#mikey's imaginary friends

Here's an art/info dump about this stupidly cute idea that's been rotating in my brain for three day.

(the first comic here is just how they first met. they ended up in the same alley, pestering the same cat without noticing. Then the cat left and they notice they're not alone lol)

(Second is Donnie 'talking' with Mikey for the first time. He only uses Mind Mend to communicate and is just as surprised as Mikey to find it worked on him. (it has only worked with Leo before this))

I'll put the rest under a break b/c i will be going off about this and i don't want it to take up your entire feed.

I'm jokingly calling this "Mikey's Imaginary Friends" though that might change if i continue this.

Basically it's this, the twins grew up with Draxum while Raph and Mikey grew up with Splinter. Neither set knew about the other (b/c splinter though they were dead and didn't want his two remaining kids to worry about it, and Draxum was too focused on fixing his lab to pay much attention to the twins.) So, imagine Mikey's shock when, at age 8, he's out exploring topside (having snuck out) and runs into two more mutant turtles (who also snuck out and are exploring.) Thus begins an ongoing sneaking out to meet up thing between the three b/c Mikey's excited to have new friends and the twins are just as fascinated with Mikey as he is with them.

And before you ask, "hey, why doesn't Mikey tell his family about the two other turtles?" he does. Raph thinks he just made up some imaginary friends so he plays along but doesn't believe they're real. Splinter, on the other hand, thinks he's talking to Hamato ancestors due to some very big miscommunications (that i'll probably draw out at some point b/c it's silly)

Twins background wise, i'm still thinking through a lot of it, but i'll put my thoughts down anyways.

Draxum knew that training the twins at a young age would be counterproductive, so he doesn't train them beyond some basics a few times a week. Other than those sessions, he leaves them alone with their less-than-stellar caretaker, in favor of rebuilding his lab. The caretaker doesn't do much for them beyond give them food and very basic school like lessons. Beyond that the twins are left on their own.

they come to the conclusion that the only people that will care for them is themselves. They discover Mind Meld very early as a result of this and will not talk verbally b/c they found out early on with their caretaker, that if they tried to talk, they were just ignored anyways, so what's the point.

(I'm also thinking Donnie might be deaf or hard of hearing in this, with the pair of them using Mind Meld as a way for him to temporarily hear through Leo and thus keep Drax from finding out. but i'll have to do some more research before i decide for sure/figure out the specifics)

as for Meeting Mikey

That's why they became so fascinated with mikey. B/c mikey was the first person that treated them like a person and not a job or an incomplete experiment. (He's also so happy and bright, they can't avoid getting drawn to him lol)

Mikey's probably the only one they verbally start talking to, even after they teach him mind meld. (though Leo's the one to pick up on that more than Donnie. Donnie doesn't do much talking at all outside mind meld).

They also come out of their shells (hehe) a lot as they interact more with Mikey. Before they met him, they acted more like automatons, even when alone. The more they socialize with Mikey, the sillier these two get. Leo learns about puns and starts going mad with them, Donnie starts happy stimming about thing (which he has either been suppressing or just never had the urge to do before.) Basically they stop acting like little creepy statues and start acting like kids.

Honestly, it's just a cute idea with the kiddos meeting each other and Mikey inadvertently socializing his not-well-socialized brothers.

(also, the twins wear masks b/c Donnie doesn't like the smell of the city and he's worried about germs. Not for any ninja reasons, what so ever.)

Alright, that's it for my info dump. maybe more later? Maybe not? Depends on how much longer these kids keep my attentions (though right now, they're doing a pretty good job at it lol)

Summary: Mikey and Raph are raised by Splinter while Leo and Donnie grew up with Draxum. Neither set knew about the other so when Mikey meets the twins while exploring alone, he’s just super excited to have two new turtle friends like him (even if no one else believes they exist.)

Update: Some of my imaginary friends came back!! But some of them are not here :( Still kinda mourning the ones that were close to me :( At least I have some of them back :)

Fun story, I researched about the psychological effects behind imaginary friends & it's soooo freaking sad to see all resources are about kids.

(Basically, they're useful for emotional regulation, problem solving, imaginative play, social learning & exploration of experiences beyond your own understanding. Cool, right???)

I mean, yeah, imaginary friends are mostly part of the childhood experience, but come on, there are adults who have them too?

rindou doesn't know with who, or for how long, but he knows he is. he watched with a confused expression as his brother entered the conference room, hair styled as it always has been, shoes sleek, and his suit crisp.

he was also early. by 10 whole minutes.

"who is she?"

the older haitani, who had now sat down, span his chair towards his brother with a lazy, smitten smirk on his face.

"whatever do you mean, brother dearest? can't a guy just have a good day?"

"my ass," rindou rolled his eyes. "no day is a good day for you."

it was silent as the two brothers stared at each other until ran finally broke out.

"fine fine, i'll tell you if you're that desperate to know, calm down rin."

"she's hot,"

"and feisty ya know, not like those flowery, cutesy girls."

"and we met at the bar a week ago, she was dancin' with her friends and then she came to the bar, so i went to the bar and then we started talking and-"

"why are you on the table?" came mikey's voice from the door, the rest of the executives stood behind him with equal expressions of disgust.

ran, who now somehow lying tummy-down on the table had his legs stopped mid-swing, pausing twirling his imaginary long hair on his finger.

"good lord, you're in love again aren't ya'" kakucho dragged a hand down his face in annoyance.

"ya wanna hear about her?" ignoring the collective groans from his colleagues.

