A convoy of three hundred military troops joined the elements of Mexico’s National Guard at the Tijuana International Airport, a stone throw away from the U.S-Mexico border on Saturday, August 13, 2022, in response to Friday’s simultaneous attacks on public transit and vehicles from armed crime organizations all over Baja California, 24 burned vehicles in the entire state, 15 in Tijuana alone. No deaths or victims were reported. Today is going to be a good day! repeat until we make it. This self discovery project helped me a lot these past few days because we are bombarded with lots of requirements. Now that I’m with my parents I am trying to maximize the time I have with them that brought me so much happiness. My relationship with my father is getting better and my mother.. my mother is a good person. She’s a patient mother and she’s funny. So I don’t have problem with her. 

Everyday I look forward to how my day is going to be. Because life and short and it is overwhelming how limited we are knowing there are so much to do. I mean being contented is a good thing but have you dreamt of being an astronaut? We have these things we want to accomplish yet we don’t have the resources to achieve them, I’m not saying that it is impossible but let’s face it that some of us are really limited. Including me. It is my dream to study in MIT or even in abroad because I want to learn engineering with MIT-type of environment. I want to know my full capacity and I’m really passionate about my course. We are all bound to do great things and for me, I want to use what I learn from my course to help our environment because environment degradation is evident nowadays. 

We are currently facing a crisis and it helped me to focus on the little things in life, not my ambitious self but my present situation. Now is important and if we missed the chance to live it properly, we may forget to appreciate the things that matter the most. I know that now everyone is privilege like me to have this comfortable life but I hope that we devote it with helping one another, lifting each other and loving even it is hard. Cruelty at this times is inevitable, killing is happening in my country and it make me helpless not doing anything. It is hard to see people suffer because of bad administration, not that I’m neglecting their efforts but we all deserve better. We are human deserving of protection and we all have moral rights with us. These policeman who are supposed to be the one who protects us blatantly kill a mentally challenged man in broad day life. As I watched the video I can’t help but to feel helpless.

This is not the time to pursue military actions like killing because people are already fighting for their lives and it will never help to succumb them; putting law and justice into their hands. I just hope that regardless of our current situation we may not forget to love one another and show compassion. Because each of us has battles not visible to naked eye. We are humans, undoubtedly, we commit mistakes but it is not an excuse to treat other people badly. I’m worried with upcoming days, our resources are getting limited. I don’t know if our government are still capable of supplying foods to less fortunate. 

With all these happening, my professors are still requiring us to submit assignments and other academic load. My anxiety is starting to arise because I don’t want to fail and waste the tuition fee my parents had a hard time to earn. I don’t understand why they are not yet freezing the semester given the pandemic currently happening. Are they thinking that we are having a good time here? We are not chilling, we are worried about our safety and the people around us. It is not easy to move knowing that there are people dying. The virus is unseen and all of us don’t have the assurance that we are safe against it. In addition, not all of us has stable internet access, we are not prepared for this pandemic and online classes. The students don’t have the equal opportunity because not of us are not born with silver spoon in our mouth. My parents are still working hard to supply for my needs. Please hear your students, if you dont want mass promotion just freeze the sem because we want to learn and we want quality education not just merely complying.
