are there any youtube channels you like watching for japanese studies?

Yeah I have some recommendations. I break my language stuff into study purposes and entertainment purposes. So channels I watch explicitly for studying and reviewing grammar rules and note taking and channels I watch for fun and laidback listening practice.

Because I think a mixture of both are pretty important for my own progress. Sometimes I am in the mood to study and other times I can't really bothered whether it be because I'm busy or lazy.

Honestly, just about anything or anyone will do in this section as long as you find someone you like personally. But here are some stand out channels I enjoy watching/listening to.

じんむ - ACNH youtuber primarily but you'll see her playing other games like the Suika game.

マフィア梶田と中村悠一の「わしゃがなTV」 - a channel ran by Mafia Kajita and Nakamura Yuuichi (JP voice actor for Gojou Satoru, Gray Fullbuster, Sohma Shigure in Furuba 2019). They do a lot of things related to card games, video game streams, and things like that. They usually have JP subtitles on the screen.

梶裕貴 - the channel ran by Japanese VA Kaji Yuki (Eren Jaeger, Todoroki Shouto). I love when he plays visual novels he voices in, he's pretty hilarious.

ひかりん♂🍡- now these aren't actually the JJK VAs but people who are mimicking the voices. But they're pretty fucking funny and they play in character, so I enjoy watching their content. They have shortform and long form videos for your amusement. Usually they have JP subtitles on the screen.

良平は酒飲みながらゲームしたい。- Kimura Ryohei's (HQ Bokuto, Childe from Genshin, that blond dude from Kuroko no Basket) official channel. He's been streaming a lot of Genshin lately.

Tbh a lot of VAs seem to have channels, so I'd try looking them up. These are the ones that I've been watching most lately or tend to get a lot of notifs for.

Gruvia day 2019!!!

Ahhhh it’s Gruvia day today and I had no idea! So of course I had to write something for my fav pair.

As the “Gruvia Goddess” (title given by the lovely @fairywithajetblackheart) I wanted to do something cute and fluffy this time. I will relieve y’all of angst...for now.

Also this features the Fullbuster fam plus my oc daughter named Miku who I think I’ve written for before.

The sun was shining all over the city and it truly was a picture perfect summers day. With the new generation being brought up, days like this where the family could relax and play together quietly without the rustle and bustle of the guild were rare for the Fullbuster family.

“Higher mommy! Higher!” Miku giggled as Juvia smiled and pulled the swing back to push her four year old daughter.

“Up into the clouds little one!” Juvia laughed and even formed a little shower over them and a rainbow appeared.

Mikus dark brown eyes became entranced by her mother’s magic. Her bright blue hair that was gifted primarily from her mother was tied into the cutest pigtails and bobbed up and down as she was pushed higher.

Sitting on the porch was Gray. Relaxing with a drink in his hand, he watched his wife dance and play with their expressive little girl.

“Hey dad?” Silver called as he walked outside with a folder in his hand. “Could you help me with a project?”

“Project? School hasn’t even started yet and Levy already started homework?” Gray shook his head as Silver sat next to him and placed his folder on the glass table.

“It’s extra credit.” Silver shrugged. “Normally I wouldn’t care to do it but Nashi and I are in the same class again and I have to start the year with better grades.”

Gray let out a laugh as he recalled that the Fullbuster and Dragneel feud still lived on through their children, something he wasn’t entirely sure he was proud of.

“Alright. What kind of assignment!”

“Well it’s like a presentation of you life. You can choose a certain aspect to focus on and I decided that you and mom were my best option.”

“Really? Doing a project on your old man?” Gray smiled smugly. Silver rolled his eyes and blew his deep blue fringe out from his face.

“Yeah, yeah. I wanted to know how you met.”

“You know how we met. Your mother and I fought, I saved her life, she joined the guild and bam! You were born.” He winked and Silvers face twisted in disgust.

“Okay, gross. But no. I wanted to know how you knew you loved her, I already asked mom and she gave me a super long list of literally every aspect of you.” He pulled out a paper and true to his word, the entire thing was filled with Juvias responses and also another paragraph about how much she loved him.

Gray could feel his heart speed up as he quickly raked his eyes over them.

“Well for starters Juvia is extremely kind and loving. She is the most devoted and self sacrificing woman I have ever met-“

“No” Silver stopped him. “I want the moment you knew you loved her. What was the defying moment that changed you and you knew that every second moving forward, you love her?” He asked.