I'm good, thanks! Hope you're doing well too! Lmao this is the first time I've seen this prank but it looks like fun! I definitely think most of them would punch first and ask questions later but this is what I've got for everyone!

Takemichi- He is so confused, nervously calls out your name??? Internally panics that this somehow has something to do with time leaping or the other stuff he doesn't understand. He grabs your hand and shakes it like he does with Naoto, thinking this might make it stop? Now you're the confused one. 

Mikey- Quickly swallows the rest of the taiyaki he was eating and jumps into action! But he can't see an enemy??? Figures it could be an impulse type thing and hugs you instead, trying to make you calm down. 

Draken- Shouts "WHERE!? WHERE!?" He has no idea how to fight something he can't see so he just picks you up instead and holds you up in the air, figuring whatever it is can't reach you.

Naoto- Thinks it's a ghost, he's read about this in his occult books. Luckily he has some salt on him, throws it in the direction you're being attacked.

Baji- Doesn't even question it just starts swinging at the air, he even attacks the air for a solid 5 minutes after you've stopped. He just got too into the "fight" to notice it's "over".

Chifuyu- Frowns and whips his head around, looking for the attacker. After he doesn't see anyone, he shrugs and starts punching in the direction you're trying to fight in. Of course he'll protect you! ....even if he can't see the threat.

Mitsuya- Get's in between you and the "enemy" and sternly looks at the air, telling it "that's enough". You're too bewildered at how he told off the imaginary friend to continue. 

Hakkai- Tries to get in between you and the imaginary friend so he can take the hits instead. Swears he actually felt a punch, even after you tell him he wasn't real. 

Pah- Rubs his eyes a lot, thinking he has a problem. Still charges in to try and save you, tells you to step back so he can take care of it.

Peh- Yells a lot and throws all kinds of insults at the imaginary friend while trying to stop them. 

Smiley- "you wanna die!?" He jumps into the fight real quick, he's been wanting an excuse all day. Unfortunately he thinks the closest guy to you is the one who did it, so he ends up chasing after a random guy. 

Angry- "are you ok?" He's so concerned, hates the idea of anyone hurting you. He grabs your hand and runs, trying to get you both away from whatever that was.

Mucho- Raises an eyebrow at you and pulls you away from the direction of the "fight". Instead holding you in his arms to keep you safe.

Sanzu- Grabs his katana and starts slashing at the air while laughing, you have no idea where he got that katana from.

Kazutora- "Huh!?" He gets mad at the imaginary friend and quickly fights back against it, throwing a mixture of punches and kicks. He's so mad that anyone would dare to hurt his lover. 

Hanma- Matches your energy, goes "bang bang" with an imaginary gun before throwing an imaginary grenade at them. Once it's over, he happily walks away with you and says the two of you should do that again next week.

Kisaki- "what the hell are you doing?" He doesn't understand at all, there's clearly nothing there. Grabs your hand and speed walks away, occasionally looking back and adjusting his glasses.

Koko- Hisses a "what the fuck" before kicking in that direction a few times. Buys you cake after because he feels guilty that you got "attacked" on his watch.

Inui- Blinks before ruthlessly punching at the air, he isn't sure what's going on but he isn't going to let anything happen to you.

Taiju- Laughs manically and charges at the imaginary friend. Unfortunately since he doesn't feel anything he just keeps running, assuming it's running away from him. You have to run after him to get him back.

Izana- "who the hell is trying to hurt what's mine?" Wants you to point out the guy out but when you don't he starts attacking in the general direction you're fighting in. Doesn't seem to totally understand it wasn't real after, since he demands to see your wounds so he can treat them. 

Kakucho- Eyes flicker around wildly while trying to find the threat. He's so worried about you, of course he throws a bunch of punches but when he doesn't hit anything he worries that the other guy is "dodging him". He's a little disappointed to find out it was only a prank after. He's glad you're ok but kinda wanted to show off his skills to you. 

Ran- Gets out his baton and whacks the imaginary friend a bunch of times, then grins and declares that it's dead. Insists you come back to his house after so he can keep you "safe".

Rindou- Panics a little since he can't see anyone. Tries to tackle the air and hits the ground pretty hard. Still asks "did I get it!?" Is more concerned about you then his fall. 

Mochi- Angrily yells and starts swinging, yells out to ask if you're ok the whole time while he's doing this.

Shion- "who is it!???" Threatens the air before punching at it, probably somehow manages to punch a lamppost instead then insists you kiss his bruised knuckles better.

South- Happily starts throwing punches for you. When it doesn't seem to work (he can't feel anything) he picks you up and runs away while carrying you. (He plans on coming back later to finish the job after you're safe).

Wakasa- He's pretty confused about this, takes a second to think before shrugging and throwing a kick. Wants you to say thank you after since he "saved you".

Benkei- Yells and swats at the imaginary friend, tries to make them go away. If that fails then he gets more serious with it and attacks the air more ferociously.

Shinichiro- Calls out to you in concern, he's not sure what to do exactly. Tries to bargain with the imaginary friend, "take me instead!" When that doesn't work he tells you to run while he holds them off.

Cooking Catastrophe

2003!Michelangelo x reader

A little short, but we can work with that🧡

You decide to surprise the turtles by cooking dinner, but your culinary endeavor takes an unexpected turn. Laughter ensues as Michelangelo attempts to salvage the meal🧡

Warnings: Spelling, Mikey being sweet.

