!t IMDB Link It’s an Issa Rae creation, too. I’ve never seen Issa do something that wasn’t for me.

hi pookies! i’ve been mia for a bit, dealing with some heart issues but i am now being treated with some meds that are making me feel like shit. here’s some un-proofread simon riley for you.

simon hated leaving you alone in the house for multiple reasons.

he loved you with his entire soul. that was the main reason, sure. it was so hard to leave you because you are his everything.

but he also really, really worried about your self-preservation skills.

you and your fucking crime shows. like, seriously. he didn’t understand the appeal.

you couldn’t stop watching some bloody show called criminal minds. it was too graphic for a pretty thing like you. and he didn’t really appreciate the way you talked about that reid bloke.

the most mind blowing part of it all was you’d fall asleep watching the show. and you’d leave the damn window open!

you’d told him a million times that the fresh air helped you sleep. he didn’t care. shut and lock the fucking thing.

he’s explained over and over again. bad people want him dead. him and everything he loves.

so, say maybe one night he decides to teach your disobedient self a lesson.

maybe he gets back from his deployment early, and you’re not expecting him. say he sneaks around the ground level, rapping gently on the siding of the house. his knocking growing progressively louder. he sees you stir under the covers. he picks up a twig and snaps it.

you shoot up in bed, catching a glimpse of a dark, bulking figure flit by the open window.

in an instant, you were reaching for your phone, opening the favorited callers on your phone app and tapping simon’s name. you had no idea if he’d even answer, and maybe 911 should’ve been your first instinct, but it wasn’t.

“simon!” you shouted in relief when he picked up, lowering your voice when you remembered your quickly escalating situation.

“simon, i think somebody’s trying to get in the house.”

by this point, simon was just standing around the driveway, awaiting your frantic call.

and yeah, he had cameras covering every inch of the place, but you never did get around to installing the ring app (he made you log into it the next morning).

“i’m two minutes away, love.”

just your luck! simon was on his way to save you!

he entertained you, doing a full sweep as you sat huddled and shaking in the bedroom, eyes never leaving the now locked window.

he returned a few minutes later. “all clear, dove. nothing to worry about, probably just a fox mulling about.”

you latched onto him, refusing to let go until your nerves calmed down a bit.

maybe now you’d stop watching those stupid shows.

here's a preview of something i'm working on as an apology :))

you always find yourself here. 

no matter what you do, how long you wait, you always find yourself here - standing outside of eric foreman’s basement - nervous to knock on the door.

you’ve been nervous a lot recently.

a subtle kind of anxiety that creeps up on you, until you can’t feel your fingers and your arms have gone numb. smoking helped. it’s why you’re here now, knocking on your dealer’s best friend’s door. or at least, that’s what you tell yourself as you reach up and rap your knuckles against the wood.

the door gets ripped open, and the look of confusion that was marred on steven’s face slides into surprise. he’s wearing a washed-out band tee, and if you squint, you can see the remnants of a name there, but steven’s tapping his rings on the door, dragging your attention back to his face.

there’s a knowing grin on his face.

“haven’t seen you around in a while,” he states, trailing his eyes up the length of you. the pair of you haven’t seen each other since he tried to teach you how to roll, before getting distracted by one of kelso’s pranks. you nod and nervously twist at the hips, sending the hem of your skirt twirling.

“miss me?” you squint at him. you missed him. you never thought you’d think that. never thought that you would miss steven hyde, yet here you are. hyde raises his brows, tongue trailing the line of his bottom teeth as he tries - and fails - to hide his blushing smile.

steven pulls the door open and you glance around the surprisingly empty basement. 

“been kinda anxious lately.”

“oh, well-” steven starts, patting his chest and looking at you triumphantly, “-hyde’s got something for that”

in a daze, you watch hyde as he lifts the joint to his lips. that anxious feeling tugging at your stomach has scattered, and been replaced with a giggly kind of calm. you let yourself gaze at his ringed fingers, at the way his lips wrap around the paper, at the way he inhales, the smoke wafting out of his mouth and his nose, settling around the room.

jim morrison is singing about an LA woman, and the music settles into your subconscious, the guitar prickling at the cloudy parts of your mind. hyde wordlessly hands you the joint but drops it on the ugly yellow couch. you start giggling, being quick to pick it up and pull it to your lips.

“you get so giggly when you’re high. it’s cute.”

the compliment washes over you, “you think i’m cute?” you giggle, furrowing your brows together and smiling, stupidly. hyde leans back against the couch and motions for the joint.

