oh my gosh please please where are your tolkien hardbacks from!! they are so pretty

oh thank you!!! theyre the Harpercollins hardbacks, I would get them at my local bookstores when each new book was released (thats when they would be stocked usually). For the ones that were already released for a long time like the Hobbit/LOTR boxset I had to get lucky (some bookstores have really elaborate Tolkien collections and others don't). I try not to buy from Amazon or Bookdepository so I had to be villigant :)

twenty three (name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of and explain why you like it) -- probably my most recent one, grow as we go! it’s the only think i’ve written for the cp fandom and it’s pretty personal to me. also, like ... it’s the first thing i’ve really written or published in three years, and i’m somewhat proud of the writing.

forty (what do you struggle with the most in your writing?) -- oop um definitely writing in a way that makes sense to anyone other than me. i get very lost in what i’m wanting to get across, and between that and the fact that when i get really into writing i get very flowery means that literally no one understands what i’m saying. (i really just need a beta lmao.)

forty one (list five fics you are currently reading) -- well i try not to have too many fics open at once or i’ll get plotlines mixed up, so i’ll list the the two i’m (re)reading and then the three i’ve finished most recently, in that order.

forty five (what is your all time favorite fanfic?) -- ooh. okay this one took a few minutes, but it’s gotta be sundown starts at half-past six by halfdesertedstreets! i’ve read this a couple times, and each time i’m reminded very aggressively of how much i love it. it’s so beautifully written and it’s 63,000 words of angst and fluff and like. dude. it’s a magic au what more could you want?

these are two separate parts from the nurseydex fic i started based on the prompt: “my dad invited me to go on a fishing trip with him and his buddies and I hate water and can’t swim but I don’t wanna crush my dad’s feelings and he said his friend’s son was coming too, so I’m kind of hoping he’s cool’ and ‘I fell into the water and you were the only sober one who was able to save me” from this post

when i first read the prompt my mind immediately was like nurseydex and i really really love the prompt, so i had to

ANYTHING FOR YOU MIAomg omg okay here we go!! sequel to this post from forever and a day ago :’)

let’s start with a kiss shall we bc i’m soft!!!

sometimes after they kiss, dex doesn’t open his eyes right away; nursey loves these moments because he can stare unabashedly at dex. dex is always pink and soft and smiley and nursey’s heart melts every time

on their lazy stay-in days, dex paints nursey’s nails. dex is always SO shy and embarrassed when he asks but nursey loves it because dex is so steady and even and nursey loves the subtle excuse to hold dex’s hand

for their first year anniversary they decide not to spend money on gifts. nursey writes dex a poem called “an ode to my first real love” and types it up on a typewriter because he knows dex likes the look of it. dex codes a program for when nursey is writing that causes occasional bubbles to pop up with supportive reminders from dex. dex frames the poem and nursey cries and screenshots every bubble he can catch in time

speaking of keeping things, dex has a shoebox of memorabilia from his relationship with nursey. there’s a puck in there from a game forever ago where dex scored the winning goal and nursey crashed into his side and held him (i.e when dex realized he had Feelings), a ticket from a movie stub their junior year (i.e when they finally started to become real friends), a cut out from the very first magazine nursey was ever published in, concert tickets from their third date, museum tickets from their fourth, a pressed flower that nursey picked once and tucked behind dex’s ear, etc. this box is Full Of Things

nursey finds it when they’re moving into their new apartment years down the road

dex finds nursey crying over the box and gently touching all the things. he’s super embarrassed but nursey seems happy so he’s okay

mostly he’s just glad he didn’t leave the ring in there

dex teaches nursey how to knit!! nursey gives up after his third failed scarf but then reaches out to ford and starts watching youtube tutorials and eventually bullshits his way through a blanket that turns out not-terrible looking. it’s now the go-to blanket to use when they’re cuddling on the couch

oh also nursey loves to randomly text dex and remind him that he loves him. he knows dex gets insecure sometimes and while he can’t magically make it go away, nursey knows that the reminder that dex is loved and loved by nursey specifically is an extra help. dex would never admit it but he loves it. he probably also screenshots all of those texts and saves them in a special folder on his phone js

when nursey’s novel gets published, he dedicates it to his mom. dex thinks it’s a lovely sentiment but he cries even harder when he gets to the acknowledgments and realizes nursey thanked dex for being his muse and the love of his life

oh and their proposal is a quiet affair. dex decides to do it right after nursey gets the first copy of his first ever published book. nursey goes to put it on the shelf, and he’s already choked up because he feels so proud of himself. when he turns around, dex is down on one knee

they’ve been together for so long by this point, but dex references a line from that first poem nursey wrote and gave him, and nursey practically tackles him right then and there

this is getting long and i’m already crying bc i love them so tldr they’re sappy and romantic and in love and they deserve to be soft with one another!!!!!