The lair was often filled with the comforting scent of pizza, a familiar aroma that usually meant dinner was on its way. However, tonight was different. Tonight, you had decided to take on the challenge of cooking a homemade meal for your favorite turtles friends, wanting to surprise them with a taste of something different, as a thanks for all the nice things they had done for you.

Michelangelo, ever the playful and curious one, eagerly volunteered to assist. Anything to spend time with the things he loved the most. You and food.

"Dude, this is gonna be epic! I can already taste the deliciousness!" he exclaimed, rolling up his imaginary sleeves with enthusiasm.

“No”, you told the youngest of the turtles, trying to push him towards the door of the kitchen. “This is a thanks from me to you and your brothers, so you shouldn’t be doing anything”.

“Okay, okay”, Mikey said, holding his hands up, smiling at how cute you were when you were this determined. “But if you need anything, I’ll be watching TV”. And with that Mikey left the kitchen for the common area.

Little did you know that this culinary adventure would take an unexpected turn.

You had chosen a recipe that seemed manageable on paper, but as the two of you navigated the kitchen, chaos ensued. Pots clattered, ingredients flew, and laughter echoed through the lair. Batter was everywhere. On the floor, the walls and over your head on the ceiling.

You sighed loudly at the sight, only to be shocked by a certain someone in the doorway.

“You still don’t want any help?”, Mikey asked, smiling smugly, finding the scene in front of him hilarious.

"Maybe I should stick to ordering pizza," you sighed as flour dusted the air like a powdery snowstorm. How the flour got into the air, you had no idea. You swear, the lair’s kitchen had its own life.

"Nah, dude! We got this!" Michelangelo replied, strutting into the kitchen, like he was a king of the kitchen kingdom.

Time went on as the two of you battled against runaway ingredients and mischievous pots. Yet Mikey found a way to turn the chaos around you into something fun. With music playing on his speaker, Mikey would every once in a while pull you close into a dance, still covered in batter and condiments, cousin the two of you to laugh and giggle loud, almost sounding crazy. Well, that was at least what Mikey’s brothers thought, as they came out of their rooms, all to the sound of you screaming a laugh as Mikey spun you around. The three turtles therefore peeked into the kitchen, their eyes widening at the scene before them. You and their youngest brother dancing around together, and even poking each other just to tease. Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael exchanged amused glances, wondering if they should intervene, but decided to stay out of it.

In the midst of the chaos, Michelangelo's attempts to salvage the meal became increasingly comical. He juggled vegetables, danced with a spatula, and even tried to perform a daring flip with the food-filled frying pan - all with a grin that never left his face.

But after several tries and fails, the two of you finally admitted defeat.

You sighed. "Maybe we should just order pizza. What do you think, Mikey?"

Michelangelo paused, a playful glint in his eyes. "Well, if that's what the kitchen gods want, who are we to refuse?"

And so, you and Mikey decided to order pizza instead, accepting the defeat in the kitchen with good humor.

As you and the turtles sat around the table, enjoying the familiar taste of their favorite takeout, Michelangelo's trademark cheerfulness filled the lair.

"Hey, at least we tried, right?" he grinned, holding up a slice of pizza triumphantly.

The night concluded with laughter, camaraderie, and the realization that sometimes the best memories are made in the midst of a cooking catastrophe. The turtles and you shared stories, jokes, and, of course, plenty of pizza, turning what could have been a disaster into a memorable and enjoyable experience. That was one of the many reasons you loved these boys. Especially Mikey, and his talent of turning the most frustrating moments into dance and laughter.

[ Mikey - Sanzu - Kakucho]

Warning: I don't consider this scary but idk maybe someone will find them scary so be aware if you are easily scared .

• Mikey

° Mikey came back home from a long business trip with bonten and he expected to be met with his son jumping in his arms giving him a hug but he was met with silence when he got home .

° You greeted him and gave him a warm hug and then he asked about your son and you said he was playing with his 'friend' in his room while giggling.

° Mikey didn't know why you were giggling but he brushed it off .

° " You know how I hate when s/n brings his friends over they always make a mess " Mikey took off his Jacket and went to his son's room to greet him and his friend but once he opened the door he only saw s/n .

° " DAD YOU ARE BACK ! " Mikey was confused but still greeted your happy son back and gave him a kiss on the cheek .

° " where is your friend ? mommy told me you had a friend over "

" He is here ! " S/n pointed at the bed and Mikey chuckled

° "beds can't be frie-"

" dad .... He is on the bed " Mikey stood frozen in his place with his son in his arms and slowly started backing away from the room and running to where you were sitting.

° " This place is haunted we are moving pack your bags "

" No Mikey it is just his imaginary friend"

" I AM NOT RISKING ENDING UP BEING THE NEXT INSPIRATION FOR A TRUE STORY HORROR FILM " .

° after a lot of convincing Mikey gave and stayed in the house but he didn't sleep he just stayed awake until he went to work the next morning and fell asleep in his office.

• Sanzu

° you left Sanzu with your daughter while you went to work , you gave instructions of what he is supposed to do and Sanzu told you not to worry .

° you kissed them goodbye and left and once the garage door opened and you came out and drove away your daughter excitingly took Sanzu's hand and dragged him with her to the basement.

° your daughter was giggling and Sanzu just stood confused in the middle of the basement where it was dark and it was filled with old stuff that hasn't been touched since you moved here .

° "What's funny ?"

" my friend wanted to meet you! "

" who-"

" she is behind you" like in horror movies Sanzu slowly turned his head around to look behind him and was met by a dark corner .

° " nah ah not today I am too high for this shit " he took your daughter in his arms and and sprint upstairs and locked the door .

