After dinner, we proceeded to the basement level to do some grocery shopping. On the way out, we bought desserts at Nine Fresh (九鲜). I chose the Jellicious Cup (蜂蜜寒天三合一) with bean curd, grass jelly, ai-yu jelly, honey popping jelly, kantan jelly and taro balls. Mum had the Black Sugar Ai-Yu Jelly (招牌黑糖爱玉冻) with red bean, black pearl, milk ball and taro balls. Both cups of dessert cost S$3.80 each.

Hi welcome back! Sorry for not posting motivation kinda shit and creativity lost right now anyway.

Yes I will be reveling more lore and the stories of the Beast Lovers and the Beasts soon especially a certain plot point but...it's a special one I won't say right now😏 and im just waiting for Eternal Sugar Cookie and Silent Salt Cookie to realse so yeah it might take a bit but I will show more lore.

This is a Complicated thing to think about but this is something you guys will have to think or Speculate about for now.

The Beast's servants the Lovers old friends or families and maybe the witches.

Both...when it first came to when the Beast met their lovers it was private relationships but at one point the Beasts didn't care anymore and married their lovers and many were aware but also weren't.

Yes I am the only problem is I don't know how I'm going to tell the story either through drawings text fics or comics and I have many many things I want to share since this is going to be a storyline after all but I'm also afraid my story might come of as cringe or bad writing but in other words I want to have a storyline some wholesome things and some shitpost time to time.

Again I'm sorry I am not posting as much as I want to I really want to share more and it's hard when it comes to having lack of ideas and motivation but I'm going to try to get to post again and I'll try by posting a character introduction for my Beast Cookie OC tomorrow and then maybe make a short fic soon have a lovely day/night!

Chia Pudding Recipe

Berry Birthday Baba

Today is Dad's 65th Birthday, and as he is as fond of the dessert as Jules is, his cake was this beautifully boozy Berry Birthday Baba!!! It was so great to be together on this special day, and to see him get second and third helpings, too! Happy Sunday!

Ingredients (makes 1):

220 grams/8 ounces strong white flour

50 grams/1.75 ounce caster sugar

1 tablespoon active dry yeast

½ teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

¼ cup milk

100 grams/ 3.5 ounces unsalted butter, at room temperature

¼ cup demerara sugar

2 heaped tablespoons pure local honey

1 cup white rum

3/4 cup water

1/4 cup Mandarin Gin 

1/2 cup fresh blueberries

1/3 cup fresh raspberries

a few grapes fresh Red Currants (Gooseberries) 

½ cup double cream

In a large bowl, combine strong white flour, caster sugar, yeast and salt, making sure you don’t put the salt on top of the yeast, as it might kill it. Give a good stir; set aside.

In a smaller bowl, whisk the eggs and the milk together until well-blended.

With a wooden spoon, gradually stir egg mixture into flour mixture, until a soft, sticky dough forms. Tip dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead, a good 10 minutes, until dough becomes smoother. Then, gradually knead in softened butter, until you have an elastic, shiny dough. Return to the bowl, and cover with a tea towel. Prove, one hour, or until doubled in size.

Generously butter a 20cm/8” baba tin.

Once proved, knock back the air, and spoon dough into a piping bag. Pipe dough prepared tin. Prove again, until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 180°C/355°F.

Once the baba has risen, place in the middle of the warm oven, and bake, 25 to 30 minutes at 180°C/355°F, until a nice golden brown colour.

Whilst baba is baking, combine demerara sugar, honey, half of the rum and water in a large saucepan, and heat over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar and honey have completely dissolved. Boil rapidly, a couple of minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in remaining white rum and Mandarin Gin. Cover with a lid.

When the baba is baked, remove from the oven, and let cool, 15 minutes, before gently releasing from the tin. Then, carefully soak the sponge in the warm rum and Mandarin Gin syrup, gently turning it to soak evenly. Gently lift out of the saucepan, and transfer to serving plate; set aside. Keep about 1/4 cup of the rum and Mandarin Gin syrup.

Let rum-soaked sponge cool at room temperature.

Thoroughly rinse blueberries, raspberries and rc, then gently pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, beat double cream with an electric beater until soft peaks form. Add remaining cooled rum and Mandarin Gin syrup, and continue beating until stiff peaks just form.

Serve Berry Birthday Baba filled and topped with blueberries, raspberries and Red Currants, with Rum and Mandarin Gin Whipped Cream.

The word was “lak” (I think? My memory is questionable). They explained to me that it’s meant to be a derogatory slang term in the country I’m currently living in. I’m not sure if it’s used worldwide, though, haha.

Gaslighting myself happens when I need to take action but can’t. I use self-deception, convincing myself to push through tasks or meet goals. I’m tricking myself into believing something that isn’t entirely true to make progress—like thinking, “if I don’t do this, certain consequences, such as this and that, will happen,” when in reality, that’s not true at all.

