My life is full of realizations lately…but I changed my mind about this post so it's only about my kumihimo experiments.

Anyway, in the last week I’ve been experimenting with different braids on my kumihimo, just to try out different patterns, colours and strings. Not for gifting…just experimenting. It was a strange experience.

Oh and I made myself a microcord bracelet to match my other one I got as a parting gift. It turned out quite shabby, because I sabotaged it as usual, but it works and I like it! It’s the black-green-yellow one with the buckle.

My observations:

1: braiding paracord does a number on your styrofoam kumihimo frame…

2: wool yarn is beautiful

3: attaching buckles and any end piece aesthetically is hard af

4: not all colours match (duh…)

5: braiding with 16 strands is exponentially harder then with 8. Don’t get me started on the 20 strand pattern…

6: always use a counterweight if you braid flexible thread. No, your finger hold is not enough. Trust me!

If anyone reading this cares to answer: Which pattern do you like most?

Brass stash .

A pimped up brass toothpick holder for a Canadian EMT .

The brass screw threaded container was etched and then brass blacked before stone-washing . The included contents contain a 10 hour mini chem-light , micro fire-steel , gutted 550 fire-cord and waxed hemp tinder and a small blade for striking .

The customer also requested that the container be wrapped in CB micro cord and be carried on a heat anodized Titanium carabiner clip and Ive added GITD microdots inside and out .

Da ich eine klitze kleine Möglichkeit hab, an einem kleinen, schnuckeligen Adventsmarkt mit zu machen, brauch ich natürlich ein bisschen was zum Anbieten. So der Markt denn mit den Coronazahlen statt findet. 🙈 Mal abwarten. Da mir der Markt wichtiger ist, als der Inktober/Nichtober, steht dieser leider hinten an. Da es aber einige sehr, sehr lustige Themenkombinationen gibt, werd ich das, so gut es geht, nachholen. Bis zum Sonntag existieren ja auch schon die Skizzen. Auf dem Bild seht ihr meine neueste Schöpfung. Kleine Libellen, die an einem "Lesezeichen" baumeln. Die Körper bestehen aus Microcord und es ist gar nicht so einfach, damit die Knoten zu machen.