° your daughter kept crying telling him he is mean and rude for treating her friend like that .

° After a few hours you were back, you couldn't find your daughter or husband so you got worried until you heard your husband yelling " IF YOU ARE MY WIFE COME TO THE KITCHEN IF YOU ARE NOT THEN BE WARE I HAVE A GUN ".

° you ran to the kitchen and saw your daughter sleeping on the floor with a blanket on top of her and your husband with a jar full with pickle juice.

° " WHAT IS HAPPENING?! And why are you holding a jar filled with pickle juice?!!!!"

° " YOUR DAUGHTER CAN SEE GHOSTSSS ....... Does that mean she is possessed...... AHHHHHH " Sanzu started spraying pickle juice at your daughter who woke up confused .

° Turns out Sanzu couldn't find any holy water and the closest thing that can sting on the skin is pickle juice 💀💀.

° Sanzu got scolded so bad that he sulked and stayed in the kitchen all night with his pickle juice saying "don't come to me crying when a ghost eats your legs" .

• Kakucho

° kakucho doesn't believe in ghosts and always laughs when his daughter mention her imaginary friends but today was different.

° you were out getting groceries while kakucho stayed Home with your daughter, she sat in front of him on the floor playing with her dolls while he read some important papers on the couch .

° From time to time he would look at her and she would be already looking at him .... well not exactly at him but behind him and this time she didn't blink for a long time .

° " is there's something wrong honey ? "

" Behind you " Kakucho immediately knew it was one of his daughter's imaginary friends and chuckled .

° " Tell them I said Hi "

" He Said he miss you"

" What- "

" His name is Izana "

° Kakucho felt his heart drop because he never mentioned izana in front of you before not even once so how did you know him ?

° " How does he look like "

" Lilac eyes and white hair with Earrings dangling from both of his Ears "

° Kakucho turned around so fast that he almost got a whiplash and there was nothing behind him he looked at D/n and then back behind him before slowly getting up .

° " You are just tired honey let me put in bed "

Kakucho carried her and tucked her in bed before going back to the living room and looked around before sighing.

° " I think I am losing my mind " Before kakucho can take his papers and go somewhere else the room light flickered .

They got home after Mike and M/n were shopping for a bit of food and drinks. Michael didn’t have much anymore and really had to watch the price tags. Max told him that food was still left over and warm and that Abby didn’t eat yet, which Mike decided to take care of.

After a while he came back out, utterly defeated.

“She still refused ?”, M/n asked.

“She keeps talking about her imaginary friends...”, Mike sighed out and sat down on the couch.

“I should probably leave.”, Max said.

“No, no. The three of us have to discuss something before you leave, Max, but first, let me try to convince Abby to eat...”, M/n said and left.

“Good luck.”, Mike called after him.

M/n entered Abby’s room soon enough and looked over her shoulder at the drawing, she was working on.

“I don’t want to eat right now.”, she informed M/n.

“Abby, please eat now. Your drawing isn’t going to run away from you, but your food will get cold and then it will taste bad.”, M/n told her softly.

“We can make new food.”

“Abby...we can’t.”

“What do you mean ?”, Abby asked.

“Oh dear, how do I explain this... Mikey lost his job and with that you don’t get any money right now. It means you are unable to get more food and drinks, like stuff to draw on. Mikey and I are looking for another job for him already, right now, but until then, PLEASE just eat when you are told to eat, yes ? You worry Mikey and me with your habit to starve until you are done drawing.”

Abby looked at her drawing, then at M/n and then at her bed. She seemed like she listened to someone talking. Then she looked at M/n again.

“My friend said that Mike is stupid. He said that if kids don’t eat properly, they will stop growing.”, Abby told M/n.

M/n looked at her and frowned.

“But that is true. If you don’t eat and sleep properly until a certain age, you stop growing sooner and stay small for the rest of your life.”

“How is that possible ? That sounds stupid.”, Abby asked.

“Well, I mean when you are older, you will learn about that in school, but food and sleep are very important to our bodies and our systems. Our immune System gets strengthened when we eat Vegetables and fruit and bread and when we get sick our immune System develops, to deal with it better next time. Our body grows thanks to sleep and the food, we consume. Healthy food. It has a lot of protein, Vitamins and minerals.”

“And how is that getting into our body ?”, she asked confused.

She got up and M/n walked with her to the living room.

“Hm, well, what we drink and eat comes out of us too. That is why we go to the bathroom and need to take daily dumps.”

“Eww...”, she said grossed out.

“It is all natural. Every living being does that. Our digesting System does the rest for us, I suppose. It pulls out all the important minerals, vitamins and protein it needs and then another part of our body works it over and it ends up in our blood, while the unnecessary stuff, gets washed out of us and into the toilet. So a lot of it does our stomach.”

“What if I don’t drink enough ?”, she asked.

“You will get thirsty and your thirst will be too much for your stomach to handle. Your throat will scream endlessly for water, while your stomach begs you to stop, that is why Mike tells you to drink enough and why he tells you that you didn’t drink enough at certain days. Our body is mostly made out of water and our organs need a lot of it too. And when you are sick and drink a lot, there is a high possibility that you get healthy quickly, with a lot of resting, of course.”

“Why even is our body tired, when we are sick ?”

M/n grabbed a plate and put the Macaroni and Cheese on it, not all of it, but enough for Abby to eat. Mike needed food too. While he piled the plate he explained.