Dexter’s habit of avoiding conflict is relatable. The poor man truly needs people who understand him without him needing to explain himself—which made his brother’s death particularly difficult for me—at least initially? I think he’d stay guarded at first, but over time, he’d start opening up once he realised that his vulnerability won’t be judged as harshly as he fears. I also find his subtle—well, subtle in a sociopathic sense—love for his sister to be really admirable.

I also thought his brother died too quickly, though I wasn’t entirely surprised. Dexter was caught between choosing him or his sister, and in the end, he deliberately chose his sister. One could see that as selfless, perhaps. He had the opportunity to build a life with someone who truly understood him, yet he chose his sister instead. But was it really selflessness? Or was it simply a reflection of the affection he felt for her, which he didn’t seem to have for his brother? It’s a very complicated matter, I think.

And yes, I finished watching Arcane! Well, first of all, I actually really thought Viktor was dead at the end of Act II, so I was surprised and delighted to see him return in Act III. I found his character development a tad amusing because he has an unhealthy amount of parallels to my favourite character from BSD, which made me predict almost anything he did and what happened to him. The Powder/Vi/Vander plotline was very heartbreaking—they deserved so much better. I liked Jayce’s heroism, and I liked the parallel universe aspect. Did you notice the intro always slightly changing, by the way? I would’ve skipped it after watching it once if my brother didn’t force me to watch it every single time, hahaha.

Somehow, the series began as a political and social dilemma, grappling with issues of power and inequality, but eventually evolved into a blend of witches, mages, alchemy, and magic-infused technology. All mixed in a pot—and somehow, it worked.

Interesting, I do believe "lak" is a regional slang term (Germany, if memory serves me right?), but now I am curious about the definition.

I imagine having false consequences as an incentive would be stressful, seeing how you utilise fear as your primary motivating force. Perhaps motivating yourself with a reward rather than a perceived punishment would be less emotionally taxing, assuming you haven't tried that already?

I believe there are many reasons why Dexter killed his brother, and it definitely is complicated. Dexter almost threw 20+ years of the Code away and told Brian, "Yes. I’m ready to join you. But I won’t kill Deb. I’m very fond of her. Perhaps if Brian was a little less possessive and allowed her to live, he and Dexter could have run off together being Murder Brothers. Dexter loved his sister, but he was very nearly willing to leave her until Brian forced Dexter's hand and ultimately prioritised his own vision over Dexter's wants by attempting to kill her himself (twice, for that matter), essentially trying taking away Dexter's ability to choose any other option but him.

I think Dexter did hold affection for Brian, seeing how he was upset that he "had" to kill him and held no enjoyment in the act the way he did with his usual victims. It even bothered him so much that he had difficulty killing people after. Dexter wanted to be free so bad, but he also cared about Debra. His brother's conditions were too black and white, and Dexter ultimately could not fully embrace his true self with him if it meant killing her.

Yes, Arcane is a uniquely beautiful and incredibly well-made show. I have been forcing my coworkers to watch it. I didn't notice the intro changing (I skipped it after watching it once as well), but I saw comparison videos of all of the hidden shots. There are so many details, Easter eggs, and story even with background characters who don't have dialogue. I am both inconsolable about the ending and in awe. I don't know how familiar you are with the characters outside of Arcane, but there is an endearing official short story League of Legends has for Viktor.

Martin Blackwood forces himself to enjoy tea: Day 1

Hello. as we all know i am martin blackwood irl (fictionkin way. i don't like clarifying but i have to) and, as most non-TMA people don't know. martin blackwood REALLY likes tea.

I do not.

So i have set out on a journey to force myself in the doorway that leads into the tea-likers-club by drinking tea as often as i remember to do so and gradually getting a taste for it (hopefully!) so i can feel the kin euphoria of being a tea drinker. Story under the cut

Today (or tonight...rather) i was grocery shopping with my mother, when i had suddenly remembered that my friend suggested i buy the Celestial Seasonings fruit tea sampler to try out some flavors after i had said i wanted to start drinking tea. but when i got to the tea isle they were sold out of the sampler i believe??? i couldn't find it :(( so i just bought the last flavor left (country peach passion). When i got home i made myself a cup and it was actually pretty alright !!i have never enjoyed tea so it was very surprising. it honestly just tasted like hot vaguely peach flavored water so maybe that's why i was ok drinking it...but it needed something.

My roommate told me it wouldn't taste good if i drank it bare and told me to put milk and sugar in it. which i shot down because i have NEVER enjoyed tea with cream or milk or anything. but i was like....ok. this tastes boring. MAYBE he was right?

Wrong.

At first i put sugar in it. which didn't taste right. so then i put milk in it because MAYBE that's what it needs. WRONG!!! it tasted like the nectar of satans ASSHOLE!!! it was like the tea god PISSED IN MY GOB!!! FUCK.

I genuinely shuddered at how awful it tasted. i don't know why but i just can not consume tea with milk in it. period. no boba or anything. i can still taste the dreadful milky peach tea. i do not want to waste another bag so. instead i plan on trying again tomorrow. wish me luck
