o i wanted to make a post that im honestly not smart enough to actually sit down and think out but i like the way meryls trauma doesnt completely woobify her character but does still affect her, it just feels nice to see a female charcater not be completely reduced to a wet soggy mess bc of trauma but also not to (very unrealistically) just Get Over It i think trigun has a nice balance and its refreshing

#also not saying its a secret feminist masterpiece or anything (coz ive seen ppl say that and. come on) but i still think it does well-#enough to be given an appreciative nod #i mean its clear nightow didnt know what to do w milly n meryl after a certain point bc there was just. Summary: We're two weeks after the events of "Exes and Oohs", and Millie has been kidnapped. She's grudgingly enjoying solitary confinement in the world's dustiest yet simultaneously most pristine dungeon when an unlikely face from her past comes sauntering in; against her protests he decides to stick by like a leech, and they end up having a surprisingly genuine conversation years in the making.

Not a confession and… kind of critical?? Might qualify as a fix-it?? Honestly just wanted to give Millie the lore she was robbed of in that episode, as well as do a fun little show-don't-tell exercise. (Also, Chaz has a character now beyond walking penis gag. Sort of.)

Choi Ha-neul, or just Hana for short, starts her second year of undergrad in late 2019, alongside her lifelong best friend Ryn, and recent additions from freshman year; Aurora and Reese. These four hit up the library between classes a lot and there, frequently run into an incoming freshman who seems troubled and alone... so naturally, they friendopt her and make her join in on their group escapades.

#oc stuff #my art #Ha-neul Choi (OC; Modern Day Follies)#oooh okay okay so basically tghe pandemic kinda threw a wrench in my story plans bc it was meant to happen in realtime #and for soooo long i didnt know what to do about it #and i still dont not really #but at least for the time period of late 2019 onwards till at Least the pandemic i've found a solution #nothing has really fundamentally changed its just Shortened. crunch #the plotlines with hana ryn reese & aurora still happen #and so does the plotline with millie morgan & theo #its just. condensed to fit a shorter timeframe before the pandemic hits and everyone scatters #so MDF is like a speedrun of all of that and it purposefully leaves a few loose ends and doesnt feel entirely 'tied up'#on purpose to reflect how i personally felt about stuff like classes friends and people who i thought would always be around me #and how it all got cut off so suddenly and how i never saw a lot of people again or never got closure for that part of my life

I Have really been enjoying trigun stampede on It’s own merits but it is getting hard for me to keep from comparing it to the manga… seeing great elements from the manga I love incorporated but in a really rushed and Surface Level way is kinda a bummer

#kite.txt #rly feels like they’ve speedrun vash and wolfwoods relationship in a way that makes it feel so… unearned #they still feel like strangers rn in stampede. whereas the livio and backstory stuff is supposed to be like the climax of their friendship #and of course Meryl is just absolutely . um. an absolute shadow of the character she once was #nd 7 eps in they have done nothing with Roberto that made him worth replacing Milly . the Story (and esp mery) has only suffered #from millys absence. also rly didnt need to axe one of the two female Leads in favor of another man (who does nothing)#the animation and General look is amazing and there are def some things I think were rly smart #but overall it feels like a super watered down amalgamation of manga ideas which isnt. awful bc it’s still fun but #as a trimax Fan it hurts to see a little #also the removing off all the unique elements like the lightbulbs and Angelic body horror #in favor of Stock Standard sci-fi Fluid Tube and typical ‘Alien’ looking plante #is not a decision I can defend at all it just strips the series of some of its most iconic and unique visual elements #that one just kinda sucks