“Because it focuses all its energy against the thing that harms us. A disease is always a small virus and our immune System is there to destroy it as fast as possible, with that it focuses all your energy on healing and getting better, that’s why you are always so tired after. The disease you have, that the body fights off, can only leave, when you wash your body out, in other words, drink a lot and sleep and go to the bathroom. Fresh air and a bit of movement is also very good when you are sick, with that you strengthen your body to be stronger next time you are sick.”

Then he gave her the plate and they sat down on the couch. Mike stared at M/n impressed. When M/n talks about something, even the most boring thing, he can make it sound very interesting.

“Huh...”, Abby replied.

“Our body is full of wonders. Kids your age still need nap times and a lot of sleep, to get stronger and to grow properly, that is why Mike and the other adults are so mean to you and tell you what to do. And no, in fast food is nothing healthy for your body. Some bit of salad is not enough. Too much meat is bad, too much sweets is bad, too much fried things is bad. You need everything balanced, for your body. I am not saying that eating any of it is harmful, but too much of it, will harm you. Too much sweets, you will suffer with stomach aches, too much eggs, same thing and you will fart a lot.”

“Eww !”, she giggled out.

M/n chuckled and looked at her with a small smile.

“Everything needs to be balanced, Abby, dear. Otherwise, everything comes crashing down on you one day and then you will regret a lot, but can’t do anything to change it anymore.”

She was quiet at that and looked at M/n.

“From where do you know all of this ?”, she asked.

M/n chuckled.

“My Mother was quite small. She was short, a head shorter than an average sized woman was, her hands were small, her fingers short and her feet the same. She forced me to eat healthily. Three to four times a day and a lot of fruits and vegetables and she forced me to sleep a lot. I hated her as a child for it, until she explained to me one day why she did it. She rebelled against her parents too, when she was my age and...that was the outcome for her. She was small, weak and she hated her feet and hands. She always called them Baby hands and baby feet, because they were so small. When she properly slept and ate, she had quick growing spurts, but as she rebelled...she stopped growing and she regretted it deeply, that’s why she forced me. That’s why Mike wants you to listen and do as you are told. So you won’t end up like that.”

Everyone stared and he had a wobbly smile on his face, silent tears running down his face.

“She couldn’t even change a light bulb that was over her head, because she was too short, always needed a ladder.”, he got out with a voice, thick with emotion.

The three stared at him.

“I was gone for only two days and I saw her dead on the stairs with that cursed ladder fallen over and the light bulb shattered on the floor.”, he sobbed out.

At that all six eyes were ripped wide open. That’s how his Mother died three years ago ! The ladder fell over with her on top, she fell and hit the stairs, breaking her neck in the process.

“Oh god...M/n...”, Mike got out and hugged him from the side.

Max took the other and stroked his hair, while he sobbed. Abby left her food alone and got on M/n’s lap, hugging him from the front tightly. He hugged her back, while he calmed down. No need to start wailing again like a three year old. For fucks sake he was 25 years old !

“I don’t want the same to happen to you, Abby. One day you will be all grown up and you will want to be independent from Mike and me. How are you supposed to, if you are too small to reach anything alone ? One day Mike might not even be there anymore, for you and what then ? Who will help you ?”, M/n asked, voice emotional, but not hiccupping.

“I understand, M/n. I will...listen more to Mike...”, Abby replied.

“But only about sleep and eating, right ?”, he sniffed out a joke.

She giggled and nodded.

“Only on that.”, she confirmed.

“Eh, at least something, Abbs.”, Mike replied with a smile in his voice.

Then they parted and Abby continued to eat.

“So what did we need to talk about ?”, Max asked.

“Mike has his eyes on a certain job. But he can only get the Nightshift. Do you think you can babysit at night ?”, M/n asked softly.

She looked at Mike at that.

“Really ?”, she asked surprised.

“Yes. I would take the job, but I wanted you to have time to either accept or decline babysitting.”, Michael replied.

“Let me think about it for a bit.”, Max replied softly.

“Okay.”, Mike replied.

With that Max took her stuff and left. M/n waited for a while and then scoffed.

“I still don’t trust her.”

“M/n-“

“Mike she is acting fishy.”, M/n interrupted him, before he could defend Max again.

He sighed and leaned back. M/n rubbed his eyes and then got up.

“Eat something Mike. I will drive home now and we will see each other tomorrow, okay ?”, M/n asked.

Michael nodded.

“Be careful on your way home, yeah ?”

“I will be.”

With that M/n left and drove home in his own car.

-The next day-

Abby was drawing outside of the building Mike and M/n were in. The Social Services department, a woman always talks with Abby and the woman then talks to both Mike and Jane about it all.

“Just look at my Nephew. It is barely 10:00 and he can barely keep his eyes open.”, Jane said.

M/n turned to her.

“He didn’t sleep well tonight, so what ? As if you always get out of bed full with energy, woman.”, he argued back and stuck his tongue out at her.

“You keep your nose out of this.”, she said back.

“You aren’t my Mother, so you have to suck it up. How long and how often do you wanna pull the same show now ? You aren’t gonna get what you want, like always. Why do you still bother ?”

“After what this man did to that poor family Father, I am thinking mostly of Abby now.”

“If the child would have been kidnapped, like Mike thought, by the way the man DRAGGED and TORE the kid away, and he wouldn’t have done anything, you would sit here now and say ‘THAT POOR CHILD, LOOK HOW IRRISPONSIBLE HE IS.’. So how about you shut up ? It was a misunderstanding and Mike already got scolded, it’s not like he killed someone. It looked like the kid was about to get kidnapped, Mike misunderstood the situation and jumped in to protect a defenseless kid. My god, such things happen some times. You make a big show out of this. We all know Mike is not abusive to Abby.”