Gray was taken back from his request. “Oh.” He started. “I didn’t realize you wanted this to be that deep.” His eyes then refocused on the woman playing with the blue haired girl in the sandbox.

He watched as she formed animals and shapes using her magic and the way her eyes lit up when their daughter giggled brought him back to the memorie.

“It was after an intense battle.” Gray started, his eyes still on Juvia. “I had just lost my father, again. There was so much pain in my heart as I was hunched over his grave in the snow. And then she came along. She told me that she didn’t have a right to love me anymore and that she would leave.” Silvers eyes widened. “And that’s when I knew.”

“I wasn’t lying when I said she is devoted. I’m lucky enough she waited for me to get my act together. When she came and stayed by my side, I knew she was forever.”

“So you knew mom was the one when Grandpa died?” Silver asked hesitantly.

“I knew I never wanted to leave her side from that moment but I think I fell in love with her on a different day.”

“Do tell.”

“It was raining. A terrible storm was pouring outside and I knew she wasn’t going to be too pleased. Water might be her element but before FairyTail, she hated the rain. So at this time we had just started dating, I was very new to the whole thing but your mom did everything in her power to make sure that I was alright. Nothing too fast, nothing too slow.”

“Sounds like mom wears the pants in the relationship.” Silver snorted and his father only shrugged.

“So instead of going inside to watch a movie. We sparred. She was now more confident with the rain as her past didn’t define her anymore. At first it was light and nothing more than kicks and punches.”

“You punched mom!” Silver yelled and Gray shushed him.

“We were sparring, it’s what you do. Now I knew I was going to be struggling since it was raining but I didn’t know how powerful she was going to be. Your mom used her magic to water lock me. She pinned me to the ground, raised my chin and said-“

“Juvias got you right where she wants you.”

The boys turned around to see Juvia holding a sleepy Miku.

“You. You pinned dad to the ground and that’s when he fell in love!” Silver said in disbelief.

“What can I say. She took my breath away.”

“Literally, your father passed out after he told me he loved me.” Juvia smiled sheepishly.

“Wow.” Silver stated and Gray nodded.

“Silver honey, will you take your sister and lay her down in her crib.” Juvia said as she passed her daughter to her son.

He took his sister kindly and went inside. “It’s funny darling.” Juvia giggled as she took a seat on her husbands lap. “Juvia doesn’t believe that was the day, or have you been lying to me?” She pouted playfully.

“You know damn well the moment I fell in love with you is when you sent Natsus ass flying.”

Juvias face deadpanned as she glared at her husband and raised an eyebrow.

“Okay okay!” He smirked and kissed her hand. “It was during the Grand Magic Games, when we went on our date.”

“Juvia remembers.” She whispered softly.

“And we were alone.” His fingers trailed up her arms. “And I remember what you were wearing or specifically what you weren’t wearing.” He winked and he could hear her breathing hitch. “And how beautiful you were as my name left your lips.”

In that moment she captured his lips and kissed him slowly. Even after years of marriage and kids, the spark between them roared like an eternal flame.

“Juvia likes that story so much more.” Her forehead pressed against his and he agreed.

“Well I wasn’t going to tell our son that.” He laughed and pecked her lips again.

Suddenly a dangerous spark gleamed in her blue eyes. “Silver! Pack a bag you’re staying at your staying at Aunt Lucy’s house!” Juvia called without taking her eyes off her husband.

The porch door opened and they turned to see a bruiting Silver. “You guys are gross.”

His parents let out a laugh as their teenage son grumbled as he stormed back into the house.

“Oh he’s so cute when he’s mad.” Juvia cooed over her baby boy.

“Yeah but you’re cuter.” He nuzzled her cheek. “And I love you.”

Juvia batted her eyelashes and titled his chin with her finger. “I love you too.”

2. What was the first anime you’ve ever watched?

Either Princess Tutu or Squid Girl! Princess Tutu is so good though and very underrated, so I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a new anime to watch! It’s pretty old, like early 2000′s, but the plot gets really good as the story progresses and there are just!! So many interesting concepts in it!!

3. What was your first anime crush?

Rue from Princess Tutu, Chizuru (I think that was her name?) from Squid Girl, or Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail!! I really can’t remember honestly

7. Dub or sub?

I usually prefer sub, but there are some anime I initially watched in dub and so I prefer it that way (like Soul Eater and Fairy Tail!). Also, some anime sound the same to me either way, like Death Note, so I can watch either really!

