Why Sea Creatures Become So Much Larger in the Depths of the Ocean's Midnight Zone

Once you reach 200 metres, you enter the twilight zone – where light is almost gone, plants cannot photosynthesize. This zone extends from 200 to 1,000 metres.

Further down is the midnight zone (1,000 – 4,000 metres), which is completely dark, cold and under enormous pressure.

Below that is the abyss (4,000 – 6,000 metres), then the hadal zone – deep trenches on the ocean floor, starting at 6,000 metres.

The deepest known point is the Mariana Trench, reaching a depth of 10,935 metres, deeper than Mount Everest is tall.

The deepest humans have ever dived in a scuba diving device is 332 metres, and in a submersible it is 10,935 metres, reaching the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

-The dumbo octopus is the deepest living species of octopus found to date.

-The frilled shark is one of the oldest living species of sharks, it might even date back to the late Jurassic!

-The gulper eel, true to its name, can swallow prey 11 times its size.

-The yeti crab uses those long hairy arms to catch bacteria from hydrothermal vents as its main source of food.

I was playing jackbox quiplash and it was the 3rd round, aka thriplash. Wich means I needed to think of 3 funny responses to the prompt "if you see _____ you can never un-see it" and I couldn't think of anything. I thought of the twilight movies eventually and saw I only had 30 seconds left. And I still had 2 responses to think of. So of course my nerd ass only was able to think of depth zones of the ocean (surface, twilight zone, midnight zone, abyssal zone) so I then wrote "the midnight movies", and "the abyssal movies" and it was the joke with the most narrow audience I have ever made.