Jane scoffed and then had a scowl on her face, directed at M/n.

“As if you would know.”, she snapped at him.

“I do know so in fact. I am there every day. I watch Mike the whole time. I KNOW what is happening in that house and I have a recording of how the kid got DRAGGED by his so called Father. I have all the evidence I need. Where is yours, that Mike is abusive and bad for Abby ? He takes any job he can get and works his ass off for her and himself. Yes, he is tired, but he has more problems than your primadonna girl ass. Keyword: BILLS. Wow ! Ever heard of BILLS ? Cool, now shut up and stop annoying us.”

She glared at him and then at the woman worker.

“Look at the disrespect he has towards his elders.”, she accused.

“MY elders ? Woman, you act like a 12 year old, each time we are here. You put up a drama show and then expect to get what you want. We KNOW that you fake it. Stop being so fake and be an actual aunt that LOVES and CHERISHES BOTH of her Sister’s children, the only Family, by the way, that you still HAVE, you single, old fossil !”

She stared at M/n with an agape mouth.

“Honestly that is all you do, make a scene from the smallest things and then try to make everyone believe that Mike is the bad guy, no matter what he does, no matter how hard he tries. You want me to respect my elders, then you should respect YOUR younger generation first. They are, quite literally, YOUR future. You already made Mike not like you and Abby isn’t fond of you either, so maybe accept defeat, take the last few remains of dignity that you still have left and leave them both alone.”

“You bratty little-“

“You are the brat here, woman. Both of them want NOTHING to do with you and you just CAN’T leave them both be. You want to rip siblings apart for a stupid paycheck ! How stupid do you think we are ?!”, M/n yelled at her now.

Jane put a hand on her chest.

“How can you say something like that ?”, she said offended.

“Woman, I know how you tick ! We all know that you are faking it ! God...just why the heck do you think NOBODY likes you ?!”

“I think we should all calm down now.”, the social services worker said softly.

M/n took a deep breath and looked at her, away from Jane.

“I’m terribly sorry that she gets on my nerves. This outburst won’t happen again.”, M/n said, calm again.

“It is quite alright, M/n. You just said, what you felt. That is healthy.”

“Just like a child drawing all the time and seeing magical creatures that don’t even exist ?!”, Jane yelled.

M/n’s glare hardened and he was close to snap again. He took a deep breath and then looked at that annoying Bitch again, wishing her a brutal death already in his head.

“Abby is a child and children have a wild imagination. She is an active child and it is completely normal for her. She will grow out of it.”

Jane scoffed and gave him a nasty smirk.

“Like you did ? You still talk to yourself.”, she snapped back.

M/n’s glare intensified.

“Only when I am frustrated and usually I talk to objects then. Like when I am angry and my pen falls from the desk, then I say: ‘Of course, fall down, not like I need you Bitch, I have other pens too.’ And grab then another one. It is entirely normal.”

She laughed without humor.

“As if !”

“It is called letting steam off. Now shut up and leave me alone.”, M/n replied with a smirk and turned to Mike, who was just hoping that this meeting will be over soon.

“This is ridiculous... Abby needs to get away from them, this has been going on for long enough. Doug.”

Her lawyer didn’t react.

“Doug !”, she called.

He snapped out of it and gave Mike a pile of papers, on the front stood “Family Court Matter”. M/n wanted to laugh and planned her death, even though, he knew that he can’t kill her. He was no murderer, nor did he have the skills to be one.

“This is the only right thing to do and deep in your heart you know it too, Mike. You are unfit to raise a child.”, Jane said.

“And what if I don’t sign them ?”, Mike asked.

“Then me and my lawyer will drag you to court and they will take care that you will see your Sister never again. Do you want that ?”

Mike looked at the paper. M/n leaned over to his ear.

“I will find a way to get her to lose, don’t worry about it, Mikey.”

He looked at his friend and just nodded softly, then Jane and Doug left and Mike, M/n and the social services worker went to the hall, watching Abby from a window, while they talked.

“She just wants the monthly paycheck, this is not about Abby.”, Mike said.

“Of course it is not. She could take care of the both of you, she is your aunt too, but she refuses. She is very fixed on Abby and taking her away, no matter what, doesn’t matter if Abby said a million times already that she hates her. Any normal thinking person would have left you and Abby alone after that. If it would be about Abby, she would respect her wishes, which, spoiler alert: she doesn’t.”, M/n replied annoyed.

The woman looked at them and they chatted for a while longer. That Mike was important to Abby, that drawings are very important to children and that she definitely loves him the most, which made M/n smile.

“See ? Your Sister loves you in her own special way.”, M/n chuckled out.

“Yeah. But my aunt is right...no one would let me keep my Sister.”, Mike stated saddened.

“Did you already find a new job ?”, the woman asked.

He looked at her and was hesitant.

“He had one offered, but the Babysitter needs to give a reply, so we can arrange everything, before he takes the job.”, M/n answered for him.

She looked at M/n and nodded with a smile.

“It always gives you extra points, if you have a job.”, she told them and then sent them off, wishing them a great day.

Then they grabbed Abby and drove home. As they parked at their home, Mike received a call from Max and he picked it up.

“Hey, have you decided yet ?”, Mike asked.

There was silence for a second, then a relieved sigh.

“Thank you so much, Max. Yes, yes. I promise, as soon as I can, I will repay you.”, Mike replied and then hung up.