8. What’s your favorite opening song to an anime?

OOF THAT’S SO HARD TO CHOOSE... I’ve always loved the Death Note, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Blue Exorcist, Tokyo Ghoul, Attack on Titan, Vampire Knight, One Punch Man, and Mirai Nikki openings, among endless others aha but I seriously.... Love so many anime openings I have them downloaded on my phone... OH AND THE DEATH PARADE OPENING TOO!!

9. What’s your favorite ending song to an anime?

NOW THIS ONE IS EASY! The first Death Note ending is so good, not only the music but the ending animation will always hold a place in my heart.

12. Do you binge-watch your anime, or take breaks?

Mostly I binge like, half of it, take a break and then forget to ever finish it honestly.The list of anime I need to finish is... Endless...

13. Do you prefer manga to anime, or vice versa?

I don’t have the money to buy the books, so I usually watch the anime! But I did read the Another manga and I still need to watch the anime;;

21. If you could spend an entire day with one anime character, who would it be?

Hard question oof,,, Naegi and Asahina seem nice to be around but so do Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki?? And Ahiru/Duck!!

23. What is your favorite anime pairing, or ship?

I have so many but I’ll try to keep this short: Nae.Gami, Mado.Saya, Kawo.Shin, Yuki.Se, Koma.Hina, Kid.Ma, Rin.Shie, Sai.Genos, and uhh Law.Light!! There are so many more but yknow... If I listed all of them it’d be 5 pages long

26. What’s your favorite anime soundtrack?

DEATH NOTE!! I LOVE IT,,

30. What is your guilty pleasure anime?

Oof uh I dunno if any of them would be considered guilty pleasures? Probably Rosario + Vampire if anything but I don’t watch it anymore rip

YEAH! PMMM was a lot different than I expected, and honestly the story and plot twists in Princess Tutu surprised me!!

Death Note made me question my morals honestly?? And honestly NGE made me question, like, everything...

45. Have you ever binged an anime all night?

YES! One of my friends slept over last year and we watched Seven Deadly Sins all night, and even went over to her house to finish the last few episodes!

46. Do you write fanfiction for your anime, if so, what anime?

YEAH!! Mostly Danganronpa, but i’m planning a Little Witch Academia fic, and I’m considering re-writing my old Soul Eater fanfic.

Also Gruvia’s daughters name is Miku because it means beautiful sky in Japanese and i think that fit really well since their love cleared Juvia’s rain.

Gifts, cookies, songs and lot of candy canes had spread through the town as the it was covered in a thick blanket of snow. It was a perfect start to the holidays.

“Gray-sama are you ready to go to the guild?” Juvia called as she bounced her three year old, Silver, on her hips.

“Yeah I just had to finish changing Miku” Gray said as he came out of the nursery with the blue haired one year old.

The little girl babbled as she pulled on her dads silver chain and Juvia beamed at her perfectly little family.

“Okay let's go! I’m sure Luna will be happy to see Silver.” She cooed at her boy as he pouted.

“Silver is a big boy mommy, I can walk on my own.” the three year old pouted and Juvia kissed his cheeks and set him down.

“If Silver wants to walk then Juvia will allow if she gets to hold his hand.” Silver nodded and grabbed his mothers hand as they walked outside.

“Hey it’s cold outside. At least wear a jacket.” Gray fussed and Juvia looked down to see that she was in a tank top and shorts as if it were summer.

“It has appeared that Juvia has gotten us to the cold, but she will bring one just in case.” She kissed took the fluffy jacket from Gray and gave him as kiss as they walked to the guild.

Miku giggled as she watched the snow fall with her bright blue eyes her mother had given her and Gray tugged the woven beanie down to make sure his little girl didn’t get cold.

“To the guild!” Silver cheered and Juvia let go of his hand so he could skip along the path but Gray’s hand replaced his sons so she couldn’t complain.

The snow crunched under the little girls boots.

“Mama? Do you think I’m going to be a strong wizard like daddy?” Luna asked as she formed a deformed snowball for her snowman.  

Lucy looked up from her book and smiled. “Oh I think you will be stronger than him.”

“Really?” Luna gasped and Lucy nodded her head as Virgo popped up with a giant snowball for her favorite pink hair child.

“Miss Luna I made you a ball.”

“Thanks Virgo! We should wait until Silver gets here and then we can throw it at him!” Luna laughed and Virgo nodded and set it aside.