“mm-hm,” he sounds, casually, pulling the joint to his mouth. “i’ve never told you that?”

“no, you have. just wanted to hear it again.”

hyde’s face splits into a smile, “you’re evil. you come here just to get complimented?”

“s’not my fault you’re so good at it.”

you roll off the bed before he can respond, yelling, “music time!”

steven rolls his eyes and groans.

“i promise it’ll be good - no abba. besides, this album is basically over. i’ll pick something you like.”

“fine,” he dubiously agrees. 

“what do i get if i pick correctly?”

he thinks it over, looking around the room to check if he has anything he’s willing to give you. then he smirks, leaning back on the couch.

“a kiss?” he offers.

you clap your hands excitedly, “okay, gotta slip into focus mode.”

you crack your fingers and roll your neck, giving his crates of vinyl a concentrated stare. you have a lot of options.

“does it have to be your favourite or one you’re just okay with?” 

“oh,” hyde begins, getting comfortable on the couch. he’s manspreading, an arm behind his head, staring at you as he smokes. 

if you weren’t so high, you’d be blushing.

“i want to hear my favourite.” 

“you’re making this extremely hard; do you not want to kiss me or something?” 

a shit-eating grin appears on his lips, “gotta make you work for it, doll.”

you blush and quickly turn away, flipping through the huge music collection. hyde pipes up from the couch as he watches you take your time. 

“i’m getting nervous baby,” he calls, but you shush him, “shut up steven, you’re distracting me.”

bowie, hendrix, fleetwood mac, led zeppelin—you pause and frown at the album. noticing how worn the case is, you set up the record player. a surprised look of recognition floods hyde’s face as he hears the opening chords to black dog.

“no…” he trails off.

you smile excitedly. “did i do good?”

when the drum hits, he jumps from the couch and stalks toward you. your back gets pushed against the countertop before you even register that he’s there. it’s sudden enough that you make a small, startled sound, hands jutting out behind you to grab at the edge of the counter. he slides his hand around your waist, tugging your hips towards him by the small of your back and begins talking as if this isn’t affecting him in the slightest. you, on the other hand… 

“you’ve been stalking me, haven’t you?” he asks, bending down; pouring his red-rimmed eyes into yours. all you can do is stand there and let out a shuddering, stuttering breath.

suddenly, you’re nervous. maybe it’s the drugs, maybe it’s the proximity, but as hyde flicks his gaze from your lips to your eyes -- up close and personal -- you’re a goner. 

“no,” you whisper, gulping. “i’m just observant.” 

“always looking at me,” he tuts, and he’s joking, but you nod regardless. nod because it’s true. 

“yeah, you’re really pretty.”

hyde doesn’t expect that. he pulls a face and snorts, “what?” 

“yeah, like,” you start, tone quiet. you flick your eyes down the length of his throat, fingers coming out to play with the hem of his shirt. 

you briefly smile, “sometimes, i think it’s kinda insane, how pretty you are. you have really nice lips. the hair is appealing, too, of course, but i think it’s the whole package that just – has anyone ever told you that? that you’re pretty? i really think they should have; it’s so obvious—”

hyde shuts you up with a kiss.

he tightens his grip on your back and just kisses you, deep and steady, with no tongue, just the soft feel of his lips and the taste of weed and spit. at first, it shocks you and makes you pause, but then you’re there, moving your fingers to grab at his belt to tug him deeper, pulling away for a second, just to lean forward and kiss him again.“say that again,” he breathes, dark eyes catching yours.

" alias / es :  so far i only have to :  jacqueline deveraux and vanessa marchetti .  but i do feel that there are plenty more aliases that she uses .  some might be a throw away ,  other's may have been retired due to the possible chance of having a cover blown .  totally depends ! ethnicity :  white / caucasian .   one picture / icon that you like the best of your character :  fuck you ,  i'm breaking the rules lmao  (  because i can't possibly just put ONE .  )  but also these are my current faves .

three headcanons you've never told anyone :

mia struggled with self - ha*rming ,  starting at the age of five till her very late teens .  mostly developing because of being just a kid and not understanding her emotions or how to handle her grief and anger .  then of course she was a teen and that comes with all sorts of negative feels .  not to mention she got bullied a lot because of her full lips and how chapped they sometimes get .  it started off by pulling out her hair and pinching herself -  growing more and more out of control as she got older .  she of course has stopped in a sense  (  though she's self - ha*rmed in different ways  )  there are scars on her body ,  mostly in area's that she was able to hide them from plain view .  so like her upper arms and shoulders ,  her thighs and stomach .