“So I’m guessing she will watch Abby at nights.”, M/n concluded.

“Yes, she will.”

Why the twins abandoned Draxum

Ok, i promised more Imaginary Friend content, and i am here to deliver!

this is a little more of the plot side of things rather than the shenanigans.

i'll put it under the cut since it's long. again.

Ok, so they sneak out to meet with Mikey and Raph for about three years before Draxum realizes what's going on. (or part of what's going on. He knows they have been sneaking out and the caretaker hasn't been doing his job properly, but he doesn't know they were sneakign out to meet, or even who they were meeting.)

Upon finding this out, the caretaker is fired and Draxum decides that, if they are competent enough to constantly leave the house on their own and come back fine, they are competent enough to be properly trained. This means they no longer have the opportunity to sneak out.

Mikey and Raph try to reach out to them via mind meld, but it's too far for a strong enough connection to communicate, not to mention the twins keep purposefully shutting them out. the twins figure that since they can no longer meet up with them, that It's better to cut themselves off completely now than continuing to long for a time, they believe, is gone.

It's two more years before they meet again, and it's on accident.

When Mayhem stole the emperium, Draxum sent the twins to fetch it, treating it as a test.

They're sent out to fetch the emperium, and, of course, run into Mikey and Raph (and April). It's very much a surprise, especially considering they're standing between them and their mission. They're careful not to hurt their siblings but do get Mayhem away Donnie sending Mikey a quick "do not follow us. it's dangerous" mind meld message before they nope on out through Leo's portal. a portal that both April and the soon-to-be imitation crab man go through before it closes.

They appear right in the middle of the lab so neither of the twins quite realize they have stowaways until it's too late. They recognize April as one of Mikey and Raph's friends and figure it's not a good idea for Draxum to realize she's there, so they hide her in a nearby closet before Draxum can notice, miming for her to stay quiet. once Draxum leaves again, Leo portals her back out of the building (he's aiming for topside but ends up just setting her down on their front porch for Mikey and Raph to find.)

Anyways! Mikey and Raph (and April) show up like canon, and, of course Draxum is seeing stars. It's the other two. He could have a full set once again! but they prove to be difficult to coerce into joining him, so he creates that vine monster to fight them (and test them while they're at it.) He sends Leo and Donnie after them as well, but they linger, choosing halfheartedly fight April rather than their brothers. That is, until Mikey ends up weaponless and the target of an attack that could hurt him.

Then the above happens. Donnie instinctively protects Mikey, which angers Draxum, which causes Leo to portal Donnie behind him so he's away from him, and, then they defect, choosing to get their brothers, April, and Mayhem out of the soon-to-explode lab rather than continue fighting.

but yeah, that's how they get away from Draxum. The power of little brother in peril lol.

(fun fact i'm just coming up with now (but have been thinking about) Draxum was super extra dramatic when he named the twins originally. He named them Thanatos and Somnus. though neither of them really acknowledge those names b/c they so rarely heard them growing up. Literally only Draxum used them. which is why when Mikey asked thier names, they just shrugged. Why is that Draxum beign extra, b/c those are the twin personifications of death and sleep respectively (though Somnus is technically the Roman name. but since Somnus's Greek name is Hypnos, i thought it would be too confusing.) also, according to Greek Mythology, Thanatos and Hypnos are the twin sons of Nyx (goddess of night) and Erebus (god of the dark). SO yes, Draxum was being dramatic AF and named a set of twins he was going to train to be ninja warriors, after the mythological twins born to night and darkness. and who also embody death and sleep. (this also gives me a good excuse to jokingly call the twins the Myth Twins, even though the aus staying named Mikey's imaginary Friends. lol))

Mikey is a helper

Plain and simple, he was raised to be that way partly because of Raph (in my humble opinion) but mainly because that’s just who Mikey is as a person, he’s kind <3

If the two of you are friends and he sees you not doing so well in a crowd, say at a party. Lots of people, dim atmosphere, flashing lights. He would approach you carefully, making sure he’s grabbing your attention by waving his hands

“Hey, are you alright? Wanna take a breather with me outside?” He’s immediately offering up an exit from the situation. If you say no, he’s sticking by your side! Not in an uncomfortable way, but just in case you need him. Plus he’s a great conversationalist & dancer so it’s a win-win

If you say yes he’s leading the way, holding out his arm/hand for you to take if you are comfortable enough. Plus he wouldn’t want to lose you in the crowd, he doesn’t force his touch though.

He’d only do that if he felt like he had to protect you from something. Like someone dancing a little too obnoxiously, big movements, taking up too much space and almost hitting you as you try to pass by, he’ll get into your personal space so he can make sure you don’t get hit, he’ll act as your barrier

It doesn’t matter if he’s smaller/shorter, he shall make sure you don’t get hit one way or another. Even if that means pulling you close just in the nick of time! Once outside he’s talking a lot, his voice is light trying to distract you from your inner turmoil or if the two of you are close friends he would ask if you wanted to talk about it

He is Dr. Feelings after all! Certified c; “Dr. Feelings ready to help!! Let’s start from the beginning!”

If the two of you are dating or on the more romantic side he’s much more willing to hold you close. Very much initiating contact right away.

“Everything okay? Is it a panic attack?” He knows your signs already so it’ll only take a certain look of confirmation or a small nod on your part to get him into action. He’s pulling you close into his plastron, rubbing soft circles into your back. Whispering sweet affirmations into your ear, swaying slightly back and forth, it may look like the two of you are just slow dancing in the middle of the party!