“Luna don’t use that huge ball, make some smaller ones. If you wanna throw that one, use it on Loke.” Lucy smiled and watched as Virgo and Luna's faces lighted up with mischief.

“So evil, that my Lucy.” Hot breath hit the back of Lucy’s neck and she knew instantly that her dragon slayer husband was behind her. His arms wrapped around her tightly as he placed a kiss to her cheek.

“Hey honey.” Lucy cooed and turned her head to kiss him on the lips and she smiled as she heard an ‘Eww’ come from her child. Natsu laughed and watched as Luna began a snowball fight with Loke and Virgo. He laughed as Loke went down dramatically after getting a light tap from a bundle of snow.

“Natsu?”

“Hmmm?”

“You can stop hugging me now.’ Lucy sang and Natsu took his hands off.

“Sorry love.’ he said and sat on the bench next to her and she instantly snuggled up to him.

“Much better” She hummed and took in his warmth.  

Soon the Fullbuster family came into view and Luna was quick to rush up to Silver.

“Silver! Do you wanna have a snowball fight with me?” Luna asked as she held a small ball in her gloved hats.

“Silver would like to play.” He smiled and chased after her.

“Lucy! How's the baby?” Juvia asked as she sat next to the blonde woman while their husbands ran towards the kids.

“Oh our little one is quite fussy these days but it's worth it in the end.” Lucy sighed and smiled as she rubbed her large baby bump.

“Well Juvia made some cookies that you were craving.” And the celestial mage gladly took the cinnamon cookies and plopped on in her mouth.

“Oh thank you Juvia!” Lucy almost cried. “Your mother is such a talent baker huh?” Lucy tapped on Miku’s nose as she gushed over the adorable baby girl.  

“Ohh stop Lucy, you are just as good. Those brownies are to die for.” Juvia laughed and she could almost taste the gooey treat in her mouth.

“I know, I baked you about twenty pans when you were having this one.” Miku babbled as she grabbed onto her aunts finger.

“Juvia wouldn’t be surprised if that is how many she had.” She shrugged and continued to bounce her little one of her leg.

“Mommy?” Luna came running up to her mom. “Daddy and Uncle Gray are doing it again.” She pointed and the women looked to see a huge snow fight taking place with Silver in the middle sitting on a block of ice.

Silver sat on the block, is feet dangling as he watched the snowballs fly back and forth.

“Daddy!” Silver screeched as one of the snowballs hit him in the face and he fell into the pile of snow. Natsu roared with laughter and silver began to whine.

Slowly the clouds above turned dark grey. Silver let out a cry as hail began to rain down, pelting the ground below.

“Uhhh Juvia?”

“Juvia sees. Luna would you be a dear and hold your cousin.” She passed Miku to Luna and rushed towards her boy as she tried to dodge the hail.

“Its okay Silver. Look! Daddy is fine.” Natsu pointed and Gray threw a hand in the air but was still down on the ground. Silvers eyes met his and darkened. He lifted his hand and formed and ice ball. “Uhh Silver?” Natsu’s eyes widened as he ran from the child but he was struck down by a chunk of ice.

“That's my boy.” Gray shouted and Juvia took him off the ice block.

“Mommy would be upset but you defended your dad. But we need to see about this hail. Silver? Did you cause it?’ Juvia asked and the little boy shrugged as she settled in his mom's arms.

“Hey your son just pelted me with ice.”

“Relax Natsu, don’t pick a fight with a child.” Lucy sighed as she took Miku out of her daughters hands and stood up. “Come on let's go have some coco inside. Good job Silver.” Lucy winked and walked inside with the Fullbuster baby and her two little ones.

“That sounds good. Gray-sama are you alright?” Juvia called and she dusted the back of Natsu off. “Sorry Natsu.” “No it's okay. You might have competition over who is more protective of Gray.” Natsu laughed and put Silver on his shoulders. “You got me good buddy, let me show you how to really aim!” Silver cheered and he was taken inside by his fire breathing uncle.

“Juvia.” Gray took his wife's hand, a concerned look was on his face. “Did our son make it hail just now?”

Juvia blinked and looked away. “Juvia believes so. But it has never happened when he was cried before. What should we do, it seems like he has gotten a piece of Juvia's curse.

“Well for starters, your rain was never a curse, just a bump in the road i would say. Even if he does have this ability we won’t shame him or treat him any differently. I love your rain and hey , we can live with a little hail.” He smiled and kissed her rosy cheeks. “Now let's go inside.”

She nodded and they joined the rest of their family in the warm guild hall.