she enjoys watching trash reality television ...  mostly the thirty day fiance type shit .  don't ask me why ,  i honestly don't have a fucking clue why she likes them .  actually on this subject i definitely will say she's a cinemaphile  (  and probably has a letterbox account under false name .  )  if you wanna take her out on a date ,  you must take her out to a movie .

on occasion ,  you might hear her freestyle rap or just break out in a rap song .  mostly 90s rap music ,  definitely heard her sing salt n pepa's shoop ...  or even biggie's hypnotize .  i know it's surprising ,  an alt ex - grunge princess like mia enjoy's rap ?  yes .  at least the oldie's she does .

three things your character likes doing in their free time :

mia expresses through creativity ,  so a lot of the times when she's bored or when she's got time off she's doing something artistic .  mostly sketching or playing on a guitar  (  and singing too .  )  she has many journals of hers ,  mostly the pages are filled with her experiences from day to day . her feelings too and whatever she's going through at the current moment .  sometimes she sketches things like buildings or normal people while she's people watching .  she also tends to do some sort of mixed media too ,  so these journals get really thick by the time she's finished .  when she sings ,  she sings softly .  it's almost ethereal like ?  i'd say her singing is a cross between chelsea wolfe and hope sandoval from mazzy star .  which pairs well with her acoustic guitar .  other artistic avenues she takes are painting and writing poetry  (  which is in her journals most of the time and no one gets to read them unless you are special .  )

playing up on the writing part :  mia reads a lot ...  like a lot ,  a lot .  she mostly reads non - fiction / fiction / horror / suspense + mystery / crime / espionage / romance / erotica  (  lmao !  )  but it is common knowledge that mia is a hopeless romantic who loves a good romance novel ,  the cheesier the better too .

rock climbing ,  either outdoors or indoors is another favorite thing mia does on her downtime .  i think it's because it requires a lot of determination and focus ,  also some calculation when it comes to bouldering walls inside .  occupying the mind by unlocking this part of her brain is very relaxing to her .  outside of jogging i think this is probably her favorite way to keep in shape .  

** just adding this for fun ,  but we know a two more things mia likes to do ,  it's have great sex and eat great food .  you can say that she engages in risky behavior .**

people your character likes / loves : 

 see ...  now this is where things get pretty tricky because ...  well mia has lost her loved ones  (  whether she wanted to or not ,  should i say .  )  though we can't say we don't love them either ,  because mia's parents passed away and her other family member's think she's dead .  she still loves all of them no matter what ,  and i'd also have to say that the people that mia knows .  people mia considers friends or loved ones ,  while she doesn't have that many .  she loves them to bits ,  because they literally become the most important people to mia .  when it comes to liking certain people ,  i believe that her liking someone is a rare occurrence .  usually has to do with crushing on someone and that's it .  oh and she also loves her little crew :  samira and petra !

two things you character regrets :

for the most part mia is someone with little regrets in her life ,  and those that do ,  they're very important ones .  one's that sort of had an impact on her .  

not allowing people to love her the way she needs to be loved .  this is quite literally the most un-selfish / selfish thing about mia  (  and it's so true to who mia is really .  )  there is this very intentional self - sacrificing behavior kicks in .  she pushes people away ,  she hurts them ,  she gets very mean and nasty / cold ...  she pushes people away from her mostly because in her mind ,  it's the best thing she could do for someone she really cares about ?  even if it was guaranteed that someone that she'd grown to care for ,  was someone who would be safe forever .  it didn't matter ,  because mia still believed this is a way of saving them .  in so doing ,  because of this mia will then feel that she is doing it out of survival or to protect herself .  despite how intentional it is ,  mia will always find herself thinking about a couple of people and how she regrets not seeing how things would go .  to give people a chance and to also allow people in .  trusting in that process instead of being so afraid that she'll get someone killed or hurt .

all of every assignment that she has killed someone or people who were innocent or a child .  now this is a concept that will forever live with mia ,  no matter how hard she tries to forget things ...  she will always regret hurting people who didn't deserve it ,  especially children .

one phobia your character has :

i think it would be the obvious ,  mia is afraid of airplanes .  being around them ,  seeing them ,  having to travel while on them .  we know this because this is how her parents died /  how she became an orphan .  while saying all of this ,  mia is also afraid for fire ...  because you can't have one thing or the other ,  it's a combo deal .