If it’s more serious he’s grabbing you by the hand, keeping you close to his side as he navigates the crowd to the nearest exit. Once outside he’s helping you regain control of your breathing. “Alright babe, in and out, c’mon baby do it with me, you can do it,” his tone is so warm, so caring. He’s worried about you!

Once you’re breathing is back to normal he’s asking if you want to talk about it, he mainly wants to know what triggered the attack <3 bc maybe he can watch out for those warnings in the future! He’s a thoughtful bf through and through, “Do you need some water? Something to snack on?”

If you get emotional or start to cry he’s got the saddest smile. He wants nothing more than to turn that frown upset down. He hated to see you cry! No crying!! But as Dr. Feelings he knows its healthy so he just tells you to let it out, “It’s okay, I’m here, I’m here with you angel”

Soft kisses on your cheeks, wiping away those salty tears, telling you how beautiful you are! Shooing away all the bad thoughts and all the negative energy. Quite literally being a little silly, flicking away imaginary bad vibes around your head, “Get away from my partner!!” “Don’t worry babe I’ll protect you!” *insert dramatic ninja skills here*

“Wanna head out? I’m down to do whatever you wanna do!” Again letting you decide what you rather do. Options!!! “We can head home and snuggle up? Movie marathon?? I’ll bake you some cookies <3”

Mikey’s a foodie soooo yeah he’s gonna try and settle that stomach of yours. You want soup? Done! You want sweets? He’s baking! You want a full course meal? Well.. that may take the rest of the night cause you know this turtle is an overachiever but he’s absolutely whipping it up in the kitchen for you

Ok so i've got something that yall would probably hate me for. But ive been holding this simmering pot of angst for a while and the first thing i was taught is to share, so suffer with me.

New ROTTMNT AU:

Rather than being the only one out of his brothers to survive in the no-good-very-bad-horrible future, Leo is the only brother who dies.

Okay okay okay.

But i personally like to think that after the krang come out everything goes to shit in the bad timeline everyone goes oh fuck and start teaming up right? Human yokai cryptids mutants– none of that matters as long as you got eachothers back.

And after the initial stumbles the brothers start their active participation in the resistance.

Heres the thing.

Leo is genuinly terrifying at coming up with a plan. Kid went toe to toe with motherfucking Big Mama and came out victorious. Big Mama, as if the most terrifying yokai crime boss Big Mama. Kid came out with a smile. Its safe to say his strategies were incredibly effective and it kinda pissed off a couple of people.

Military dude 1: I can't believe i'm following a plan made by a 16 yo mutanat turtle.

Military dude 2: Your just upset the kid called out all the flaws your plan had in less than 2 seconds flat.

But the one pissed off the most were the krang. This tiny insignificant insect was able to somehow keep the resistance 3 steps ahead. So naturally, they went to take him down first.

It took a while but eventually they managed to isolate Leo. His brothers were fighting up a storm but the krang got too much and so they had to leave. Without Leo.

About a week later which involved a lot of crying and screaming, the krang brodacast a live footage of torturing Leo (my boi) before krangyfying (did i spell that right) him.

And now the krang have leo on their side. Leo, who knows everything there is to know abt the resistance (hes a gossipy bitch but thats only cuz its important to have the intel) so they are in deep shit now.

And he was a zombie for a while guys. Fighting against him always had people dying and his fam having a mental breakdown.

Eventually they take him down, but at what cost. (One of the brothers killed him. cuz angst. And now the question is who is the MOST angst) Also, Leo is the first person to die in the resistance. (Ouch)

Casey rools up and has no fucking clue who Leo is (ouch) or why his mom wanted him to take up the role as Casey's dad (HC: Cass took one look at tge record of Leo's victories against his brothers in the lair games, strategy skills and medical knowledge; and declared that he would be Casey jr.'s father. Leo was incredibly touched)

But for some reason. For soME FUCKING REASON. Kid is so much like Leo its scary. His family is near tears everytime they see him act like that. That one time he made a shitty pun and Donnie started crying.

Well its probably due to the blue imaginary friend he has that he calls Bluey. Yes we're going towards that direction. His everything comes from being influenced by the cool older brother figure he has as an imaginary friend. (Cuz of ✨Mystic Shenanigans✨ Bluey is still stuck here. Mikey is the only one who can also see him. But he cant. Cuz hes depressed)

Also without Mr. A-Ninja's-Greatest-Weapon-Is-Hope I feel like shit gets really depressing in the resistance. Everyones sad. Baby casey is sad to see everyone sad. So he asks Bluey's help and picks up his general style of humor. Angst shenanigans.

And. AND. AND. During the whole peepaws time travel back after the movie montage (I am a aimple woman w/ simple need) these depressed hunks see this tiny version of their blue brother still covered in bandages and not fully healed from the krangvasion, and their immediete reaction? Protecc.

Leo is confused abt a lot of things. The future version of his brothers that got spat out of nowhere. Casey and how that worked w/ their Casey. The blue projection of HIS angsty future self (who is pretty cool btw). PTSD. You know, the works. At this point my guy is just vibing, and honestly? The story picks up a pretty chill pace from there. Its all abt healing now baby.

So thats the rough outline of the au. And it might sound like a fucking add but heres more abt this silly little idea that came from my silly little head. -> You'll (Never) Never Be Alone

It was sad because they helped me throughout elementary school because I had no friends and they stuck with me throughout the 7 years. I made the decision because I wanted to start new since I’m starting high school. I miss them a lot, and I need some comfort. (Still crying a bit)
